my understanding is that the seattle lifestyle lift office is relatively new, so probably aren't too many patients out there.  Did they give you any references (or is that not done?)?

I would love to hear more- I have been wondering about the Lifestyle Lift- I believe it is just a branded name for a routine face lift. I would love to hear about your consult, who your doctor was and what they said. Please share- I too live in the Seattle area.

I live in Seattle, Wa. I am going to interview with the facility here next week about having the LSLift.

Anyone in Seattle have any experience with the Life Style Lift procedure?

I'd avoid the LSL route and go to one of the top plastic surgeons in Seattle for facial surgery.

Take a look at Dr. Nacify or Dr. Portuese rather than some heavily marketed service like the lifestyle lift. Either of these docs can give you the equivalent or better of the lifestyle lift.

Actually I had a really nice experience with LL. Not in Seattle, but Boston. To explain what they do a little, they do a full SMAS facelift but using their own technique which is what makes them special. They use local anesthesia, which is safer because they don't put you under, which I felt more comfortable with. The cutting is very minimal so you should heal faster than a normal face lift. They put permanent sutures under the skin so it should last for quite some time. Oh, the cost was about a third of what I planned to pay for a full face lift. But, like I said, I had it done in Boston. A face lift is only as good as the doctor performing it, so be sure to judge it based on the Doc in Seattle. The consult was free, too.

My husband and I both had the lifestyle lift on December 26, 2006.  We are still in the healing process also, but we feel we were misled about a few of the details.  Dr. {edited} and his assistants were very professional and are also good at what they do; however they are not telling the truth about how long the procedure takes or how long the recovery time is.  Their advertisements are false to the point of being misleading. They give you all this hope and assurance you can go about your normal life in a weeks time, and that tis certainly not true.  I felt like a product on an assembly line, do as many as you can  in a day.  Only time will tell if it has been worth the pain and expense. good luck to you!

How are you guys doing? According to the hype, you should be doing well by now. I, too, am scheduled for a consultation on Jan 24, but have been doing a lot of research and am more confused than certain. I just turned 63 and think that, perhaps, I'm beyond the more desirable age range.

We are healing pretty slow, according to what we were told. We still have stitches that they told us would be gone in a week. The staff was very good with us, but once you are done , you are done. No one has even called to see how we are doing. We still feel there was some information that is misleading, but overall we are satisfied with our results. It really does take a lot more time than they tell you.

banksr, We are all wondering how you are doing. How about the pain. Are you able to give the price for just a LL without the lipo? Would you say 1 week of pain or what? Do they leave some kind of sutures in your body forever?

A friend of mine had a mini lift like LL and she was amazed at no pain. She looks so much better. She had a eye job too. This was in Oregon not Seattle and was not the LL procedure.

By the way does anyone know of a hair transplant Dr. with a good price? Gets expensive to look good. But oh well plan on living a long time and feel great. I have gone to natural Dr.s for 25 years and keep getting healthier while my friends are all on drugs or getting surgeries for this and that. Just need to have the face look as good as I am inside.

I just had a lifestyle lift by Dr. {edited} on Feb 6. It  wasn't too painful I was only on the pain med for the first  day cause it made me sick so Ive been taking x-ta strength Tylneol. I'm pretty swollen even though I have Iced as  suggested I feel pretty good by day 3. Does anyone know how long it takes for the swelling to go down so you look almost normal? How are those of you doing that had it a while ago?

I am also going for a consultation tomorrow the 16th of February in the Seattle office. For those that had Dr. Young perform the surgery, how have you healed? Are you happy with the results? I am nervous about using someone that I do not know anything about. I would love some feedback!

Thank you so much!

I was scheduled for the LSL with Dr. {edited} in Seattle in Jan but I got the flu and had to cancel. I was disturbed when I told them at the Seattle center that I had contracted a virus and was coughing a lot (little did I know how much worse I was going to get!) They were unconcerned and ready to proceed with the lift saying only if I were running a fever would they want to postpone the lift. I related my concerns personally to Dr. {edited} about this as well and he confirmed that if I wasn't running a fever it would be OK. Luckily (it must have been serendipity) I got so much sicker by the day of my scheduled surgery that I was forced to cancel. I shudder to think if I had gone in for the proceedure what would have happened to me. I worried that there might be an ethics problem with a surgeon willing to do a proceedure like this when the patient told him they were sick with a virus or the flu. Now after reading all the posts by other LSL patients I intend to do a lot more research before I have this surgery done. I'm sure my 10% deposit is forfeit but that is better than suffering a bad result or no ultimate result as so many have reported.

