I had 2 I injections last fall Nd developed nodules inside both cheeks approx r5 mos later. Thet have been diagnosed as chronic sialadentitis and incipient mucus reaction. I experience constant excessive saliva that is driving me insane. I wish I had never ever heard of this product.

How can you know that these are "harmless lumps of collagen"? That is utter nonesense. I have biopsy results showing granulomas. A foreign body granuloma is a consequence of an immune response. The result of a cascade of biochemical messages that go from the bone marrow to the connective tissue and back again. You have no idea what you are talking about. These granulomas get as large as marbles and are often visible. Sculptra has caused systemic disease, pain and disfigurement in thousands of people. Check the FDA Maude database for adverse events reported from physicians and patients who have suffered from this medical device that persists for many years with adverse reactions rearing their ugly heads 3 years after implantation. Don't risk it. Get the safe Restylane and go a couple times a year if needed. Better safe then sorry, sick and disfigured.

Yes, I have a few lumps inside my mouth/cheek, but it's no problem as they're not visible and not painful or bothersome at all so I don't even think about it.

As it was the first time I had sculptra I worried when they formed, about 4 months after my first vial (3 months after 2nd and 2 months after 3rd). One of the lumps was large and still remains (it's been 6 months now).

However, now I don't worry at all. Lots of people use sculptra - that's how the celebs look so great and yes, no doubt they have had lumps in their mouths from time to time.
The ones that formed on my right cheek 3 months ago have gone right down and are barely noticeable. Some people might have them and not even notice. The larger one insdie my left cheek/mouth has also gone down. It wouldn't bother me whether it went down or not as I don't think about it. I feel really fit and healthy and I look fit and healthy.

The lumps were at their biggest about 5 months after my 1st vial, 4 months after the 2nd vial and 3 months after the 3rd vail.

It is probably just that a lot was injected in one area of my mid face as I really needed it there; my skin was crepy there and not it's not, so it is really worth it! Much better skin on the outside is an excellent result. A few barely noticable lumps inside my mouth is nothing in comparison to the gain.

I had 3 vails of sculptra, 1 vail with 4 weeks in between. Injections were mainly in mid face, some injections were along orbital rim (but not above it!!!) near eyes.

I have no lumps that are visible or that can be felt from the outside of my face. They can only be felt if you go right inside my mouth and feel from inside the mouth. In fact, now the ones of my right side have practically gone so you can hardly feel them now.

I think the lumps will be gone within 12 months which is what my doctor said, which I didn't trust fully at first as I was new to sculptra. My doctor has a solid track record of being right so I take his word for it now. He's been using sculptra for years on himself and patients so he has a lot of experience. Either way I'm not bothered by them and actually at the rate the lumps are going down I think they'll be gone in a couple of months.

Some people who are new to Sculptra freak out about harmless collagen lumps and then write panicky reviews, then realise it was nothing to worry about really, but often these reviews can't be taken down and they don't bother to update. Hence that is why I think we still get reviews about lumps even though doctors have better injection techniques that minimise them now.

Other people who have legitimate concerns about lumps, such as those showing up in the eye area do have cause for concern as they will be visible. However, from what I've read, sculptra shouldn't be injected in the eye area unless by very experienced doctors and only along or below the orbital rim.

Some people do all sorts of things in life such as smoking which is really bad for the health. I never smoke, I never drink alcohol, I don't eat junk food, I eat well and get lots of exercise and I have no problems with having sculptra injected into my face as I don't think it could be as danagerous as smoking, drinking or eating junk food, which we all know makes people ill. People have been using sculptra for years and I haven't heard of it making them ill, except some who get ill with worry, especially after reading old reviews about lumps and some who get depressed because their doctor injected too much which distored their face shape (which is avoidable if you go to a good doctor and stick with them for years and years because they know where they injected before and which places to avoid to prevent over correction).

Hi: I am so sorry you are going through this. I had 2 sessions of Sculptra in hallow of cheeks, 5 weeks apart starting in August and ending beginning of Oct., I do not see any filling out. I am a very healthy, fairly attractive woman and only wanted to look less gaunt. Now I am getting a couple of papuals that look almost like aggravated pimples. I am getting a bit scared. I do not know if this problem will get worse or go away. My Dr. is not calling me back. When I called the Sculptra hotline, I talked to an individual, who read off a sheet and sounded as though he had not gone past the 6th grade. Why didn't the Dr. discuss with me that 8.96% of people have adverse reactions. I would have never, never put this junk in my face had I know the percentage. How big are your granulomas? Where are they? What do we do?

Sculptra caused chronic granulomatous inflammation and unsightly nodules still there 3 years later. the only doctor who speaks honestly about the product is Dr. Arnold Klein. Sculptra is unpredictable even in "the best" hands, let alone all of the regular plastic surgeons and derms who think they are the best and can not be bothered to read the literature. Any doctor that uses sculptra is not thinking about the welfare of their patient. Drs on the realself do not even know how long it lasts. s
Some say 2 years but that is not true, so again they do not even bother to read the literature about this polyester that stays in the body possibly forever.

Yes - 10 months after Sculptra to fill out my my drawn/gaunt cheeks, I now have 4 lumps on each cheek. Am hoping they will spontaneously dissolve and disappear over time. Fingers crossed.
