nerve damage

By Sacramento6138 on 16 Mar 2011

I had smart lipo done on my flanks Nov 16th 2010. I have had nothing but problems on my left side. I am in contant pain and have been since the procedure. I believe 100% that it is nerve damage. I hate my doctor for this. She says there is no way she did damange to me. She says there is nothing that could go wrong with lipo. I am having a CT Scan next week. I already have an appointment. I will keep you informed. Has anyone else had this problem. It is real bad for me.

I'm really sorry to hear what you've gone through. A few other RealSelfers have mentioned nerve damage post-op, so you're certainly not alone. Here are some related threads that may help:

Well I hade my CT Scan. My medical doctor was looking for maybe a tumor that could have been laying on my nerves. He looked for other things as well. My results were no findings, nothing wrong. The CT Scan cannot find nerve damage, I did not know this. So know I have a appointment next week with a specialist to have a EMG done on me to see if it is nerve damage. I already know it is. I HATE the doctor that did this to me. She again takes no blame.

I had it done in Folsom, Calif.

Keep us posted. I too had mine done in Folsom (Dr. Borges) and haven't noticed any issues but I'm only a week out.

No Doctor works there by that name where I had mine done. Be thankful, I hurt everyday. Its was done by a female doctor.

I'd say be patient -- my doctor advises some areas will remain numb for up to a year.