I had the procedure on 2/13 with Dr {edited}. The procedure was pain free and very little pain that night. I only took 1/2 pill of pain meds. After that just extra strength Tylenol worked. However the swelling the third day was considerable. Even though I iced every hour religiously, my ears and eyes swelled. The nob in my ears are bright red and very swollen. My hearing is a little impaired because of this. I still am in no pain but I am uncomfortable because of the swelling. I tend to panic when I am not sure of what comes next and have visited the doctor not only the day after the prcedure but I have been back two more times. There really wasn't enough information on what to expect. Luckily, there was another patient that had the procedure 1 month ago and told me that she experienced the same thing. She looks great now and told me to just wait. A good tip she told me is to buy a wedge pillow and stay elevated for about a month. Also you can use a antibacterial ointment on the stitches and buy a latex free wrap. Good luck!

Hi, I went to Seattle office and am realy thinking about getting it done. What i want to know is your scaring around your ear. Is very noticable, is it small. Is it in front of you ear, or inside of your ear.
I have check out some sites to researched the lift and I did see in some places they did a bad job and a lady some bad scar on her face.
I know it's the doctor that makes the differnce. Did you realy like the doctor and did he see you before and explain the surgery to you.
Thanks for your help. Nana,

I went in for a consult for a Lifestyle Lift in Seattle. I wasn't sure if I was ready to have the full lift procedure (I'm 46), but I knew that I definitely wanted to get rid of the thickness under my chin. After talking with the consultant I decided that I would have lipo under my chin and wait a couple of years for the lift. I wasn't pressured in any way to go for more than what I was comfortable with. I had a pre-procedure consultation with Dr. {edited}, who answered all of my questions. I had the procedure on Feb. 6th and have healed nicely. I am 3 weeks post-procedure and I can tell the difference, although from what I have been told it can take 4 to 6 weeks or longer for complete results. I feel some lumpiness under the skin, but that is slowly subsiding. Dr. {edited} called me the evening after my procedure to see how I was doing, and I went in the next day for a follow-up appointment. I will see Dr. {edited} again on March 6th for another follow-up appointment, then I think I'm done.

If you think the LL is for you, do some research. I wasn't fond of the high-volume, "get 'em in and get 'em out" feeling I got. I think I would want a little more personal care if I do decide to go with a lift. Other plastic surgeons perform the procedure, although I think they charge more. Overall, though, I'm happy with my experience at LL with Dr. {edited} in Seattle.

I agree with the "get 'em in, get 'em out" feeling at the Seattle clinic. I went in for a consult, had the appointment with a technician, not a nurse or doctor. You are placed in a room with a LCD screen TV and watch a short video about the program. I admit that I was caught up in the idea of looking younger and getting rid of my jowls! Then the tech comes in a starts the "hard sell". Why they even had a cancellation that had come up 2 days later, and I was offered a $400.00 discount if I took the appointment. I did schedule for a month later and it's a high pressure atmosphere to get the patient to 'sign on the dotted line". Be careful if you have "buyer's remorse" - as when I did decide to cancel (within the very short time period that is listed on the consent form), they stated that my cancellation was not received in time and my deposit would be forfeited. I had spoken with the clinic manager at the time of cancellation but was told later that no one had received my call! It took awhile and I proved my case with phone records, etc - and after 4 months, I finally had my deposit refunded. I have heard similar stories from people at work, who had friends or family members that had problems. I did not get a good feeling about the ethical standards they have - if you are looking for a cheap fix and are willing to risk quality, then go with LL. I am a nurse who works in a large hospital - after my experience with LL, I was informed by a plastic surgeon who has his own clinic in Tacoma, that he has done several repairs from former LL patients. I am grateful that I found out before it was too late.

