I has my LSL in September. I am very happy! I also found out I am a Type 2 diabetic four days after I had surgery. I was a bit concerned about my healing process after I found out but I healed very well. I also had Lypo under my chin and I notice everyday that it looks better and better. I am amazed at some of the people who post on these boards. You have to take responsibilty for yourself. Ask the proper questions and follow all the directions that are given to you. I had post op questions and the office was very helpful. My Doctor even had me come in the morning after my surgery to check me out and answer questions for me! I had my surgery in Dallas and I would do it again today!

I'm also considering a LSL in the Dallas office. Actually have the procedure tentatively scheduled for May with Dr. Orten, rather than Standifer. Any comments from actual patients?

Will someone who has had the LL done in Dallas please post? I am considering doing this, have an appt for an evaluation on Saturday, am getting married in April. This will take 3/4 of my savings, and I don't want to do it if the effects are as temporary as some say, or if there is danger of disfigurement or severe pain afterwards. Someone please advise ASAP.

I used Dr. {edited} back in July. I was not very impressed with him, and lift wasn't fabulous, but it's ok. My left ear sticks out much farther than my right ear now and I don't care what they tell you, your lips do spread.... The eye lift was ok, but there is alot of pain and swelling and it takes about 8 weeks for recovery with the bruising and swelling. Good Luck.

I had this done at Dallas office. I still have pain with sleeping, turning my neck, and general sharp pains in my neck all the time. I have rope feeling areas more on my left side of neck and bumps around and behind the ears. I am very unhappy with the results and feel like LSL is very deceiving on how the procedure is done and what kind of results you get. I am scheduled for another procedure in Feb. I plan to cancel this appt. I plan to seek another opinion on what they did to me. I can't even wear my hair up at all and my ears are sore and disfigured.. I still have numbness to my face and all the areas pulled up have fallen. This is not a good procedure and I think it would be better to seek a true plastic surgeon. If anyone can help me find a good lawyer please reply.

I had the lift done in Dallas office. I am very displeased and have constant pain in my neck both sides if I cough at all I get sharp pains and migraine headaches, my ears are disfiguired, I have numbness to both sides of my face, incision sites are still tender, I fell fluid in my ears when I touch my face near ear, I can't turn my neck right or left without pain, I can't wear my hair up because my jugular vein areas are enlarged and have rope thready areas that are to noticeable, My friends said after the surgery that it looke jagged at the incisions near my hairline in front of my ears, and said they could have made a better cut. All the areas again are sagging and it started right away as soon as the swelling went down, until then I thought it was ok, now no one comments other than to say what are you going to do.
I am very upset, depressed about it and don't know what to do. I was told when I went to get the sutures out I could speak with the doctor, and when I got there I was told no, and that it all looked fine, at that time it was just noticeable that it was falling. I told the office tech I was displeased and she said give it more time, I also told her I felt ripping on both sides and that I was afraid it was tearing, she said no, that was not happening, she asked me if I smoked, I said yes once in awhile and blamed this to be the cause.
Before I left I asked again to speak with someone who knew more and was taken in a office with door closed behind me and told again I was at fault because I smoked some. I felt like I was treated unfairly and my personality torn into. I am a nurse and I am not stupid. I feel these people are deceiving and no one in that office at the time of the surgery nor after have been truthful. After my surgery, that was delayed until late that day, I heard the tech assisting, tell another tech when asked, are you upset she replyed oh yea big time. That made me feel real bad at that time. I know the Dr. probably was tired and the tech upset and now I have been left with these problems. I am very embarressed of the way I look now and ashamed to admit I'm afraid to go back and complain because there staff make you feel intimidated, and add to my low self esteem. I want to get this fixed but don't know what to do. I will be seeking opinons on what to do when I feel better, but have been feeling poorly since I had this surgery. I don't know if I should seek legal action or ask for another surgery, I hurt so bad all the time, I'm scared.

