HI Sarah... Welcome to "Bandland"... hope your surgery went well. just remember to take it one day at a time. I strongly recommend you check out www.lapandtalk.com I met some wonderful people there and got some great information there over the years. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. If you have a support group in your area I strongly suggest you try and go to a few meetings... especially for the first few months... you will learn so much. I have a couple of books I can recommend to you and a great "trick" I can mail that I found helpful that very helpful with night time snacking... it's kind of lengthy to post here... but I'd be happy to e-mail it to you if you want to contact me. Best of luck. Tom, Toronto Banded July 6 06 Wt. Loss: 156 lbs tomander@bell.net

Yes and I am thankful for that however I am new on here so just learning how this forum works was hoping to also ask if anyone has done this and how it turned out for them but there was no space left for more then the main part of the question. Sorry

Why would you want it removed? Have you had it a long time? Is it causing problems? I had my port changed to a low profile port during my PS, so it wouldn't stick out of my flat tummy after my TT. That's another option

Yes I have had it since 2009 and unfortunately I'm one of the people whose body wouldn't tolerate it. Turns out I have a sensitive stomach and swell easly, there is no telling at any given time how restricted I am due to the swelling until I eat which ultimately leads to vomiting. I have also never been able to tolerate fills as my stomach would swell so bad I couldn't even keep fluids down, I would have to go back and get it taken back out. I have also had a lot of trouble with my port catching somehow when I bend wrong and that fresking hurts also anytime I'm stuck sitting for a while it aches. It is not benifiting me enough to deal with the complications anymore I'm sick of being sick of it basically and just want it gone. Want to be able to go out to dinner with my husband with out running to the bathroom 3 times to vomit. My weight has been stable for the past 3 years with no fill so I'm ready to try it on my own now. If that makes since

I'm so sorry you've had so many problems!! I thank God I haven't had any problems with mine....it has been an answer to my prayers and has changed my life by helping be able to lose the weight. It's worth asking your PS about....or see if your LB dr and PS can coordinate. My PS did my port revision, but my TT was done at my LB's surgery center, so my LB docs were on hand. Good luck to you & congrats about maintaining your weight and being ready for PS!!!

thank you i guess i just really need to call around and ask. i worry because my insurance will pay for the band removal but i will have to go to who is in network and im afraid that will make it harder to have the PS i want. Im glad you have had such great success with your LB!