I was really uncomfortable with the assembly line "get 'em in and get 'em out" atmosphere, too, as well as the lack of medical staff - although Dr. {edited} was very impressive. She seems like a brilliant plastic surgeon and frankly I wondered why she would even be there. They seemed to have a number of nonmedical sales people, whom I wondered if they work on commission. I, too, was offered a $400 reduction in the price if I had the procedure done within the week because of an "unexpected cancellation." The office management is very poor - I was left waiting for every appointment insidiously long, as were others every day I was there. None of us in the room were happy. That was a big tipoff to me - I figured they were overbooking in order to work on percentages of successful sales vs those who passed. I decided to have my surgery outside this system in a hospital after I was handed a FOUR PAGE "aftercare" list of instructions that would take weeks and even months for recovery. It felt to me like a "bait and switch" operation. Sit up while I sleep? Are they nuts? Nothing was said about this in their *official* procedures pamphlets. If they had been the least bit honest about the procedure and more professional in their demeanor, I might have considered it. But the place felt too uncomfortable. Also I discovered the plastic surgeon/hospital cost is *shockingly* competitive with LL. I expected it to be quite a bit more and it wasn't. Again, I can't say enough about Dr. {edited} being a superb doctor and surgeon, but the place itself felt scammy.

JJ,
Glad to read you had a good experience. Do you have the link, to where I could watch the woman's day by day of events, from before the procedure to after it? I looked and reread your post, but couldn't find it in there. I basically just saw an ad in a magazine for the LL, and it looks like a great result, and am thinking about it, but as you did, want to research it fully, to feel good about my decision, and know all the pros and cons. Thank you for your experience, and please, if you could, post the link to view the patients experience! I am very interested in watching it!:)

HI, I AM GLAD YOU HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE. MINE WAS NOT. I ASKED FOR THE INCISIONS TO BE PUT ON THE INSIDE OF MY EAR AND THEY WERE NOT. ALSO, THE DR. DIDN'T PUT MY LOABS BACK CORRECTLY. I LOOK LIKE AN ELF. I WILL BE HAVING CORRECTIVE SURGERY DONE BY ANOTHER DR. AS I DO NOT TRUST THE ONE I HAD.

My impression of Dr. {edited} (Brilliant) and the office staff (overbooking, not very medically professional) was exactly like yours (guest 3/2/07). The day after surgery, I went back for my postop check and was concerned tht the area around my right ear was considerably more swollen than the area around my left. The fluid was suctioned, I felt better, but no sooner did I get home than it was even more swollen than when I had arrived for my appointment that day. I called the LL clinic with my concern with every intention of coming right back in, but the receptionist asked me if I wanted to make an appointment!! I told her I wasn't making an appointment, I was coming back in.

That incident most keenly demonstrates the incompetence of the staff. Though I could give you another example or two, suffice it to say I became my own advocate. Dr. {edited} opened my right side back up and cauterized an oozing vessel. Her skills and her concern for my outcome was very apparent. She was excellent, but I cannot say the same for the front desk. In spite of my minor complication, I am quite happy with the outcome (2 weeks out).

Just a follow-up. I had lipo for the thickness under my chin, having decided to wait a couple of years for the full LL. I went in for my 4-week follow-up appointment and was left waiting for over an hour. I decided that was long enough and left the office. I got a voice mail from the office the next day, asking if I had any questions or would like to reschedule my follow-up. No thanks! That was the third time I had been kept waiting. That's a terrible way to treat patients. I'm not even going to call them back. If I decide to have any cosmetic procedures I will most certainly go elsewhere. Do your homework, don't go for the hard sell. Really think it over. I think I'm really lucky that I didn't have the full LL done.

