Have you tried Latisse for thinning hair?

By Tuff Puff on 15 Jun 2009

Has anyone tested Latisse for thinning hair, especially for people who have had no luck with other products such as Rogaine?

I've tried it on my eyebrows for the past six months, and while it did make some of them longer, I have noticed no change in the amount of new hairs. It would have been great to grow in a few of the spots that need to be penciled in.

Actually, I thought of this as well and tried it myself. In my case, the solution worked amazingly on my frontal scalp area. Its 50% thicker than before. I think its not growing new hair but holding on to hair longer instead of shedding at too fast a rate.
Latisse doesn't work that well on the hair on the head but that being said, there hasnt been a study looking into that option. On the eyebrows, latisse also works well. Hope this helps.

Good question. Latisse does not work on the hair follicles on the head due to the lack of the right receptors in the follicle. I does however work on increasing eyebrow hairs.

well....that may be what the medical community thinks but my personal experience clearly shows otherwise & i'm not the only one to have had this result. Even before Latisse hit the market my dermatologist suggested trying it on my thinning crown hair. i had def tried everything else so we both figured what could it hurt except my wallet! in the beginning all i did was use it on my lashes & rub any product that was leftover onto my scalp & forgot about it. I had great results with my lashes & after about 12wks my hairdresser was the 1st to notice hair 'sprouting'. Pretty soon i had about 1.5" standing straight up but a lil hairspray fixed that. i was just elated that i couldnt see my pink scalp as much....was it thick? no..but it was most def new growth. so my experience def doesnt support your scientific info regarding difference in follicles etc. its interesting tho....is the hair follicle different everywhere we grow hair....because most of us who have used Latisse can probably say that theyve noticed hair growth anywhere the product lands ie: below the eyes, on cheeks etc if you dont make sure to wipe it off your face! tho im not a dr this has been my personal experience & im thrilled with the results even if its NOT supposed to work on thinning hair on me it has!

I have thought the same thing! I wonder if it is because that, for some people, the skin darkens slightly. Nevertheless, I am curious about that. (I think it would be ridiculously expensive to use on the head...)