I have a friend who wants this, but I am not sure it is a viable alternative. Would you consider being a reference. I told my friend to speak with 3 former and recent patients of {edited} in Dallas, and that if all were satisfied, then maybe I would proceed.
Would you possibly be a reference?
We could have you leave permission with the MD office, and I can have my friend call MD to get your info??
Thanks

I'm considering a lift in Dallas. Since you were satisfied, which doctor did you use? Judy

Hi !
I have read alot of blogs and I would not get the procedure. I went to the office in Dallas ansd actually looked better than the staff woman. I was taken to a little room with worn out furniture. A woman popped her head in and said I will get with you for financing before I had ever had a consultation !!! That was a big red flag. She put a video in of the same commercial on T.V. I had run into a Plastic Surgeon earlier that does reconstruction only...he told me never to have a face lift ever...he stopped me due to my bonestructure and his work. He was here for a convention out of New Mexico. This lift will not last and their are chances of scars and there will always be scars where the hair line is. Due to that ...people will always know you had a face lift. I am so glad I did not do it and thank goodness and sadly people that did posted their experience. Sometimes we think just because we get older we think we need work. If I ever did any work on my face I would do a subtle change. =Everyone of the people that had this done, has their hair covering the scars !!! I WOULD NOT DO IT>>>SAVE YOUR $$$$$

I had upper and lower eyes and facelift done in June of 2006 by Dr. {edited} in Dallas. I had very little pain, healed quickly, and found that they were very truthful in letting me know what to expect. I am just now getting full sensation back in my ears, but that hasn't posed any kind of problem. My face looks so much better. I do notice some sagging of the chin again which I will ask the doctor about. I would definitely recommend Dr. {edited} as he did a wonderful job for me.

I had the lifestyle lift back in January 2007. I am very pleased with my results. Dr. {edited} spent about 30 minutes with me before the procedure making sure I understood what was going to take place and what type of scars I would have from the procedure. I have no visable scarring in the ears or in front of my ear . I do have a small pink line that runs from my ear to my hair line in back of my ears. I had the lift and lipo in my chin and the chin lifted as well. Also even though you look like you are healed quickly the doctor pointed out to me that it would be 6 months to a year before I was completely healed.
I will tell you that the procedure itself was not very painful but the day after was a little painful for me. But you are having surgery and no surgery is completely pain free. The pain was kept under control by the medicine that they prescribed for me.
I would have the procedure again. I would say it took at least 10 years off my face and gave me the chin I have always wanted.
Dr. {edited} is a well respected surgeon in the Dallas area and I would feel no hesitation to refer anyone to him or to have him perform another procedure for me.

I too am strongly hesitant to believe J Fought's feedback / legitimacy. The grammar, spelling and punctuation are inconsistent, as if an intelligent person was trying to sound less like themselves; and, a nurse would not only be more professional in writing about this subject, but would know much more about the clinical details, descriptions, outcomes and options. This sounds like a person who has no clue about medicine, clinical matters or protocol. Furthermore, a professional nurse most likely wouldn't be posting this kind of thing to a general public message board with questions. She would be seeking input directly from clinicians in her immediate surroundings / clinical community. With those things in mind, I tend to agree with the other poster who believes J. Fought may be an imposter or fictitious poster. It's sad that some people will go out of their way to destroy a good thing for others. My friend had the Lifestyle Lift done in Dallas and it went exceptionally well for her, not to mention that she looks at least 10 years younger and she's 4 yrs post-op. I'm considering it for myself.
I suggest that anyone who is considering going under the knife for ANY reason, do substantial and indepth research from a variety of sources to get your facts and make a well-informed decision. That way, you can only blame yourself if things don't turn out exactly the way you hoped. Most of the time, our expectations are beyond reality and it is we who need to adjust our thinking. When you're dealing with the living tissues of human beings, there are no guarantees whatsoever...so don't kid yourself. Any number of bad, unanticipated things can happen with surgery and there are a rare few quacks out there who can do a lot of damage, but most of them are not U.S. licensed surgeons. If you do your research, you'll know all there is to know about your physician, # of procedures performed over what period of time, his/her success rate via direct and indirect referrals/references, etc. I would only put myself in the most capable of hands. I would not choose one doctor over another because of price...you're talking about your life here. Lastly, if you're going to do something like this, be 100% ready to take responsibility for the outcome. After all, no one chose your doctor, dragged you in for pre-surgical evaluation or tied you down to the operating table. It's time we stop looking for someone else to blame for our discomforts and dissatisfaction. Every single thing we do in life originates from our own choices, yet we always want to blast someone else when we don't like the outcome of the chain of events that unfolds from those choices. Stop whining and DO something if you're so unhappy, and keep DOING something until you have resolved your problem! Be smarter about it this time.