I posted a comment a couple days after my 3/6 procedure in Seattle but I don't know which site it went on. My surgery was performed by Dr {edited}. It has now been 2 weeks and I am happy with the results. I read all of the posts on the subject and was quite frightened by the date of my proceure. I agree with all the negative comments about how Lifestyle Lift Corporation operates. You are not told the truth about the post-op up front. I met with the 'marketing consultant' and they showed me the 'pull the face back' thing and I was, of course, impressed. They had a 'special discount' going on and I could get the Lifestyle Lift and lypo under my chin for $4300. If she 'hurried out to get the appointment book, we could try to get me into a spot of a cancellation'. My surgery was scheduled for 2 weeks from that date. I did not have a consultation with the Dr. at this meeting. An appointment was set up for my consult with the Dr. for 1 week from that date and 1 week prior to the surgery. During this week, I discovered this Real Life site and scared myself to death. I also realized that my appointment with the Dr. (where you get the facts) was 7 days prior to my surgery which left me no time to think it over and possibly cancel w/o losing my deposit. I met with the Dr. and was told the facts; the most critical for some people, was that recovery would take more like a couple of weeks & that the surgery could take longer than 1 hour. I have the ability to telecommute from home so the 2 week recovery didn't bother me too much but the Lifestyle marketing approach to the whole thing made me leary. I finally asked myself if I would have the surgery if I had known on the first consult what I had since learned and the answer was "yes". My surgery lasted 2 1/2 hours and I felt very little discomfort. I have a high tolerence for pain, but the only things I felt at all was the first shot on each side of my face. Be prepared, there are many shots (I lost track) but no pain for me after the first ones. Dr. {edited} was great. She showed concern for my nervousness and care for my high BP condition which is controlled by meds. They gave me a couple 'relaxation' pills and one half of one for my BP which was a bit high due to my anxiety. I relaxed immediately with Dr {edited} and had full confidence in her. We chatted about dogs and various things throughout the procedure and I was amazed when it was over to find I had been in the chair almost 2 1/2 hours. I was given some pain meds but it turned out that I had reactions to codeine so I used nothing more than Tylenol throughout my 'recovery'. I religiously did the 'icing' and wore the wrap 24 hours a day for 7 days that Dr. {edited} requests.
I had minimal bruising and swelling and when I cut down on my salt the swelling decreased dramatically. I was out shopping the next day with my wrap/scarf and though I looked like a refugee, I felt great. I took 2 more days of vacation and then worked from home for 4 work days returning to work looking absolutely 'normal' after 9 days total. I could have returned easily after 7 days, but telecommuting works so well, I waited until virtually all of the swelling had disappeared.

I believe that the satisfaction of Lifestyle clients depends absolutely on the Dr. - not the marketing company. I am 60 years old and I look at least 15 years younger. The results are subtle but great. The first acquaintance I ran into upon returning from work asked if I had had my hair cut.

I would certainly recomment Dr. {edited} and I have read good things about Dr. {edited} as well.

LSL success obviously depends on the doctor performing the procedure. The problem is that most doctors working at LSL are relatively young and inexperienced and there are typically not busy enough in their own private offices so they work for LSL for a discounted fee. You get what you pay for and if a discount face lift is what you are after, then LSL could be the right thing.

I have heard a number of horror stories from people who have had the procedure:

People screaming from pain of injection to the point that adjacent offices were alarmed and came into LSL to make sure everything was OK!
The procedure (just the face lift) lasting 5.5 hours (advertised as lasting 1 hour!) and the numbing medication wearing off several times and needing to be injected several times.
People having to take lots of Valium to tolerate the pain, then being allowed to drive home!
Having to spend 3 times the cost of the LSL to fix the scars, and problems created by LSL.

