Lift chair $100 and the hospital bed is $185. I'm having a High Tension Lateral tuck on the 27th. Any thoughts?

Got another quote for a lift chair at $85. I really wanted the hospital bed but my doc would have to write orders before the company would release one to me.....even though it's an out of pocket cost. Doc said no, so it's a lift chair for me and a full body suit. I have a walker, might pick up a cheap riser. Still a few more small items needed.

I rented a lift chair from Renter center...and slept in it for 3 weeks...It was helpful but at some times uncomfortable...

I rented a regular recliner ( not electric) and had no problem at all, I loved it and it was a saver, there's no way I could have gotten a hospital bed my house is pretty spacious but not for a bed plus I think they both function just about the same electric or not eventually you are going to have to go back to your bed AND that's another challenge..at least for me it was!!!!! good luck!!!

I checked the local medical supply stores. I also contacted my Health Insurance and even though it wasn't covered if I go through their suppliers the bed is only $135.

Update on the hospital bed. My doc does not recommend them. he says the patient becomes to comfortable and the lift chair encourages us to move.

I just had my surgery last night an came home and tried the recliner- didn't like it one but. I'm currently propped up with four pillows for my head, body pillow in front, throw pillow for the curvature of my back (Spasming there) and pillows under my legs. I'm pretty comfortable minus the normal pain.
