Lump on right side of nose near eye (where break was done) still protruding 3 weeks post op. Also, developing a little wrinkle

Hi, I fractured my nose and deviated my septum for which I underwent open nasal reduction septal repair.  My nose was crooked and I couldn't breathe.  Anyhow, I underwent surgery and even while cast was on I noticed lump on right side (this is the fracture line).  It is three weeks and it doesn't look any different.  Is this swelling, or is there a new deformity? Anyone else suffer these problems?

Hi there,

It's been a couple more weeks now, has the lump subsided at all?

No. In fact, it is becoming worse. It appears there is skin trapped between the bones which is causing wrinkle and now an unsightly skin protrusion when smiling. There is also a dent on the side of my nose. My bridge also looks wider. This has been a very challenging experience. I'm nearly certain I will have to undergo a revision. At this point I have no choice but to have it fixed, but I can say that had I known the extent of the potential complications if not carried out properly I would have avoided surgery and lived with my slightly deviated nose, which was far better than what I have now. Thanks
