Very concerened as a singer about which muscles are cut and how that would affect feelings in my tongue, throat, pharynx. larynx, etc. i can't deal with a tight jaw or feelings of  any tightness that     would interfere with classical singing technique. What do you think? tomorrow is a free consultation. I'm thinking of calling my ENT first who treats singers fro layrngitis and all sorts of vocal problems.

I had some chin liposuction in combination wiith a full facelift, about 5 years ago. My face is naturally round and I have a small chin/jawline, so my jowls, triple chin and turkey neck were pronounced. I was pleased with the results, although I did experience golf ball size lumps in my neck, the surgeon prescribed daily massage using cocoa butter. Eventually the lumps disappeared but it took a few months. They were not visisble and did not cause discomfort. I have since learned that there is a precautionary med that can be given to avoid this effect. Also if the muscles are not tied together - something my surgeon was supposed to do but I later learned did not, the result is short lived. My chin, neck and jowls have continued on their journey to my knees, and I curently look almost as I did pre-surgery.
I would like to repeat the process, but my recovery time was so long in terms of regaining my energy level - I was tired for months - but as I said I had a full face lift.

I think bone structure is significant in determinig longevity of the result especially in this area of the face.

And although I interviewed several surgeons, I ultimately used the one I liked the best, because I really couldn't make a decision based on the work, except in cases where the recent patients that I met in the waiting room were so much alike that it was scary, because their nose jobs and cheek implants yielded identical looks.

I think if you get referrals from former patients, don't talk with recent patients, talk with someone who has lived with it for a year or two. After my swelling and bruising went away, which took a while, I looked so beautiful I thought my whole life would change. But then my whole face sort of "settled" and although it was still a big improvement, it was no longer as stunning. But this refers to the whole face lift. your lipo is a modest step and will not involve all this. I've digressed.

In response to negative comments on the NYC office, believe them !! My consultation was with a non-medically trained high pitch sales person. This is my face. Should I go to a 7-11 clerk for a surgical consult? Or a sales person? Don't think so. I am a registered nurse with the NYC Dept of Health & Mental Hygiene. After I told my sales rep this , she said I should have told her that from the beginning. While it may be customary to pay in advance of plastic surgery, she wanted a couple hundred $ up front BEFORE even seeing a surgeon for a consultation( which should have happened from the start). BIG RED FLAG!! I emailed the central office with no response. I called the main office & was given the name of the Madison Ave. office manager. I called all week & she never responded. I called the main office again & they said they would have her call. She never called. Obviously the company operates in a very unethical manner & has no customer service. The ads offer free consultations-when you are having a surgical procedure the consultaion is done by a physician-not a sales person . How ridiculous & unethical. The company's obvious choice to ignore me leaves me very afraid of such a operation. PLease people, BEWARE. Do the research. Ask what hospital they are affiliated with, if the doctor who is doing your surgery has privileges their ( in the event that something should go wrong). Any company that operates so unethically and rudely to prospective clients should be exposed. Also ask about how many injections you will have in your face...it may very well change your mind. Re-read entries of other dissatisified clients. It is all the same story. People are lured by the low prices. They are a revolving door for surgical clients who are from what I have seen in the office, older minority women who have very limited medical system/ethics savvy. Two women I know of went here for consults, they will not go back after hearing of my experience . Do your homework, save a few extra dollars & go to a reputable & ethical board certified plastic surgeon where you will be comfortable & safe, and where you will have caring facility that will be responsive to all & any of your needs. If NYC's Lifestyle office ( & main office ) is this way BEFORE surgery, imagine the horrors you can encounterpost-operatively.

Yes, my sister and I both had the procedure done on July 14, 2006, by Dr. {edited},in NYC, and were not happy with the results and when we went back for our check up were informed to wait atleast six months to see results. When we went back in February 2007 we were informed by Dr. {edited} that a revision (redo) would have to be done and it would be "free of charge" as initially promised. Well, that was not true as we are now informed we have to pay for the "room" to have the procedure redone which is approximately $300. We have been trying unsuccessfully for several weeks, to call the the doctor's office but they do not respond nor return phone calls..."will have someone call you back"...but they do not call back. We are at our wits end...we are still paying for the surgery procedure which did not work...we are also having severe prolems behind our ears and still they do not respond....I guess "legal action" will be the next step.

