How long should I be in "pain" after my lift/augmentation?

Hello, today is day 7 of my lift/augmentation. I realize I may be premature in asking this question. I had severe pain for the first 3 days and then that began to subside. A day or 2 without much pain and the last 2 or 3 days of moderate to VERY uncomfortable pain. Mostly on my right breast underneath and to the armpit side of my breast. My husband massaged it very easily yesterday and that seemed to help some but I feel its this strap I have to wear. It is very uncomfortable and seems to just put pressure on the spot that is hurting so badly. I don't know how long I am supposed to wear this strap but I'm also wondering why I'm having so much pain on one side. Even just sitting here watching tv...it hurts!!!

Yay! Congrats on your anniversary! Hope you both had a wonderful blessed one and that you have many more! :) my husnband and I have been togeather since I was 15 and he was 19. We moved in togeather when I turned 19 and has our son when I was 20 then married when I was 21 and we had our daughter when I was 23. Glad you enjoyed your single life an being a single mother I see (my sis) is the hardest job! Cuddos to you! Glad you concourd bulimia! Yay! Awesome!! You have come LONG way! God is good ALL the time! I in the othe hand was the opposite. I was 278 lbs at my biggest and after the birth of my daughter and not being able to get to both my children during an emergency situation fast enough. And trying many diets and pills along with programs has success on some and then had some weight gain. I decided to look into gastric bypass. I didn't have health issues per my health ins, but I fought a good fight and got approved in 05. I know weigh 127 and people call me petite ! :D That's still hard for me to swallow or believe, it feels great but its hard to see myself that way. It's a mental thing that I'm sure you understand since your bulimia once upon a time. Same mental disorder but different... Im 5'4 and was still am but not as much, having vitamin deficiency due to bypass. Will always be on vitamins. But I'm healthy and feel good as long as I take all of them. I will for myself and family. Haven't worked out in about a year due to knee injury from teaching a cardio class at curves. Needless to say due to the weight loss I do have loose skin that kaiser says is "cosmetic" they did however do a panis removl not tummy tuck but pretty decent job for an HMO. My girls where not that big to begin with and thats why that was not covered. I'm sure if I fight for certain things that affect my self asteem and so in my HMO has to cover. It would be considerd medically necessary. I just don't have the time. As soon as I feel better from this car accident (cant wait) I will strat back on kick boxing or tei bo. I have a few gyms near by and all the DVDs. What area do you live in?

Ahhh...that was a nice post. Its comforting having the support of the hubby. Of course its a huge purchase, nd my hubby and I are gonna have to do some major budgeting to get the girls paid for, but we will do it. (He even piced up a side job for cash on Sundays to aide in that.) He's pretty awesome to.
I TOTALLY agree with everything you said with the size, boob envy, etc. I 'whispered' once, 'i wonder what I would look like if I went bigger?' But honestly...I'm good. I am huge into fitness and weightlifting, I didn't want bigger to get in my way. Probably wouldn't of, but the chance...I didn't want to take.
I am 41 year old. I have been married 4 yrs...TODAY! I have a wonderful beautiful daughter 19 yrs old. I lived my early 20's being a single mom, and loving it, struggled with bulimia and just decided I deserve this. I turned to fitness a year and a half ago...and never looked back to bulimia. I beat that damn disease. I am living the second half of my life healthy and proud. My 'girls' are my gift to me! :)

I was really saggy too and thought I was a C but from what my PS said I was not :/ lol said that if they did a lift alone I would be flat chested. I could not have that. So after all the measurements and several consults my ps and I decide that 550 would be good for me. They are not as big as they sound. Lol. They did look huge at first but now they are good. In a VS wireless bra I'm a 34 to 36 D in a wire bra I'm a DD. The wire makes all the difference. I didn't want to have surgey and regret not going bigger. Everyone I had spoken to said they either they had regrets not going bigger, would go in for 2nd bigger implant or had boob envy. I didn't want to be in any of those categories and asked a few surgeons what would be good for my body short and long term. My sister however wanted me to go 600 and my PS would not have that! Lol so glad I was adviced otherwise. I will have my hubby take a recent picture and I will post it. I'm still a little swollen on the left from the accident. I will be having an MRI soon to be on the safe side. Even if I have to pay out of pocket. I rather be safe than sorry. Didn't bother asking If you have children and
Your age ? I'm 37 and have a 15 yr boy and 12 girl. My husband is a wonderful man who knew I've wanted to do my breast for about 5 years now. After much research and thought he said just do it! He's on awesome man! Can't wait Dow him to enjoy them to the fullest! ;)

