Is Lapex 2000 effective in reducing fat?

By sassybreck on 06 May 2009

What do you think about the new machine, Lapex 2000? Does it work? They claim it reduces fat without any surgery. I'm thinking about doing it, but it hasn't been out long enough for me to find a lot of testimonials.

You have answered your own question. The new technologies brought to the marketplace are often not well tested nor are they proven effective before releasing them on the unsuspecting public. Until about 5 years of substantial clinical experience has taken place with a new instrument, I'd save your money and not be their guinea pig. They won't refund you the money if you aren't happy!

My husband is a surgeon and we just had a sales rep come and demo this machine in our office. First of all, I'm not sure if you would be a "guinea pig" since this machine has FDA clearence and has already been tested, but I agree with Dr. Rand that we don't know the long term effects. That said, we took a patient who was very large in the midsection and hooked him up to the machine. We measured before treatment at 52" after 45 minute treatment, he measured 48.25". I was impressed with the results after one treatment, but we are financially unable to purchase the machine at this time for our office. Anyway, they said the retail price is around 200-300 per session so as long as they would let you buy one session at a time, I really can't see you would be out of a whole lot of money (as compared to a surgery like liposuction) if you felt it didn't work for you. If you do end up doing a session, can you post on here if you did get results? I would be interested in knowing if you had the same outcome as our patient did. Thanks! -Wendy

I actually tried laser lipo today with the lapex 2000 machine. I went to a laser instutue in my area (Edmonton, Ab - Canada) I'll admit that I was and still am a little skeptical. Overall it was a good experience. According to the Technician my measurement around my waste was 36.6 after my session my waste measured 35.6 My stomache did feel a little tighter and the little blazer that I was wearing was fitting a little bit looser. My session was to be 40 min in length but she gave me an extra 10 min. She started by placing the paddles on one side of my stomach close to the the love handle area. She left them for 10 min then placed them on my mid section and so on. I went ahead and bought 10 more sessions - they were having a promotion and I will get one session free so in total I will be doing 12 sessions. I will be reattending next week for two sessions and will continue to go twice a week until my sessions are up. Also, after my session she placed me on the whole body vibrating machine to jiggle everything up - good thing I didn't eat before :) Anyways, while I am doing this I will continue working out in the gym atleast 3x a week & will stick to a healthy diet. The following are my stats to date: Age: 27 Height: 5'6 Weight: 147 pnds Waste: 35.6 I'm not overweight but after having my Son 3 years ago, I have a classic case of mummy tummy that I would like to get rid of, so that's why I am doing this. During the next little while I will take my own progress photos and do my own measuremnts to verify that they are correct. I'll keep you all posted on the progress. :)

I had my first session with the Lapex 2000 today. I'm looking to lose inches from my bottom/hip area. I've never been proportion. Skinny on top big on the bottom. Anyway- my technician measured my hips at 30 centimetres smaller after the laser treatment. I then had a session on the Power Plate vibrating machine. It was fun but hard ork! She said I should do another proper workout within 48 hours of the session or the fat gets reabsorbed. I didn't know that. All in all I'll withold judgement until my 8 sessions are done. I think the technician is serious about getting me the results that I want so.... we'll see. Next session is Friday 31st July.

I've done my 3rd session today and I can definitely see a difference in the shape of my bottom. I lost another centimetre on my left. It seems that I am losing more on my left than my right. I think the treatment so far is ok. It seems to be for people who excersize regularly anyway but can't shift spot fat. Keeping up the excersize is important to get the right result. 5 more sessions to go..

The Lapex technology is proving to be as advertised. It is a great alternative to an invasive and painful liposuction procedure. The treatments are from $250 or packages of 9 can be bought for $1800. The device is used with exercise and diet recommendations and is really easy and pain free. I know several MD's that have the device and are very pleased.

I'm also from Edmonton and have been using the Eurowave. The tech said I lost 1 inch off my waist on my 5th visit, but it doesn't feel like it on my clothes. I will have my husband measure me lying down as they do to be sure. I also am using the Vibration machine. I am an athlete (well not so much at the moment), and exercise 3-4 days a week vigoroursly (although I have a sweet tooth) and I am not sure yet about the machine. Yes I am skeptical, you see had actual liposuction on my lower abdomen and have actually lost weight since getting it done, but now I have a wider waist line and so I was told to use the Eurowave. I am thinking of Lipo Laser but wondered if you can go only one time and continue Eurowave to get the result wanted. I want to get rid of bout 1" from my ribcage to my belly button, you see just under my breasts now I stick out from the change in my body. Any suggestions?

I have an appointment this Wednesday, April 7 for my first Lapex 2000 treatment and I'm really skeptical. It seems too good to be true! Is it? I'm looking for people who can fill me in on their any or all of their Lapex experiences. Was it worth it for you?