I read your blog and was quite concerned. I thought this procedure was suppose to last for at least five years. It upsets me to read thatyour facial jowls began to droop only after several weeks. How could that happen? Do they just pull your skin up with threads? Is this similar to that?

I had an initial consultation in June, 2007 and was told that I would be rid of "puppet mouth" that you are talking about. However, when I had my consultation with the surgeon, she said it WILL NOT get rid of the lines from the nose and from the corners of the mouth to the chin. The surgeon said you need to have fillers for that and Lifestyle Lift doesn't do fillers. Also, the neck contour was "iffy." She said after one month of wearing the chin strap and the liposuction, they "hope" the neck falls into place. To me "hoping" wasn't worth the cost of $5700.00. I opted not to have it done. I'm going to see someone else and have fillers and then have my neck done.

I am a 51 yr old hispanic woman who had the LS lift 3 weeks ago. It was a piece of cake. I didn't tell anyone I had it done-except 3 friends and everyone who has seen me since, thinks: I have lost weight, I look great, or well rested!

I had the chin, jowl lift with lipo. I am very happy as my scars are almost invisisble already. My ears are still a little numb and I had some drainage from one of the incisions behind my ear. Other than that- the pain was manageable with the Dr.s RX and I had a lot of bruising for a whole week-which migrated down my neck as the swelling left my face.

I paid $4900, financed over 18 months interest free.

My surgeon was in Houston. I look 15 years younger!

WHo did you have it done with in New York? I am considering the procedure for jowls that have rapidly developed since my mid-30's -- i am now only 42. I wonder if I am too young -- but if these jowls keep progressing as they have in the last 5 years...yikes!

Gina, I live in Houston and have for the past 2 -3 years considered doing the lifestyle lift. I am 42 and still look pretty good but with minimal sagging. I am quite scared...i have gone to the office on St. James Place twice now and it still frightens me.

How did you like Dr. {edited} ? Was he attentive and were his incisions nicely done? Would love to see before and after if you have them.

Would like to speak and ask questions if you dont mind.

When I first posted my comments on May 10 2007 I have to say that I was very upset!!! As i said my calls were not returned and I felt as though once they get your money after a slick sales pitch the office forgets about you and could care less about you. Then I got a call directly from Dr. {edited} and felt better right away. Even though he had left the Lifestyle Lift to go into private practice he made time to see me on July 16. We reviewed my before and after photos and in all fairness there was a difference in my neck and jowls - just not as much as I had hoped for after what the sales girl had shown me and compared to the photos in the brochure they give you. Dr. [EDITED] though had been honest and told me before the surgery that because I had thick skin and bad acne with scarring not to expect "dramatic" results. I live in California and I expected after meeting him that day that Dr. {edited} would just send me back on my way - as it turned out though he was very kind and said since you are already here and flew out lets talk about your options to improve on areas that concerned me. He did what he called a "vertical lift" and I can say almost 4 months later that I couldn't be happier. My advice to everyone is to take the consultation process and advertising with a grain of salt and listen to the doctor instead! I am definitely going to see Dr. {edited} on my return trips to New York and now want to Thank him for his dedication, skill and care.

Be very careful. Dr. {edited} performed the procedure on my mother. When she went back to have her stitches removed the Dr. did not see her. An attendant removed her stitches. She complained of excessive swelling and soreness. The attendant said that was normal.
Ten days later my mother had to go to the emergency room. She had a severe infection and had to have emergency surgery that same day. The infection is the MRSA Staph infection. She will require at lease one more surgery and will be in the hospital for about 2 weeks.
It seems that the Dr.s want to get the patients in and out in a hurry with very little follow up and aftercare. Go to a professional board certified plastic surgeon that has hospital privilages.