I am very disatisfied with my experience at LIfeStyle Lifts. I scheduled an appointment based on a television advertisement that promised no swelling, rapid recovery, and no scars. No sooner had I sat down in the private sales office than the saleswoman admitted to me that the video overstates the case. She admitted that you will have scarring around the ears, swelling, and bruising . I wish I had never left myself get talked into this. I committed the $400 on the GE credit option. Then I left and went about the business of researching this approach. I learned that the LIfestyle Lift is It is just a regular facelift. The only difference is that this one is done without anesthetic so you don't have that part of the recovery. I called the office and tried to cancel and get a refund but they would not let me do it. The contract states that you have a limited number of days to cancel, and I was past that deadline. So, I have lost my $400 deposit.. But in the meanwhile, I have seen how they operate, and I want no part of them at all. In the end, I am glad that I learned what I know about them. They are running women through that clinic so fast and are booked up for months in advance, so they couldn't care less about you. If you go forward with this, be aware that you will be signing away any right to complain about the condition of your face and they take that release very seriously! You will have no recourse. You will also have no relationship wtih the doctor who cuts on your face. Knowing what I now know, the $400 was a fair price to pay for this education. I wouldn't consider doing it now. There are non- surgical alternatives available, and I will take one of them.

I had the Lift done in the Dallas office almost two years ago.
I was very pleased with the results. I looked at least 10-15 years younger.
However, it is falling now. My Dermatologist told me that it is known not
to last more than a year or so. That's ok, it was worth it.
I do want to point out a couple of things. This is true what one person posted:
I can't wear my hair up because my jugular vein areas are enlarged and have rope thready areas that are too noticeable behind the ears.
You will not do this procedure on your lunch hour. You may even be off of work for a few days. The bruising is going to be there.
I personally wouldn't do this procedure again, but I'll go for a full face lift next time that would last longer.

I am having my LSL and my eyes done by Dr. Standefer on July 26. Please tell me of your experience. I am sure that you probably know that I am a little nervous right now. I look forward to hearing from you.
7/15/07
I am having my LSL and upper and lower eyes done by Dr. Standefer in less than 2 weeks. I was a little nervous about it, but after reading some of the entries here, I am really.............nervous. Can you please tell me about your experience with Dr. Standefer and everything that you did to insure your recovery. I would appreciate it so much. Thanks.
7/18/07
Did you have this procedure? I have appt Aug 13th and I am very nervous, backed out

I am scheduled to have the lifestyle life done in August: however; I am now hesitant.
In reading some of the negative comments and horror stories; I don't know what to do now. I did talk to a lady that had the lift; she was satified with it. I am scheduled with Dr. Orten. In lookng at his site, it shows his education and degrees; but not his professional practice. This is in Dallas. We did put a down payment using our Care Credit card of $400. Can anyone give me an insight on what to do?

Thanks for your response. I guess everyone that is on these forums is wondering if the people that write in that they are loving their Lifestyle Lift are for real or if maybe they actually work for Lifestyle lift. You just never know. My appointment is not till June and I'm still doing research on it and debating. I would love to have good results but don't want to have something done that perhaps has a big chance of being screwed up. I know there are differences with everyone in medical procedures but I don't want to have it done if there is a high percentage of mess ups. I'm not worried about the pain or swelling, as long as it goes away within a reasonable, expected amount of time. Thanks again for your response.

it's been one week since I had my Liftstyle Lift. I love it. There was bad pain the first night but the meds dulled the edge a great deal. I am still swollen and have to wear my hair down over the sides of my face..But I can already tell the difference is amazing..My ugly jowls are gone..My fat chin gone..I pray it lasts..I lost at least 15 years of aging..I look fresh, smooth, and healthy..The change is sutle but very enhancing..My advice is do it..I had the procedure on Thursday evening, went back to work Monday.