I have had 3 sessions with the Lapex2000 and liked my results, which were: 1st treatment, waist/love handles area, lost 3/4" 2nd treatment, upper thighs (late for app't and didn't measure) 3rd treatment, upper thighs 1/2 inch off my left thigh, no immediate change on right I signed up for a 10-package deal so I am excited to see the "final" results after the 10 sessions. I use parentheses around final because this is not permanent fat removal, the treatment just causes the fat to leak out of your cells and into your lymph system which your body then eliminates. The technician told me approximately 40-60 fat grams are released per session. After all three treatments my energy level was amazing. I hit the gym right after (as recommended by the manufacturer--high level cardio to help use up the released triglycerides) and had excellent workouts and a general energy buzz the entire day. I can see this treatment as being a "tune-up" treatment that one would do before summer or leading up to a big event. Ultimately, unless you change your caloric intake/output, this is not a permanent solution as the fat cells are still there, just shrunk. But I would definitely recommend the treatment as a jumpstart on weight loss and for areas where the fat is just refusing to come off. It also seems to be more of a sculpting treatment for people with 10 - 20 extra pounds. Probably the biggest appeal is that there is absolutely no down time either. You just go in, *ZAP*, leave and get your workout on. Hope these comments help. I will post again after completing all my treatments.

That's very exciting and I'm glad you are having great results! I, on the other hand, am not having as good of an experience. I'm on my 7th session and have barely lost 1/2 an inch in the areas treated. I have 1 more session to go but feel it's a waste of time. Although its been paid for so I'll complete the program. I'm very disappointed. I've been eating very well and have been exercising, I'm just one of those people it doesn't work well on. Too bad I had to spend $3500 to find that out. Good luck to you and to anyone else considering the Lapex 2000.

its too bad you did not get the results you were looking for. my buisness purchased a lapex2000 lipolaser after having several demos with out most trusted clients and friends, we found the results do vary. men tend to lose more than women, especially around the mid section. we are getting excellent results on tummy, love handles,"bra bulge",arms and chin. we are not seeing as good of results on legs and thighs. it still works but takes almost twice as many treatments as any other area on the body.we use a whole body vibration before on a lymphatic stimulation mode 3.8 and after the treatment to burn up those free fatty acids that are now floating around your body.however, client selection is a big part of sucess, if someone has an excess of 40% body fat and does not workout reg i would not advise them to do this, unless all other alternatives have been ruled out by cost, invasivness and what results the client expects. i try very hard not to mislead my clients and tell them the truth, this is only 1/3 the process and you must earn you keep in a way.regular exercise is a must as well as healthy diet. I TRY to educate them on dietary needs, caloric intake and talk to them about what excersies are avaliable to them not everyone can go to the gym so i have handy sheets made up of effective workouts for at home, as well as i let them check out books about healthy eating and detox. this seems to work well, it weeds out those who are not commited right off the bat, beacuse im up front about the commitment. i fell this is a great alternative to surgery and it does work, but only as hard as you do. its excellent for brides, vacation or just some summer sculpting but no, i would not expect this to be a one size fits all treatment.

couldn't you lose 3/4" just by not drinking so much water? why spend $1200 for treatments?

Seriously? Dont drink water?

I am on my 9th and final lipolaser treatment. I am focusing on the area below the bra line in the back.. aka "bread back" to some of you. The results are there, the area is smaller, maybe about 2 inches total since the first measurement (though no actual loss on the scale) It's just not as much as I had hoped after 8 faithful visits (extra time at that) plus the vibration machine, post water and gym, walks or biking. I think its great for someone who just has a little chub to shrink, or perhaps "manboob" - I think it would work on me after like, 20 visits, but the cost would be prohibitive and at that point, traditional lipo would be quicker and more cost effective (albeit risky of course) My physician is trustworthy, he would not have bought this machine if he didn't support it. He was very open and honest, gave me the info I need to make a choice, gave me extra time, so I have no problems with that part at all.

I tried the lapex 2000. For me it was a total waste of money. I first had the $100 consultation where the owner took pictures beforehand, placed the paddles on 4 areas for 10 min each, she then took after photos (where I honestly could not see any difference at all) but she and her manager tried to convince me I wasn't seeing what they were seeing.(Big difference they said)-- So bowing under the high pressure I thought I would give it a try. When I got home I measured myself as I noticed they sure didn,t.(no difference).I had 3 sessions in total,I came home and ran on my treadmill as advised for 40 min., used the body cleanse tablets given and was especially carefulwith my diet. I took measurements after each session with no results so I cancelled the remaining 9 (i could still cancel as it was within the 10 day cancellation period.Thank goodness for the Consumer Protection Act) I had originally paid for half of the 12 treatments. The total cost for the 12 was $2800. When I advised them I was cancelling I had to return to the store 4 times as well as phone several times to ask for my money back. I was charged $1000 for the three visits. After this experience I am now going to get "real" liposuction done. So in my opinion don't waste your money, or try and get a money back guarantee.I think if they had been honest up front and not lied about "so called results with the photos) in the consultation I might have gone longer---but so glad I didn't waste any more money on this!