Trust me folks, I use to work for these peoples and it is all about them getting your money and you never getting it back, you will be out of work for a minimum of 2 weeks, you will get hematoma's, keloids and scarring, it is not a walk in the park. The Doctor's are free lance so they have no allegience to this company. The consultants are SALES PEOPLE and told one thing and one thing only. "SELL EVERYONE WHO WALKS IN THAT DOOR". The staff is told they are to have 30 surgeries a week! So think about 2 doctors doing that in one week!! It becomes a factory, also that is one word they do not want you to represent in the office. DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU ARE, overweight, are black are under 50, without much of a chin or jaw line, keloid, scar. The lift itself is a mini one and lasts one year at best. You will not get your money back on deposits left with Care Credit and if after 7 days forget it ever. These folks are in the business of getting you money and you never getting it back.
The Doctors DO NOT want to hear from you after one month. Because they know you are just coming back in for a re-do or to complain. YOU WILL NOT GET A RE-DO unless you tell them you are going to the news outlets. That is the only thing that motivates them.. Also the Founder is not a real Doctor check out his degrees.

Best advice save your money and go to a true Plastic Surgeon, they will give you the real result. This procedure is painful and temporary.

I am wanting to get my money back, because of poor results also. But, may have to settle for a redo. I really don't have any confidence in these so called doctors. They are no longer wanting to help you once your procedure is done so is the custumer service. I turned them over to the BBB today.

I have to tell you, I am 10 days post op. Not all of the doctors are like what you describe--mine has been calling me every 2 or 3 days at home to check on me. Any hint of a problem and she asks me to come in to be rechecked. She has gone out of her way to make sure I am ok.

I think the best results are obtained when you do not go in blindly--get a recommendation from people in yuor area who have used a particular office...ask people in the waiting room what their experience is etc.

I used to live in Palm Springs, CA and will go back "home" in order to get the right doctor. Can you recommend one anywhere in California?

What can we do to get some results from LifeStyle Lift? Can we get together for a class action lawsuit? That is what I feel needs to be done for I have been dealing with these people since my surgery on Dec 28 2007 when as soon as it was done, I told them there was no results. I could not believe it when I looked in the mirror for the first time with nothing. And when I came back to have my sutures taken out I met a lady in the waiting room that had the same doctor that I did. Matter of fact she had her surgery right in behind me and she wasn't happy with her results either. This was in Franklin, TN

Hi everyone. I am 41 and had the LSL on May 16 in Los Angeles. It has been two and a half weeks and let me tell you, I feel very good about having it done. I kmnow that it is new and I am fairly younger than most who have this done, but my doctor did an excellent job. I took Arnica Montana found at health food stores for a week before and after the surgery. I also drank pineapple juice which has healing properties. My bruising was gone after about nine days and immediately, friends and students I teach have been telling me I look good and they don't know why.

I have some redness on the scarring around my ears but it is very easily covered with hair for now. You need to massage your jaw lumps, use heat after a week, massage your scars with bacitracin and or scar zone and I have to tell you, my sister and I are both happy. She is 52 and had it done at the same time and she got carded at a bar last week!!!! She called me so excited and said it was worth every penny. Even if this just lasts a year, I am glad I at least tried it because I was so curious. I think if you are younger and in good health, it may be a great preventive aging measure. Genetics etc. Good luck, research and pray about it. I'll hopefully be able to say the results are long lasting,,,but after just two weeks, it's amazing how much tighter my jawline is. I had lipo in the chin as well and am using a soft head band to truss the aread at night and it is gradually going down and my old fat lump and sunk in look are gone.

are your jowls still drooping and what was the final outcome with LSL. i hope u r ok. can you tell me whether or not it was a painful ordeal and how long was your recovery period. Also, is LSL going to correct your drooping neck and jowls? I think they should. I hope you are now ok. please let me know the outcome. many thanks

Now that 10 months have past, do you still look as good as right after the surgery. Have you had any bad reprocussions from the lifestyle lift? Has the numbness gone away and are your chin, and jowls still holding up? I hope things are going well and it was worth it. so many on this site say it was not a good idea. What do you think now when you look in the mirror? thanks for anything you can help me with

Yes everything is still drooping. They said they would fix it but I told them there was no way I would go through the pain and feeling of being in a free clinic. I have another doctor who is going to fix it and for the difference in price I should have gone to him first.

