Is it normal to pay for 'touch up' procedure?

By laughingmoon on 02 Jun 2011

I had smartlipo to my stomach area. Three months later and I am left with lumps, indentation and extra fat in some areas. My doctor says the fat "can move" and that I need to get a touch up for $1500. He says that is just the cost of using the machine, etc. I can't believe that it is going to cost me so much, and that I have to go through all of that healing process again. I wonder if others have had to pay for their 'touch up'?

Hi laughingmoon,

It really depends on the doctor. I've seen a few who offer 100% free touch-ups, but most will make you pay for the O.R. and anesthesia again, because this is separate from the surgeon's fees.

The revision policy is usually in your contract, so you might want to have a look and see what it says.
