Well, I've been sleeping on my sides for the last several days. I woke up this morning with what feels like a "kink" on my left side. It's not painful really just more aggravating I guess. I'm gonna take some Advil and hope it goes away. Feels weird!

Happy Halloween ladies!! So as you know I still have 1 drain in, I really believe I have been taking it easy, but it still drains about 75cc's/day. Today, I am not going to take it easy, I am going to do some house work, then I will be taking my 2 girls walking around the neighborhood to go trick or treating. I am curious to see if this activity does in fact change my output.....we shall see.

Hi all!
I'm new here. I've actually been looking at reviews and stories on here for a while. Thinking back, I should have joined before my surgery.
I'm a 30yo married mom of 4 children, ages 7, 6, 3, & 13 months...so it's done quite a number on my body....
Anyways, I had a tummy tuck and breast lift on 10/15/12. So I guess I'm at post op day 4. It's been a good and bad daily...Meds help, soreness and front and backside of body hurting sucks.
Any opinions and encouragement would help. Thanks! I'll try to re-post soon.

haircut, i felt that way kind of also, but i have a couple friends that are nurses and the stuff they have now days is very safe and they have very few problems, and unless you have some major medical problem you should be fine, they monitor you the whole time during surgery and are very careful with the medication, no rason no not wake up but i know it is a fear of most people having surgery, you will fall asleep and the next thing you know they will be waking you up with a flat tummy, dont try to be brave either, take your pain meds, stool softeners, milk of magnesia and drink lots of water when you are up to it and get lots of rest, pretty soon you will be 5 months post op like me with a flat belly !

@kathy is ready thank you for your calm piece of mind. It is so helpful. How is it now 5 months post op? Do you feel like your stomach is normal in the since you can walk and it not feeling so tight. Or does it always feel tight now? I'm curious about that. How about ab work or workouts how does that feel?and what do you feel was the worst part after surgery?

Normal to be nervous. Ask for sedative before going to operating room. Also take a Valium night before. My nurse told me that and it helped. I also had a lengthy chat with anesthesiologist. The more you tell them the better exp you will have. For example I get very naucious after surgery. So they put a motion sickness patch on me and gave me the triple cocktail ( what they call for anti nausea). I had not one bit of nausea. Beat the 24 hour puke a thin I had following my c section. I wish I had known these option were out there. He also asked if I had reflux which I do. He then said he would use a diff breathing tube to help from anything going wrong. I guess I feel the more educated you are the more confident I feel that it will go smoothly. Just think positive thoughts and imagine all the good that is coming your way after the procedure!

Oh yes make sure you are fully hydrated. I drank a ton of water day before surgery and that helps a lot as well!

Not being able to work out. My recover was easy, I went in knowing exactly what to expect. Having to lay around and take it easy after your first week gets old and even more tiresome. I am so ready to get out there and whip this body back into shape and regain my energy levels again. If I sit still for a second, it's lights out. ugh!

For me it was getting in and out of bed. This lasted about 2 weeks. The first bm was like giving birth. I didn't have drains, so no issue there. It will be a year this month and I still get itchy, but other than that, no issues. And..,you will wake up .. lol. just watch your sodium intake.

I think of good things, going ahead with my Surgery. Everything is gonna be fine. I don't want to have to worry about it. Things will fall into place. One step @ a time. One day @ a time. I will have a lot of support from my family & this is the way it should be. That's why we have family..... I've gotten everything possible that I think I need.. So I'am out riding with other lady Cyclits's.. Doing lots of miles enjoying myself, looking forward to the day of the big surgery...

Ok I have to toss toss out there and see if any of you feel the same way. I had a flat bum. It was just not noticeable. Now that I do not have a tummy it looks like I have a butt. I was looking at my profile in the mirror and was like what the heck, where did that come from... now I fell like I got a 2 for 1 It's still a little butt but hey a little butt versus no butt... I'll take it!

Hello Ladies, long time not talk.! Well I'm feeling good for the most part. I still get tight at the end of the day... Anyone else after 3 months? After my cousin pasted away I kind of lost a track of time and any pain or concernce I had. I don't know what happen but I could not stop eating, I think it was a reaction to the lose, but I gained 5 lbs:( but now back on my mission to get back and better. I would be soooooo happy to lose 15! I'll do it! If I start doing some ab will be cut, I have definition and really shouldn't since I very rarely work my abs. I want to hear how everyone is doing.

Hi Nicks Mom! I'm sorry about your cousin :-(
I too am still "lumpy" (swollen) at the incision line...PS says it's normal. He also has me still wearing compression garment at night and light high waisted panties during the day. I thought at 3 months I'd be done! Guess not....will have to wait longer for cute bikini undies.
I flew to my mom's house before Christmas - she had 2 major heart attacks and it's a miracle she survived. I took care of her for a month and also gained 5 pounds. Don't worry - we'll get it off! I'm back home and ready to get on with my life again....It is hard to stop the mindless snacking! UGH! I'm here if you want to chat!