Carol123

I had my surgery last Thursday with the same Dr.in franklin tn. and I'm very excited about the wonderful job he did. Yes it is a little tender around my ears which is to be expected. It is way better than I expected it to look and after reading these blogs I was scared to death. I couldn't be happier.

No, everything is not okay. They refused to refund any of my money and they are not going to redo it like they said they would. Some people may have gotten the results they wanted, but I sure didn't. I had the lifestyle in New York City in April 2006. The immediate results were dramatic, but after several weeks my facial jowls began to droop. Additionally, after 7 months, I am still experiencing numbness, tightening and general discomfort behind and around the ears. This interferes with sleep, physical activity and I have difficuly turning my head around when driving. I would NOT recommend the procedure.

Hi Lifestyle Lift Discussion Boarders,

Face/neck lift and eyelid surgery are not "commodities" to be purchased at the least expensive price. Surgeons are not commodities that can be enlisted without investigation.

We are talking about patient's faces for the rest of their lives. Mistakes or bad results cannot be covered by clothing. Certainly there are surgeons who get great results, but there are also those who are responsible for the tragedies documented on this discussion board. Please consider choosing your surgeon most carefully.

Good luck and be well.

Dr. P

This lift is a skin only facelift, first used in 1904 without much success. The scars are bad, scars never go away. The pull on the earlobe moves the ear forward and the results are minimal.

unfortunately I see lots of patients that are unhappy about there LSL. They were over promised and under delivered. I have plastic surgery friends all over the country and they see similiar cases.

Carol S, I too like you looked worse after the lift than before. All the promises and hype and then the horror of it all and that is not the worst part. I felt so Stupid. Like I should have known better. Then tonight when TV46 CBS ran the special at 6:00 and I wasn't the only one, I felt like I had been avenged. Only thing is my purse is still 6,300 light and I still have facial scarring that will never go away and numbness that is permanent. I too had to have the procedure redone, the entire thing due to my eye and ear deformities due to the surgeon. How are you doing now????

I would like to add that anyone wanting to view the video of the CBS 46 interviews with the patients and Dr. K follow this link: http://www.cbs46.com/health/18000035/detail.html

Here you can see the interview with the patients and Dr. K. and read the comments of others. Please take the time and leave a comment there.

DR
I am 2 yrs post op. I as told by the DR that he was a plastic surgeon& also all the employees at LSL. I was also told it would be a small incision in front of both ears in the folds, once healed, you can hardly see it. For me, I wanted a fresher look, no major surgery, by a PLASTIC SURGEON as their website claimed in '06. That they only hire the 'best of the best Plastic surgeons'.. What I got was a quare-like incision nowhere near the folds, a left earlobe pulled down, sewed to my face, numbness severe pain, with weather changes, It feels like someome is literally tearing the skin off my face. I also have chocking sensations* a mottled area not right below my chin, but a bit further down. I still don't feel my ears or the side of my face& If i try to wiggle my ears it hurts in the lobes as well as the side of the neck...
I've been to 3 Plastic surgeons& am currently being treated by a neurologist- mainly blind, since they don't know exactly whats happened or was done to me. You may click on my ' nickname' to email me privately, if you would be so kind as to do so.. I know many women that have the same sensations& pain that I do. I also have stitches coming thru my skin behind my ear that look hideous! I was lied to, misled, given the runaround for the longest time. I've seen one of their real PS who said he can't guarantee I wouldn't become worse. When I mentioned the DR that did mine cut into my temple, he swore that was impossible cause they don't go that far up. Good thing the off. mgr sat in on the meeting& told the PS the other Dr frequently goes into the temple. His jaw dropped....I still don't know what's exactly been done beause they didn't keep a surgical report on me Kent said these procedures are tailored for the womens needs. Hmm, right. Not one mention of what they did to me. If 1 in 300 stitches make their way to the skin& they do 40,000-60,000 patients, thats alot of complications, ya think?

