I had my surgery on a Wednesday morning, got drains out the next day, took a shower that same night and my husband left me alone early Friday morning until late Saturday night. I had my sister on alert but felt so good I called her and told her to stay home. All I did the first week was sleep, take meds, try to eat a little and use the bathroom. Everyone is different but I was just fine by myself and actually enjoyed the solitude.

My surgery lasted little over 3 hours. I would recommend sleeping in a recliner for the first few days at least. I do not know your preferred sleeping position. If you can have someone stay with you for the first few days, preferably a week, it would be better. You will need to rest for the first few days. I was able to drive, shower and put my bra on after 5 days. The pain is the worst in the first day and decreases afterwards. I was on vicodin and used it every 4 hours for the first 3 days. After that, I was able to manage with ibuprofren.and ice as needed.