Wowo, 550! Mine seem so little, lol. My surgery was July 19, 5 weeks. I went 234cc under with a lift. Unsure of final cup size yet, still alittle swollen. But think will be a C. I got a lot of 'size' just from the lift. (Go to my profile, click on the question I asked to the Dr's. I posted pics in there. The question was something like, 'does this look normal? Is this part of normal healing?' Something like that. ) Prior to surgery I wore a C cup...but I as really saggy...so it all fit in there. Lol. Your PS said B? But ur at a DD? That's quite the diference in size?

When was your surgery again? Mine was May 29 and I has 550 cc's under muscle silicone. Was an 34 A to big B my ps said. Now I measure at 36 DD. don't know if that is correct.

I didn't know that was still around. :) I just want to lift weights so bad. It realy is the only thing that makes me feel good. But PS has said nothing about it yet..only cardio. (No jogging...which causes discomfort anyway). Trying to be patient....

All good. Understand you have to get the kiddos off to school. Can hardly believe its that time already. Where did the summer go? My Ps never told me about massage..read up on it myself. Think it has also made a huge difference. My left one is still taking its time..but definitely improving. Love my boobs so much! Can't wait for the ok to lift weights..need a defined body to match my boobs. Lol. Keep feeling better!

Sorry I took so long to reply to your comment. Both my kids started school and things have been crazy around here. Not to mention, I thought I was out of the clear from the car accident and my left breast settling, but it seems that the more I use the muscle / left arm … The breast starts to move in the pocket again and the pain continues. I saw my P.S on 8-5 and I was told to wait for swelling to go down that there is no rupture. Once the swelling went down, the movement should stop. I had no bruising on the outside but the pain was instant. My next appointment with my PS was not until Sept 17 but I called and told them that the implant only stopped moving for a few days and then started again. The pain has not stopped completely. It comes and goes. I’m assuming this is normal since its pain from BA and Lift and pain from car accident. Pain over pain … The accident happened at about 9 weeks post-op. I have to wear 2 tight sport bras then tie them with a hair band in the middle for extra support from moving around in the pocket (saw this online). It’s either that or the band we are given to help drop our breast. If I wear band I wear it over the left (since very slightly higher & under the right) I feel like my left arm/muscle is useless and I can’t bend down as this aggravates the left breast movement! I am so frustrated! If I do nothing as If I just had surgery then everything is Ok, the only thing I can think happened is that the pocket that was already formed around my breast must have ripped /broken during the accident. And now I probably have to start all over again. I guess I will find out (I HOPE!) On Monday 8-27 when I see my PS. I Haven’t read anyone else have a similar problem as I do ,which concerns me since I don’t know what to ask or do. My left breast even looks wider if I don’t have it all wrapped up as I described above. I can’t go out the way I have to have them since its so uncomfortable and I’m beginning to have feelings of regret and depression.
Thanks for your well wishes for us, we are also glad. And yes they could've been so much worse. Make sure to do as your ps tells you as far as massages and whatnot. I actually did some techniques I looked up and combined them, saw a huge difference in a matter of days! I'm not an expert, but the shape was oval/boxy and I was coming up on 6 weeks so getting close to the time frame where they say you won’t change much... I decided to try different/ aggressive technics! So GLAD I did! At 5 days , I was already happy. When I went back to my P.S she was happy also. When I told her what I was doing she was surprised and actually impressed. I do all this all day when every single time I possibly can when I'm home and even when I go somewhere! I carry my breast band and use it whenever possible as well! lol When I can hide it of course. All this was prior to the car accident. Now I massage only the right (to keep soft) as it has already settled and gently massage the left as I feel the pocket has to form again but I don’t want a CC to form. Other than the movement, pain and that you can see the swelling when I have not had my boobs trapped and strapped down (left one looks much wider if I don’t)I would be happy with the results.
How has everything with you been? Are you feeling, looking better? Is your girl still looking angry? ;)
Hope things have settled a little more for you!

