I'm 4 weeks past Fraxel Repair and I can still see micro dots and laser "tracks" on my face. Will this go away? What can I do to fix it? My makeup sinks into these spots/tracks and looks terrible!

Yep they will tell you they cant see them or in my case its ageing. Funny that they werent there before. Yes I am currently in proceedings with my Lawyer to try and be reimbursed thousands of dollars spent trying to fix this mess. Worst decision of my life to have Laser.

Hi Jan, I had the Fraxel laser at VCI too. I think my face did get a bit of the dot scarring. Did you manage to get your money back? My case is really hard to prove because I don't have clear skin to begin with, so it's hard to tell. (I have hormonal acne) For me I definitely notice there's a bit of a change. The complexion does seem to get better, gave me a glow but I can tell there are tiny holes, that look like open pores.

Tried to get my money back taking it through the health commission but was unsuccessful. This is what they said. You aren't scarred. You knew the risks. You are at an age where you are already married and have had children. Ok so it seems to me by those comments that because of my age I shouldn't give a shit about myself. The health commission were very intimidating and it was obvious they took the doctors side even though they said they didn't take sides. My skin is not scarred and I read all of the side effects and micro holes in a pattern all over my skin for life was not one of them. The only way I can get them to show up in a photograph is a close up shot and because they are on my neck and chest and my face wasn't included I was told by the health commission that the photograph may have not even been me. I was insulted by that remark. I have been red and badly irritated ever since with a pattern of lines where the laser has been. I have tried everything and it seems to me this is just how my skin will be for the rest of my life. Anyone who wants to go near a laser I say don't. I had a Doctor who supposedly knew what she was doing. Once they get your money they don't give a shit about you. I reckon I would have to be 3 years post laser. I am now trying the new LED Healite II to see if that will help with healing and strengthening the skin. More money at $450 for 12 sessions.

That is absolutely crap and I am sorry that you have to experience this. How dare they even have the nerve to make that comment. I'm thinking of changing clinics. I am not overly bothered by the little holes on my face as my skin wasn't nice to begin with but because of the bad experiene I won't be returning. My doctor at VCI seems safe and nice most of the time but when things go wrong no ones wants to take responsibility. I might try Dr Teska.

There is a doc on this site who said that oily skin can prevent micro holes from closing because of the oil seeping in to them. That might be why mine never closed either and I am about 14months post treatment

Can you get laser tracks from Fraxel re:store? After my treatment, I have holes that form lines all over my face.

I just got my 1st fraxel treatment done on Oct.19th. I have little tiny micro-dot bronze color spots on my face... Is this the burnt skin that falls off? I'm on my 3rd day and I started taking a steamed shower and a warm face cloth and gently wiping them away. But since my skin is still very sensitive I am doing it very gently. Should I not be doing this? My skin sort of feels like a sand paper... anybody else get this way ?

Hi Dr. Persky - my doc now thinks this is a microscarring that can sometimes occur with fraxel. My skin texture just isn't the same as it was before the procedure and now I'm 4 months out. Any suggestions to help?

Hi, I have the same problem, I am 4 1/2 months out and I am left with grid marks and dots, have you found a solution to your problem? Please let me know cause I need help with my problem too.

Hi Anon, Speak with your treating physician. The dots and tracks will eventually go away. In a minority of patients it does sometimes take a few months. You can have O2 Intraceuticals facials to help hydrate your skin, use SkinMedica's TNS Essential Serum (growth factors), and even have a Fraxel repair Lite treatment (at very low settings, 5 mj, 10 to 20% coverage). Good luck and be well. Dr. P

I recently posted a question about this as well. I had profractional laser seven months ago and it seems as though the indented dots and lines on my face will never go away. Is there anything I can do? My skin is so damaged now. It was very smooth before and didn't need any treatments but my doctor talked me into the procedure. Please help, thank you.