Glad your experience with Dr. {edited} was good.I've been doing some research tonight on this doctor, after my best friend texted me in a panic this a.m.(Wednesday) from the ER of Swedish Hospital, Seattle, where her mom ended up less than 24 hours after Dr. Young performed the Lifestyle Lift on her ,and where the ER staff was trying to "stabilize" her. Let me first say, the surgery itself didn't seem to be the problem ...it is assumed at this point it was the medications given to her by LL staff. She had significant pain the night of her surgery (Tuesday) and little sleep; they had given her percoset for pain, but she had not taken all of it.They had also given her blood pressure medication, and perhaps one other med (can't remember). She showed up for a VERY early a.m. appointment today (about 6:30, I believe) to have her surgery checked before being sent back home (they live a couple hours out of town and had spent the night in nearby hotel). A staff person (nurse? I don't think so) gave her a quick exam, and then told her to be sure to cleanse the wound when she got home, but gave her no instruction on this cleansing. My friend (who had spent 18 years in visits to Children's Hospital with her terminally ill daughter, and who knew a lot about procedures and what questions to ask of doctors as a result) insisted that she needed to be shown the wound-cleansing procedure so that she could do it accurately at home. the staff person said they didn't normally do that, but my firend insisted and ,finally, she agreed. During the cleansing, my friend's mom suddenly complained of dizziness, and nausea...then again...and again...then her head fell backward and she passed out in the chair. (Apparently the staff person had left the room for something before my firend's mom passed out), so my friend ran into the clinic hallway calling for help, and luckily Dr. {edited} was nearby and came to see what was wrong. This is what she (and I) find so unsettling... he tried to revive her mom several times, but it did not work. My friend told him to call 911, but still he hovered over her mom, calling her name " M......., wake up! wake up!" (Note: "M" is 70 years old, with known high blood pressure). My friend said nurses(?) were running around in a disorganized fashion as he called for a defibrillator, not seeming to know what to do or having any practiced procedure for this kind of emergency event. My friend again insisted Dr. Young call 911, and he finally agreed. Her mom finally regained consciousness, but started vomiting uncontrollably. Everyone in the room was worried about what the increased blood pressure from the heaving and subsequent dry heaves would do to the stitches on her face and neck...and my friend worried that her mother was becoming dehydrated rapidly. She ordered the doctor to call her mother's doctor, and some of the staff tried to do this but were unsuccessful. She then told Dr. {edited}, who seemed to have no protocol to follow, that her mother needed an I-V. He replied they did not have anything like that in their clinic. She decided she needed to get her mom to a hospital right away..and called her mom's doctor on her cell phone herself, and made contact. He agreed that she need to go to the ER. She asked Dr. {edited} to get her an ambulance, but he suggested she drive her there herself (note, her car was in valet parking at a hotel at the time)thinking she might object to the cost of an ambulance. Finally, an ambulance was called and she was taken to Swedish Hospital, where she was declared dehydrated and received an I-V and finally stabilized after about 3 hours. They questioned the medication for blood pressure LL Clinic had given her, saying it was extremely strong and what they usually used for heroin addicts! Apparently an empty stomach and reactions to the many meds had caused her nausea, fainting and illness. It did not seem to be from her surgery, and she has to spend an extra night in Seattle as a result so she can be checked tomorrow by Dr. {edited} for any damage that might have occurred to her surgery from the vomiting episode. What upsets me (and my friend) is what might have happened to her mom had she not been there to take charge, recognize dehydration and the severity of the problem, and insist on 911, an ambulance, instructions from her personal physician and hospital care in lieu of the non-existent I-V. Seems to me that even dentists' offices have trained personnel on their staff to deal with these kinds of episodes, which can become deadly if not treated promptly and with competence and knowledge of what to do.

"M" may end up with fabulous results from her LOL -- only time will tell, but this afternoon as she lay in a hospital bed in the ER, she was saying she should NEVER have had it, and her daughter said she would NEVER do it and urged me (I had considered the possibility, but was waiting to see M's outcome)to NEVER consider a Lifetime lift.

