Normal to feel more congested after the splint is removed from rhinoplasty?

I had my splint removed today after five days. And I never had packing in my nose after the first hour. I feel more congested now and have swollen lumps in my nostrils. Is this normal?

Hi cocoa1,

Since removing the splint makes nasal swelling increase according to the experts on RealSelf, it seems likely to me that the increased swelling could cause congestion.
