How Can I Lose Weight After Pregnancy?

By Jennifer Rose on 28 Jan 2009

I had gastric bypass 5 years ago and had maintained my goal weight of 150 lbs for 3 years. I then had a baby and now I just can't seem to get back down to 150 lbs. I am 180 lbs now and have no energy. My doctor put me on a vitamin regimen and I am doing exercise, but I feel like my metabolism is nil. I am also a stay-at-home mom now. Is there anything I can do to lose the excess weight?

Hi Jennifer,

I know it's been a long time since you asked about losing weight after pregnancy, but I wanted to check in and see how you're doing. Have you managed to get back down to your goal weight?

Tiredness is normal after child birth, but as you know after a gastric bypass vitamins and other nutrients don't get absorbed at the same rate as this did pre-surgery. You did the right thing speaking to your doctor and getting set up on a vitamin regime.

Please let us know how you're doing!
