Hello. I have had both and at the same time. (last week) My situation was a little different in that I had a second reconstruction for breast cancer at the same time as the tt. My implants are under the muscle because I have no breast tissue. From my experience, the tt has been more painful. The drains are a nusance, but not horribly painful. The good news is, you will hit a point after a few days that things turn around quickly and you will feel better and better! I do not know what I would have done without the recliner. If anyone does not have one and can't purchase one, invest in one of those half chair/pillow things that you put behind you in bed. Ive had to use one before with my first reconstruction. I've slept in the recliner for a week now and I'm ready to get back in bed so I am sending my hubby out for one of those tonight! Good luck to you! Please just remember that the first few days are not indicitive of the entire experience.

Brookie I have had a hyserectomy, I too am a little aprehensive about pain post tummy tuck, is it not similar in any way to you c section. I remember the bad gas pains after hysterectomy hope you dont get them as bad with a tummy tuck, hope your recovery is going well xx

I am now almost 48 hours post op tt and I have to say for me this recovery has been much better for me then the breast aug. it's no cake walk
K but easier then my csection or hernia repair surgery. I guess I just don't have any pain tolerance for my upper body.

I had BA 8 years ago and it felt similar to what it feels like the day your milk comes in postpartum. Tolerable. I had my TT 7 weeks ago. Much rougher recovery. The first 3 days are pretty bad.

I am hating the drain entry points I have come home today with drains in, my incisions are in the pubic area below the cut held in place by some stitches sleeping is ok as you can only sleep on your back in jack knife positition but yes underwear and clothing is a bit of a prob but will manage they come out on Monday

Do you know where is your PS placing the drains? I had mine coming out of my incision by my hips so what I did was I would attach the bulbs in the middle right on top of my binder, couldn't wear any kind of underwear because since I was swollen they would be too tight , I slept on a recliner for 4 wks so by being in a sitting position they were not on the way...

He didn't specify where they would be just that I would have two. I may have to invest in a recliner this week ...my husband has been wanting one anyway lol

My apologies for my last comment I realize everyone's pain tolerance is different.
I have had a c section and hernia repair neither of those surgeries bothered me nearly as much as breast aug. I'm terrified for the recovery of the tummy tuck because of the drains. Do u guys have any tips on how to keep them out of the way. I just can't figure out how I'm going to sleep with them

I have not done my breasts yet but I had my tt 4 months ago and I can tell you my incision never hurt a bit, my abs cramped very bad and I hated the drains, at least for me that was painful just to touch the bulbs BUT since I did lipo on back that killed me, just remember everyone is different and reacts differntly to pain DON"T compare yourself to none of us.....good luck!

I had breast implants under the muscle 8 years ago and I didnt think it was painful at all more like I had been punched in the chest where as I am day 3 of my tt and I feel like I've been run over by a truck and reversed back over lol and I expect the recovery period to be a lot longer

Think again! If u are getting implants placed under ur muscle ur will have terrible pain for several days. My plastic surgeon says that BA is the most painful procedure if implants are placed under the muscle. Good luck to u. Are u having ur procedures done separately? I am expecting the tt recovery to be longer though

I have heard a breast lift is almost painless though

but i am not expecting any pain to speak of with the BA
however i am expecting a lot of pain with the TT