I had the LL in July, I initially liked the Dr. I had problems 2 days later& the Dr wouldn't call me back. When my stitches were taken out 12 days later, then the scabs went awy, I noticed my left ear lobe was totally sewn shut. I was told the incision would not be seen& would be in the natural fold of my ears. Untrue!!!! When I went back, the DR said the make the sewn left ear lobe would be too risky& he could sew the right one to match the left. Unacceptable due to it looking stretched down& the incision was clearly visible. To top that off, I've been in bad pain. Shooting pains in my earlobes, worse on the left. Creepy crawling like sensations on the left, sometimes the right. I can't sleep on my sides due to the pain. On the backside of my earlobe, I have stitches coming thru the skin, kinda like missing a spot when shaving your legs( nubs). I also have on each side 2 nodules I believe to be the permanent stiched coming up to my skin surface. I can't wera a coat cause it hits the botton of my earlobes& I get shooting pain/ I emailed them of my problem& someone from corporate called & said she'd contact the LL lift officve i went to& get right back to me. They never did& it's been a week. They just don't seem to care at all. I mentioned getting a refund& she said that was highly unlikely. I've done some research& found my Dr was fired from the hospital he practiced at & has 2 yrs probation on his medical license. It seems he has jumped from stATE TO STTAE& TO ANOTHER COUNTRY. I saw another Dr & he feels I have nerve damage. articular nerve& said any DR can recognize it& stay away from it. It's a sensory nerve that affects the sides of my face& earlobes & warns me to not have surgery again, so I am basically stuck w/ the pain... So, I have 2 earlobes that don't look alike& can't wear my hair back or up. I have stitches showing behind my left ear.
The Dr could care less.Corporate can care less.
On their website, they claim how easy this surgery is& how it lasts 8-10 yrs. My jowls are alreay, after 8 months almost back to pre-surgery. The new Dr said he gets many patients in from the LL to get some relief. One lady has taken dow all her mirrors because she can't look at herself@!! Now, I have to pay out of pocket, to see a neurologist. I don't feel i had to pay the $125.00 for the plastic surgeon or who knows how much to see a neurologist. My insurance won't pay.
Also on thier website they INSINUATE thjey do extensive backgrounds& their doctors are board certified. NO TRUE. If it was would L.L. have hired him being on probation???My Dr is NOT board certified in plastic surgery. I also notices they stopped advertising the ' you can go back to work the next day) whAT A JOKE. i COULDN'T EAT, OPEN MY MOUTH FOR 5 DAYS! i ATE SOUP FROM A STRAW. aS OF THIS DATE, i STILL CAN'T PUT THE PHONE DIRECTLY AGAINST MY EAR, DUE TO PAIN.
I am not one to sue, I actually liked him, until his attitude & unwillingness to call me back or even apologize. I'd hate for others to go thru what I am going thru.
Oh, he also either knicked, cut& repaired the nerve that affects my left eye. When my eye closed, I got pretty scared& screamed out,' whaT'S WRONG W/ MY EYE'? tHANK gOD AFTER 5 DAYS, IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL.
i AM VERY UPSET...What has your Dr said & did he offer to make things right?
Anyone, please feel right to email me& compare symptoms...
Good Luck

I am getting scared after reading horror stories about the procedure not lasting very long. Is there anyone out there who has had a lifestyle lift years ago? If so how happy are you with your results?

I am 56 years old and have sagging skin , turkey neck and jowels.

I am sceduled to have a lifestyle lift April 26 with Dr. Young. After reading all the negative feedback I am having second thoughts. My biggest concern is that it wont last and I will go through all that pain and money for nothing. Email me at {edited} so we can chat a bit about proceedure.

Who was your Dr? I am to have ll done in Seattle. Where was yours done. I feel so bad for you and have questions about board certification. Seems they are all board certified in head and neck surgery but not board certified plastic surgeons with Amer board of plastic surgery. Unless I am missing something. firefly

Hi, I am going in with Dr. {edited} on the 25th of May. I have called all the references and gotten good if not great responses.

How do you like yours DD? I am having chin lipo and a lift. They told me to allow two hours. They have been very nice and professional and personal.

I am concerned about healing time and if I can go back to work n Tuesday. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Hi, I had my LL on May 25th. Yes it was a hard recovery but I found the doctor and the tech really sensitive gentle and kind. I went in early the day after and Dr. {edited} removed some fluid. It was over Memorial Day weekend so he had me come back in on the following Tuesday and took out more fluid. Veru concerned very on top of it. I had my stitched ut on the next thurady. Still some swelling and bruising ut I am headed off on a busniness trip the Sunday following...ten days later. I feel pretty good. Tight for sure. My ears look funky but all in all I am glad I did it

I am going to have my procedure on Thursday June 7th in Seattle with Dr. {edited}. I watched the whole set of video clips on My Lifestyle Lift Video Journal and found them to be really worth while. I think I now know what to expect. And I think I understand to do everything that the doctor orders. I will report back in on my experience.

I had the procedure Thursday afternoon, and it is now Saturday evening. I am very glad I did it. Having said that, I will say that the procedure was more difficult and painful than I expected. I am extremely tender headed. I think that my face is very sensitive too. As the procedure went along, I had to have many more shots of lidocaine than is usual. The "pulling" sensation from the lift was the hardest. But I don't regret a minute of it. The results are fabulous. The doctor was wonderful. I had a question that evening, and he called me right back. I went in to his office the next moring for my first follow up. He drained off the built up liquid. I have been taking all the meds as prescribed without any difficulty and am following the protocol carefully. I have emailed photos of the results to my friends. They are impressed. So is my husband. He said I look 20 years younger. So far, so good! I am sore and still have some swelling and some bruising, but expect to be able to attend a social event on Monday night without wearing my neck/head wrap. To be continued....