BTW, The DR didn't determine if I was a candidate, the consultant did, but I didn't know she was not a nurse!
Thank-You

The LSL doctors are NOT plastic surgeons, they are Board Certified, Ears, Nose and Throat Surgeons (otolaryngology). They do a 6 to 12 month fellowship training that allows them to call themselves 'facial plastic surgeons'. If you go back and look at their site you will see this. They, in general, are not board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Does this sense?

Most could not take you to a hospital to have that type of facial surgery performed. I am sorry that you are having these problems. Continue to spread the word of your experiences. Good Luck.

Dr....thank you for your honest comments. I had the LSL performed almost a year ago and still suffer with numbness and itchiness deep within my skin where the surgery was performed, as well as horrible scars behind one ear. My ENT surgeon convinced me that he had more training as an intern ENT than most intern plastic surgeons have, etc.....he was very convincing. Let me see how he feels when he has to answer to the state licensing board. Thank you. For the life of me, I do not understand how LSL can continue to operate with their "bait and switch"operation, but they do.

Again, thank you for the kind words.

Dr...I can assure you that I researched my Dr, who although not a licensed plastic surgeon, assured me that as a licensed ENT, had done countless hours of this kind of surgery in his lifetime of medicine. How was I to know he was an absolute liar?? checking his records with the AMA did not show any issue for concern....

The fault is not to those of us who believe in a system that allows a corporation...a very powerful corporation...to LIE and advertise a bait and switch scam and get away with it.

Dr
Thanks for telling us. When I had mine done in '06, I was tld by the consultant, techs, receptionists& the DOCTOR he WAS a PLASTIC SURGEON.. They all knew what I was aking. At that date, their website stated they only hire ' the best of the best plastic surgeons'... The day I went in, met w/ the consultant who showed me with her fingertips where the incision would be& what to expect from the LSL, I asked if he was a plastic surgeon& mentioned I didn't see it on his BIO. She told me he was relatively new to the practice& the site hadn't been updated yet. I left.
That's one of the very few medical records/ notes in my chart> 'She didn't book'!!.. I had asked for proof& she agreed to mail it. A week later I got some info, none saying he was a PS. I called the main number & was told the same thing, that he was. I called different times of the day, getting other people& asked the same question. All agreed he was a P.S.
Initially I liked him til the day after surgery I saw all the stitches& called the office asking to speak to him& he was ALWAYS in surgery. I told them 'it looked as if my incisions were way bigger than I was ever told &I was very upset& to tell the Dr to call me asap' That was also in my chart along w/ my history& consent. No surgical report, one email I wrote to corporate & thats about it. Abot a yr later I learned what they did to me when I went to the office& was also shown an 'internal memo', on "what to do if a patient asks for her medical records"
Among a $25 fee, it said stall, show the DR&send chart to their LEGAL DEPT....
Three weeks later I got them, but way more papers were in the chart. Many more papers, all not signed by me, exept the ones mentioned above.
I have been to 3 PLastic surgeons & am currently being treated by a neurologist. All of the P.S. said they can't help me because they didn't know what they did to me& may make me worse& see a neurologist & see what that Dr. had to say.
I have black lumps coming out the back of my ear, that are stitches, looks like a stretched (widened) scar/. I have pain in my earlobes,, ear sewn to face which hurts if I touch the earlobe or near that place on my face, sternocleidomastoid which sometimes swells like an elongated knot), a choking sensation under my chin (no lipo) and sometimes a mottled rashlike look under my chin , lower in the mid neck& sides of neck. I feel, esp. with weather changes as if someone has their hands & tearing my skin off my face.
I've also called 4 other plastic surgeons& once they heard I had a LSL, they cancelled my appt. 28 mos is way too long to be in pain & I am worn down.
LSL did offer a revision, but that Dr will never touch me again. Once a month, a real Plastic surgeon comes in& I saw him& he doubted he could make the pain go away & the scars, possibly make me worse. How can I ever trust a Dr again, what is my next step?
I need advise.
