Nose taping after cast removal - how do I get the tape off in the morning without wanting to cry?!

Hello all,My PS has recommended taping my nose each night to help reduce swelling. (I have thick skin and the swelling has been comically bad!) I really do think it's helping but it's not much fun to peel the tape off in the morning. My surgeon's office recommended using oil to loosen the tape, so I've been drenching the tape with coconut oil and leaving on for a few minutes before peeling the tape off, but this doesn't seem to work. Maybe I'm just not leaving the oil on long enough to loosen? Maybe water would work better? Just wondering if anyone has any helpful tips? Thanks in advance!

I used baby oil and literally drenched my face with loads of water and it eventually comes off easily :)

Thanks for the reply. Tired it this morning and it was *slightly* easier, but I still had a swollen AND red nose this morning! Le sigh. :-)

Use a tweezer to gently ease it off, if you aren't already. They should have given you tape from THEIR office. The best tape I've ever used was stretchy knitted tape called Dermiform from Johnson and Johnson, but I can't find it anymore. This is a close second. http://www.parthenoninc.com/products/Micropore%E2%84%A2-Tape-1%22-Wide-(Tan).html

Hey, thanks for the tip. They did give me some, but I'm running out already. Think I may be over-taping... Perhaps why it's so hard to get off?! :-)
