How many liposuction incisions did your surgeon make?

Please let me know if that was also with another procedure. Also, were your drains left open or sutured up? Thank you!

Hi there! I had lipo done in conjunction with a tummy tuck about eight months ago. I had a wide incision for the tummy tuck across my lower abdomen, and that was the only incision I had for the tt plus lipo to upper and lower abs. I had one drain for six days post op...no stitches after it was pulled out. It bled a little for a day or two after removal but I covered it with gauze and tape and it healed nicely. My surgeon removed 4.5 lbs of skin and fat from my abdomen. I am really thrilled with the appearance of my belly now. However, I do think some of those lbs have made their way to my inner thighs! I think the fat redistribution is a real phenomenon.

I am doing well. Today is 15 days post surgery. I had 2.8 liters removed and about 1liters transferred. At first I was a bit worried that too much had been transferred but my doctor assured me that some of it would not survive. He was right. I still have some numbness in my lower back and abdomen but I can tell the feeling is coming back. It feels a little weird, like itching but scratching doesn't help. I've worn my compression garment faithfully. My stomach and thigh skin is still contacting but is looking better day by day. When I'm a little further along I'll post some pics.

I did it again, Betsy. I think the auto correct keeps changing your name to Becky,. That's really strange...

I had lipo to my abdomen, flanks and inner thighs. For the abdomen, I had an incision in my naval and two in the to part of my pubic area. For the inner thigh, he used the pubic incisions and made an incision about half way down each thigh. For the flanks, I have 3 incisions, one in the small of my back and one at the top of each butt cheek. No drains were used. Some were stitched internally and some were left open and scabbed over within a few days. I had fat transferred to my butt. There were 2 incisions on each butt cheek for that...no drains, small stitch,I think.

I had my procedure on July 18 and my recovery has been as better than expected. The day of surgery i was pretty nauseated and tired from the anesthesia. I stuck with Tylenol to avoid feeling nauseated but did take in the second night. I didn't find it was much better than the Tylenol. Day 2 was definitely the worst for pain and discomfort but it has gotten better and better every day. I went back to work 5 days after my procedure and on day 10 I was completely back to normal activities (shopping, etc) except for lifting items over 15 lbs per my PS's instructions. The biggest help in my recovery was my body strength. I continued strength training up to two days before surgery and being allowed me to move myself around as needed even when it was painful. I never regretted it for even a minute. Right now, I am really anxious to see my final results, but that will still be a while. I saw a difference immediately but complete healing takes about 6 months. I'm happy to anawer any other questions.

To clarify, I took Demerol on the second night but didn't feel it helped more than the Tylenol. So I stuck with Tylenol the rest of the time.