My procedure is in Dallas next Friday At 11:30.I am becoming increasingly terrified as I read some of the comments.I am having the face and eye lift.I am very concerned about having sskin cut away on my eyes....Anybody?Anybody? Please let me know if you've had this done.I only have 4 days off from work and I'm a nurse.THANKS!

Betty,
I just had the LL, and both the upper and lower eyes done on September 13, with Dr. {edited} in Dallas. The procedure wasn't bad, I slept through most of it. Came home, and slept until the next day. Pretty painful, but not unbearable. I used four ice-bags, the smaller ziploc ones with crushed ice in them, for the first 72 hours. Not for 15 or 20 minutes at a time, but for every minute I could. No one told me to do this, but my swelling and bruising were minimal. One ice pack on each eye and front of the ear, and use the other two on the stitches on the back of head. My surgery was on a Thursday, and Friday I felt good enough to do laundry. On Tuesday, I put on a little makeup and went to my sons football game. Everyone I encountered couldn't believe how minimal the bruising was. If you only have 4 days off, before you go back to work, you do realize the stitches around your eyes don't come out for a week? I wore my glasses, and that helped cover those stitches, because they are blue. Got the stitches out from my upper and lower lids on Thursday, but the LL ones don't come out until Monday the 24th. I went to work that night (I officiate volleyball), not a good idea. Not because I looked bad, but because of trying to blow a whistle. I decided to take the doctor's original advice(don't go back to work for two weeks), only because of what I do. If I had a normal type of job, I could have gone back to work on Monday. Today is Sunday, and I started wearing my contacts again, yesterday with absolutely no problems. Right now, I am thrilled with the procedure and I hope it remains that way. I think if you go into it, with realistic expectations you won't be disappointed. Dr. Standefur, was very honest with me, and never promised me perfection. He told me he would do the best he could with what he had to work with, and I felt comfortable with him. I don't know about you, but he and I spent almost an hour talking about my procedure. I can't commit about the scars, because I still have my stitches in, but my eyes look great. I'm afraid some of the comments you read are from people that were maybe hoping for more than could be delivered. About wearing your hair up, I have wore mine up since the surgery. I don't think the stitches look that bad, and I really don't care if people know what I did. My thought was that if I didn't want anyone to know what I had done, why bother. I wanted a dramatic change, and I hope I achieved it. Good luck, with the surgery, and don't worry about your eyes. For the first time in a long time I wore mascara, and my eyelashes didn't lay on my upper lids, leaving a lovely black line across my lids. That alone almost makes the blepharoplasty worthwhile.
No Regrets In Corinth,
Donetta

Just wondering if any one has had this done in Michigan and was happy with the results. I talked to one on another post and she was very unhappy with it. I really was hoping this was my answer to my aging face. Help!!!