So what happened? My experience at the LL clinic in St Louis was very nice, I moved to Seattle, they transferred my file. I was very turned off by the rude office manager guy, and it is truly a assembly line production.
Dr {edited} is that---he is 35, been in practice about 5 years. He doesn't have any "bedside" manner---but my girlfriend said he is well recommended and gets good results, so I am scheduled for next week.
I am getting nervous about the pain, the healing and the results. What was your April 21 experience like?

I had my LSL on May 25 - performed by Dr. {edited}. I was very pleased with how I was treated by him and his staff. He was patient with my questions and encourged me to call if I had any more prior to my procedure. My procedure lasted approx. 1 1/2 hours, as I was having the lift and some lipo under my chin. The injections we're too bad, and I was given a reasonable amount of pre-meds to keep me relaxed. He followed up that night with a phone call to make sure I was OK. I went in the next day and had a small amount of fluid drained.

Afterward, I followed the instructions to a T. I went back to have my sutures removed at one week, then back to work 9 at days after my surgery. (I planned it around the Memorial day holiday and took a few days off.) People who know me well commented on how wonderful I looked. (I only told a handful of folks about my procedure.)

My husband wasn't a big advocate of my having this procedure because he thought I looked great "untouched" but he supported my decision. He took a few days off to take care of me (although I didn't need it, I think it made him feel better). Now he keeps looking at me and telling how great I look. He is completely SOLD on this and has shared my story with some others. (He's a bit chattier about this than I am!)

My friends are amazed and so am I - I take for granted how I look until I see a picture of me prior to my surgery. I'm 52 and the consensus from my friends is that I look like I am in my late 30's. You gotta love it!!

I had the procedure in Seattle last Thursday by Dr. {edited}. This is my experience to date: The office seems efficient and the staff are friendly, a little overly friendly referring to clients as "hon". This is off putting for some people but it really didn't bother me. They do move you through very quickly but after all it is a business. The staff is well prepared and there is a lot of written material as well as video and staff discussions.

They are adept at moving anyone who seems unhappy or looks bad on a post op return to the back very quickly. Smart.

Dr. {edited} is personable and knowledgeable. Everything that happened was explained to me still, I was surprised by the amount of post op pain I had. I had a bad reaction to the pain meds and spent two days vomiting which did not help the healing process. I believe this is a personal response and does not reflect on the pre or post op care I was given. Dr. {edited} was available by phone to me a number of times over the week end, was concerned and checked back with me as well as called in additional prescriptions. He asked me to come in on Monday to make sure I was getting better. I am having a problem with fluid collection although I am carefully following all the directions. A nurse removed fluid Monday had me come back today for more fluid draining and I am going back tomorrow.

The follow up has been excellent and each time the Dr. {edited} as stopped to speak to me.

I don't know that I would do this again given the amount of pain I am experiencing however I do believe this is an individual case and does not reflect badly on the procedure overall. I will reserve judgment until the swelling is gone and I can truly assess the results but if I had to make a decision right now I would not do it again.

The Life Style lift site does not list Dr. Stella as a Dr. with them. I Would like to know if anyone can answer these questions:
Is Dr. Stella gone?
Has anyone used Dr. Santos? If so, what was your experience?

I am not seeing alot out on the internet on either one of these Dr.'s, although I see more on Dr. Santos than on Dr. Young. The lack of information out there, especially on Dr. Young, scares me.

Thanks!

Had my LL with neck lipo on August 14 with Dr. {edited}. All I can say is that I can't believe I waited so long to have it done. My jowls are gone. My neck has definition again. It was a painless process and I very much appreciated the local anesthetic rather than general. I was seen immediately at my pre-op and post-op procedures and was able to talk to someone when I called with questions. It is critically important to follow the post op instructions. There was more swelling and bruising than I expected but it resolved in due course. I stayed home until August 29th and would encourage anyone considering this to schedule enough time off work in the event that you do experience more swelling/bruising than expected.

I have NO regrets whatsoever. Dr. {edited} was great. I look 15-20 years younger.

It's been 8 months since your LSL. Just curious, are you happier now that you've had more time to heal?

