What scar management products are you currently using? My PS recommends Mepiform silicone dressing and they are pricey!...

Hi March 2013 new boobie girls! I have to say, even over a year later I still look and smile at my new boobs every day. My scarring has healed up really well, and has faded quite well in some areas. I'd say I have about 40/50% in both nipples. But I can live with that. Every now and then I will also get a funny little pain but it goes as quick as it came, in both boobs :)

Almost 1 year post-op. I hope everyone is doing wonderfully. I still love my new boobs and feel great in my own skin. I am so very happy with my decision to this day. Very recently, however, I have been experiencing really bad pain in my breasts in the middle of the night. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? It started about 1 month ago and it's so bad it wakes me up at night. It's like extreeeeme tenderness. I can't think of a reason why they would hurt this bad, it can't be my period/hormones, because it's been over a month! Anyone have any insight?

hello geret14...I am hanging in there..had my first post surgery mammogram today..i was nervous that it would tear my scars, but it was ok..i saw the images on the screen comparing last year..wow they were surely bigger then! The ladies there were smiling because i told them one day I would come in a be smaller! hopefully there isnt anything bad in there. gonna have a small revision where my drain was and lipo on the side boobage. they couldnt do it before because i was under for four hrs already..i want them smaller, but I have no regrets at all!!! I wish I was down 87 lbs..having serious problems with that..ugh

i think i posted on the wrong site, cuz i had mastopexy but for the purpose of lifting, not reducing, although the right breast had to be reduced compared to left side, but i needed implant to hold it. i am sorry to read so many who feel unhappy with their reductions. you certainly have cases against your PS. by 3 months it should look like it is going to look, with subtle changes over one year.good luck all

i have not posted on this site before. my surgery was march. i am 5.5 months post op. i had mastopexy with small implant 325 cc moderate profile. i am very happy with results.i have pics on my site. until i did the TT in july i did not know about these monthly forums. i had huge initial swelling, but at 6 weeks i felt i had "arrived" and then at 3 months it was over!! i have not seen any changes...if there are any they are too subtle. i used huge amounts of arnica and traumeel. it worked.our bodies are all different in healing, but i did not swell once the initial went down. i feel very fortunate. PS had to really do a job on me, and that right breast got pulled forward and lifted a lot more--it was very much bigger.

Please let me know - what is arnica and traumeel??

arnica and traumeel help bruising and muscle healing. arnica can be found in any health food store under homeopathic medicine section. it is well known for its properties to prevent or alleviate muscle soreness, and prevent bruising. traumeel comes in cream, tablets to melt under tongue, or concentrated liquid. there is a site traumeel.com in which you can learn more about it. it also has arnica as one of its ingredients. it prevents bruising, and helps with muscle and joint healing. i hope that helps. it is always best to begin it pre-surgery or asap after any trauma, then it works best.

Hello just popping in to ask 1 question. Im 4 week post op, Im still swollen. Pls tell me I wont be swollen for few months?!

You will stay swollen for at least 3-4 months.....hope you are doing well...

I am nearly five months out, and at the end of the day, depending on what i did all day..i still swell..this surgery transformation is seriously a test of patience..four weeks is very early..my doc tells me from six months to a year is when things really start to settle. I used warm baths, sometimes ice, and arnica montana for swelling and bruising..that helps..hang in there..

Well, I am assuming you had a March Reduction like I did...I feel fine, look fine...sad thing is I am nearly same size as I was....MY PS did NOT take enough Breast Tissue...its all I think of, since I waited until I could afford it (61 yrs) Out of my pocket 6,300....I am very disappointed with my size...I still look and feel like an elephant on top....it has nearly consumed my whole summer with my depression on size...

Yes i did...i have to say that the only time i feel better is when i look at the before and after. That is the time i see the difference..but i still have to buy xl, and i hate it...i am a d or dd...i am sure i was fooling myself thinking i was a dd before surgery. I am sure i was bigger but in denial..i need a revision where my drain was..it is so ugly..so that makes me aad..and my left aerola is much smaller than the right..sometimes i cry when i am alone because i had such a different idea of how small i was going to be..i feel like i am still huge..and it depresses me..the problem with that is i eat when depressed so that makes things worse..i see some of the younger womens pics and kick myself for not doing it sooner..i am 51.. But i scroll thru the pics and yes i feel jipped...i'm with you my friend

Well, so far it seems we are the only 2 that have this problem, Have you talked to your PS about it, if so what does he recommend? I have not seen mine, we live in SC in the winter and that is where I had it done, came back to Maine 1 month after surgery,,,,will be headed back to SC in Nov and I will see him then...all I do is email him about how he did not do what I asked and how upset I am...he does not even bother to answer me anymore, I don;t know what he will say.....if you PS offered a re-do for a small fee, when you do it again? I don't know as if I would, I want some sort of compensation though, but don't know if that is even possible....maybe I was bigger than a DD, but I don't think so. I eat and eat too, that of course adding to the still to big boobs. My husband is sick to death of my whining, I just don't know how to move on, I am so bullshit......keep me posted, let me know if you talked to your PS about your size.

Bugger! I wonder once the swell goes away, will boobs be smaller? Are u guys smaller than few months ago?

I was swollen for first 7 days only. I attribute it to using natural products to speed up healing, improve lymph circulation and prevent infections. My PS was impressed saying that at 57 I am doing better then his younger patients.