The best thing you can do is "GO WITH YOUR GUT FEELING" If you are having any doubts about the surgery you should wait. I have not had the lift, but I have been reading some disturbing comments about it on this site. Again, go with your gut feeling!!!!!!
1/21/08
I had my lifestyle lift on January 17, 2008. I am happy so far with the results. There is some swelling still and bruising on my neck. The procedure itself wasnt bad at all. The worst part probably was some of the numbing shots, but not too bad. I had some pain the first night, but if I had taken the pain meds right away I probably would not have had any problems. I get my stitches out on the 28th. I will let you know my thoughts then.
1/26/08
Please don't do it, it's not worth it when it doesn't come out well, and you could be one of the numerous people who suffers immensely as I am suffering. I will continue to suffer for the rest of my life because of this procedure. The doctors will not tell you this information. They will simply tell you that there is an inherent "risk in every operation".
Dr. Standefer was my doctor, and I don't know how he could perform this procedure on women knowing that even ONE of them will be suffering like this.
I was in such pain after my surgery in June 2006 that I insisted Dr. Standefer see me in person, even though he resisted. He entered the patient room, took one look at me and said, "Fine, you're beautiful, go home and have a party." I was so flabbergasted, I couldn't speak. There was no diagnosis, pain consulation, or even the slightest curiosity as to my well being. I had no choice but to return home.
Three months later, the pain was still so intense, I returned to his office yet again, desperate for some sort of diagnosis, some reason for the continuing pain. Having a REASON for this pain would mean that a solution was near, and an end would be in sight. I repeated my complaints to Dr. Standefer, and his suggestion for the solution to my pain was so perfectly designed to repulse, it made me speechless again. His suggestion was to surgically disconnect a muscle in my neck......I left his office, and never returned again.
Subsequent visits to surgical physicians via refferals from Dr. Standefer resulted in multiple steroid shots, and multiple pain prescriptions, from Hydrocodone to Lyrica, none of which completely alleviated my pain or discomfort.
Side effects from this procedure have prompted nuerological scans, from my brain to my spine. I have taken innumerable prescription pills with positively hellacious side effects. After all this, my pain, this nightmare, is STLL not over.
I challenge any doctor of excellent moral fiber who reads this to contact me via email to discuss my case. I am open to comments or suggestions, basically any kind of conversation that can lead to recovery and a re-entry into my life.
I can be reached at billyvalk@att.net.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my story.

This forum is so helpful! I had the consultation last week in Dallas and am scheduled for a lipo and lift in April. The promo videos are so convincing but I do not know anyone personally who has had this done (or who admits to having had it done!) The more I read, however, the more I am wondering if I might just want to get my deposit refunded and leave well-enough alone. I wear my hair up and during the consultation, I was told that the scarring behind the ear would not be "that noticeable unless someone is looking for it". Well, just that makes me nervous. Until reading the posts here, I just assumed the results would last quite awhile; this is too much effort and expense to undertake for short-term benefits!
Thanks to each of you who have written and I would welcome any further advice/experience.

I feel good about having the LLL and my upper and lower eyes done.
Everyone experiences pain differently.
The ones that have a positive feeling going in I believe will experience a positive result coming out.
I am having mine done March 15, 2008.
I am so eager.

Would love it if those who have experienced positive or negative reults could apply their before and after photos.

Good luck getting your deposit back. In November, 2006 I went for a consultation and put down a $200 deposit. My surgery was scheduled for July 2007. I misunderstood the surgery agreement that I signed at that time and thought I could get my deposit back if I cancelled within one week of the surgery. When I called to cancel and request my deposit be returned, I was told that I had to cancel within one week of the date that I signed the agreement to receive my deposit. Therefore, I did not get my $200 back. They did tell me that it would still be there if I decided to have the surgery at a later date, although the actual price of the surgery would probably be more. I cancelled because I got scared (this was even before reading these posts) and decided it was just too much money to spend. Now I am considering the surgery again when I turn 50, in a year and a half, but after reading these posts I don't think i'll take the chance!
4/7/08
I am schedule for May 7, 2008. I am very concerned about having this done after reading such conflicting stories and results. Would you please tell me how yours went. I don't mind losing the $400.00 deposit if it means saving myself some disappointment.

I hope you didn't go through with it. I had mine done in Dallas in July 08. Already getting the jowls back and the scar behind esp. my right ear is bad and very noticable. I can not believe a plastic surgeon did this! I have had moles removed from my face before by a plastic surgeon and you can't even tell! Don't do this! They sewed my ear lobes down and they were always hanging before! Can't get used to that and the scars itch and tingle terribly!
9/8/08
Jerre, are you happy with your lift? I just had mine done about 5 weeks ago and I still have swelling, so I cant give an honest answer if I am happy with it yet.
9/8/08
I did it, and it has been about 5 weeks, I still have swelling, or anyway I hope that is what I have as the Dr. lipsuctioned my face and I hope that it is not scar tissue I am seeing and feeling, I have had lipo on my body before and I know sometimes you can have some scar tissue from that. I will give it a couple of more weeks before I decide if I am really happy with it and before I would recommend it. I had it done in Dallas.