I appreciate your comments about your LL experience in Seattle. I have an appointment there next week, but am now reconsidering after reading many of the comments. I live in Tacoma and was interested in seeing the Plastic Surgeon you mentioned here. What are your feelings on him? Would you go to him for a face lift? Would you tell me his name? Of course, this is confidential. I moved here recently from Southern California and really don't know many doctors in the area or any plastic surgeons.
Thanks again for your thorough review of your experience. Even on the phone, I felt they were "pushy", already talking about discounts.

Dr. {edited} next to The South Center Mall near the SEATAC airport off of I-5. He also has over 20 years experience with facelifts This is the one I am choosing INSTEAD of LSL. When I went in for my free consultation there were others who had done the LSL, but were disapointed because it didn't last very long. Go in and check out his VERY thick books of before and after shots of his work.

I've found a plastic surgeon in Federal Way who I think is really good. He did a tummy tuck on me & I love it (I'm 65 -- by body looks 26 now). If you'd like info about who he is e-mail me. I can also NOT recommend 2 plastic surgeons in Seattle.

Unfortunately, the office staff for the above Fed. Way doctor all need better training in dealing with patients. But I am extremely pleased with the TT outcome.

My friend and I are scheduled to have the LL done in Seattle June 25th.2008 She alerted me to this web site and (she) is now somewhat hesitant.
Anyone out there like to comment one way or the other?? I'm not daunted necessairly, however I like to be informed.

Thanks,

I'm considering the same. I scheduled for June 26.

I haven't heard anything regarding reasons for cancelling this. But I am going to cancel today, if I don't get any reassurance from satisfied clients.

ann who are the doctors in seattle to avoid? I have a couple to add to your list. Please let me know as I'm looking to have something done soon.
Thanks.

I am scheduled for a procedure in late June. My daughter is getting married on July 19th. I am only 41 (turning 42 in July) but I lost about 56 lbs from a weight loss surgery and my once full face is very droopy. I was overweight for 15 years. It has been over 2 yrs since my WL surgery. I wanted to get the surgery done before the wedding. It is scheduled for June 21st. Do you think I will be healed enough? I am a teacher so have the summer off.

I had the LSL in Seattle on May 18, 2008 with DS. I am 10 days post-op. I had the LSL, my upper eyes done and my neck done. The neck was a 1300 add on. I chose the neck procedure after meeting with the doctor. The consultant did not feel comfortable saying I needed my neck done and said I should wait to talk to the DR. I felt no high pressure to make that decision nor was I pressured into any procedure or to give them a deposit. The procedure was brutal and I don't think I would do local again even if it does save thousands but that is just me. It was not painful, not even the shots, just didn't like the sound. I think this is a very personal thing. The first 72 hours were rough and I could not have done it without full time help from my adult daughter during that first three days. She did the ice I did 15 minutes on and 15 minute off for 72 hours made a huge difference. She cleaned my wounds and helped me shower and wash my hair on day three. The only pain was when the numbing wore off. I took no pain meds except XTylenol. I never got sick. They gave me Kflex an antibiotic anti throw up supositories(sp?) and if I could have taken them narcotic pain medicine. I had a folowup at 48 hours to change bandage and suture removal on day 6. On day 9 I drove home 3 hours by myself. I should have waited another day I had a meltdown when I got home but was glad to be in my own bed. I still have lots of swelling and ice every 2 hours now. I had a little infection in one of my eyes for a couple of days I think I put on too much lube and clogged my duct. I put warm black tea bads on my eyes for a couple of days and it cleared up. The worst is sleeping sitting up it has been hard on my back and legs. I walk every day and I have given myself 30 days to be better I think that is realistic for me. I have no idea what the results are I am still too swollen and bruised to tell. I will let you know. I think if you go into this things knowing it is a surgery and plan for help for as long a you need it and have ALL your aftercare products lined up you will be fine. This is not a simple procedure with recovery in days for most of us. I just hope results will be worth the long healing process. BTW I was given aftercare instructions with three emergency numbers and feel I can call the nurse anytime with questions or concerns. I have not had a feeling that they got my money and now I am on my own at all at least not at the Seattle office. Hope this helps someone.

I personally think you should wait to have it done. If you even have some complication, no matter what, you will not be up & around. It's been 6 wks. since my lower lift & chin lypo. I look good, but 2 wks. ago I was still swollen and my stitches behind my ears were still "crusty" and sore. You can't miss your daughter's wedding!!!