Phew...glad you had good news regarding your 'girls'. I'm so glad everyone was ok also. Car accidents are so scary and trying.
My right one is still swollen. I went for a postop, fourth one in 19 days, and he said he's not worried. MAY have fluid..but not likely so thinks body is trying to absorb it. He okd light cardio..so that makes me happy. He said to come back in 2 wks for another but told me to not worry. Hard not to when one is perfect and the other is swollen and 'angry' looking. Grrrr...
I really am glad everything went well with you. Could of been so much worse.

Holy buckets. Please keep us posted on what ur PS says. Wishing the best for you and ur 'girls'. Scary!
I should of worded my comment different. I'm not 'scrathing' per say. They just are making hollow, swishy noises. I know know its normal. (Been reading a lot). I am almost. Weeks post op now, go in on Thursday again. Still concerned about my left one..just not healing like the right. Of course with googling..I'm thinking the worse. Grrr...want to be back to normal so bad.
Keep us posted!

Hi llgsmg,
Thanks for asking for an update. My ps said everything feels normal to her touch and the "twins" look a lot better since my last app just under 3 weeks. MRI was written just for my peace of mind but said I could hold off a week or 2 before doing it. Only because what I'm feeling is normal , pain on top of pain. Since I also had a lift I have extra tissue on my left breast. I'm thinking ps made pocket a little larger than right side and didn't lift as much as on the right. 11 weeks out and 8 days out of 11 weeks I felt great! Until the car accident. If everything hurts, including my breast especially my left due to drivers seatbelt, I can only imagine my baby girls pain. She never complains and has been about back and neck especially. To make matters worse school started Monday. Ayyy. But I have to thank God for all our blessing and pray for the best. Things could have been a lot worse. Car at fault was totaled and yet none of us needed ambulance. God is good! Anyhow, looking fwd to posting pics of my boobies soon as I feel better.
My right is still riding slightly higher but I'd be SO happy with size and shape if not for the discomfort and pain. What problems are you having? Hope nothing major. Wish you luck on your Thursday app! Good thoughts your way ! Keep us posted. :)

I had same surgery May 29, 2012. Still Have trouble sleeping and have the sharp pain shooting to my nipples. I had 550 silecone under the muscle. Its an invasive surgery to get both lift and implants. Especially if you get HP and a larger implant like I did. I'm very sensative to pain and my left breast is still a little higher. The muscle hurts more on that one , I have been massaging regularly and very aggressive. I hope it drops soon . I am 5'4 and 130 lbs. I think 550 hp implants is a big size or good fit . My husband sure does! :)

Good morning girls. Glad I found a forum with other newly ehanced ladies. I am 4 days post-op. Lift and silicne implants. Still in discomfort. Here's a question I am wondering. WHEN YOU 'SCRATCH' YOUR BREAST, DO THEY SOUND HOLLOW? Its the strangest thing. Already heard them squeek, lol. Please advise. Can't wait to feel better also. Wanna stretch!

Lol! Don't scratch! You will get stretch marks. It's your skin stretching like when your pregnant. So go get the same lotion. I used Aveno. The noises ate normal. Will go away with time. It's air and fluid around the pockets. I was worried to but all gone. Good luck. Was feeling great but got rear ended and my left breast uh hurting and when I bend down it feels heavy and feels like its moving around. Seeing my surgeon tomorrow. The pain on my body is bad enouph but this one scares me even more. After taking care of them and finally being happy with my results! This is depressing! Hope everything is ok. :(

To follow up my previous post...I am now exactly 2 weeks post-op...the pain finally subsided after about 10 days. I think I must have been an exception to the rule on pain. I read posts of ladies who were going out to eat and socialize on day 3 or 4...there is no way i could have done that even on day 6 or 7..but I'm feeling much better now. I still have a little stiffness and soreness on the right side but I have found if I move my arms around..up and down and across my chest it stretches that muscle a little and the pain has gone down tremendously. Now I'm just waiting for the day I get to see my final result.
