Is it too late to fix under eye edema?
By scaredinfl on 21 Apr 2011
I had sculptra about a week ago. I wish I had read the postings on this website before making this dangerous decision. It's understandable that my face would be bruised and swollen from this procedure, but three days ago, the area on the top of my left cheek began to swell with edema. I went into the PS office yesterday with my concerns and was told it was normal for the amount of bruising I have. I am very concerned, though that the left side of my face feels fuller and looks fuller than the right side. At the time of the procedure I got the impression more was being put into that side of my face.
After reading these forums, I now suspect I was overfilled on that side and possibly too close to my eye. How many vials should be used in the first Sculptra treatment? It seemed like she had endless syringes to poke into my face. My question is...will the edema go down, as I have been assured? Would it be a good idea to have saline injected there and in those other slightly fuller areas to ward off the possibility of future nodules? I don't plan to go in for another other sculptra sessions...but what if it fills in unevenly? How can fix it without resorting to sculptra again? I am so upset. I keep having anxiety attacks about this. Can't sleep...worry constantly that I have been ruined for life. Any suggestions?

When I smile, it is very noticeable that the left side of my face is fuller. I try not to look at myself very much and continue with my obsessive massaging.
Are you still massaging? I'm afraid to stop.
You are 10 days, so you have only inflamation wich will fade away. Sculptra needs at least 1 month to show any result.
Keep me updated!!!
I think was over injected in my left check in the same way. My cheekbone on that side looks abnormally high, which makes my face look even more gaunt and thin than before. When I smile that cheek looks really fat and distorted. When I don't smile it looks even worse because of the big bump.
I'm so depressed and for the first time, I'm suffering from anxiety. I feel jittery, nervous and upset all the time. I have lost weight and can't sleep. I can barely stand to look in the mirror, and when I do, I have to try not to cry. I also feel pressure in that side of my face and sometimes aching pain. It's a nightmare.
I already had high cheekbones and didn't need filler there. There is still no fullness under my cheeks, so now I just look like a bony freak.
I do have bumps. All over. One on each side of my mouth, one on my chin, one on my lower left jaw, some by my ears, and at least one or two under the big bump.
I can live with the little ones if the big one would only go away.
And I massaged 5 times a day for ten minutes for THREE WEEKS!
Are you taking photos? Someone else on here advised me to do that every few days and make sure they have a time date stamp on them. That way we can sue if it comes to that. Which it sounds like it might.
Again, I'm so sorry for both of us. Please stay it touch. it helps to have someone who understands what I'm going through.
