Breast Lift: Forum
Post to Forum

Ok ladies I need help. I had my consultation today for implants but was told I need a lift

By suzi1968 on 20 Nov 2012

I was told I need an anchor lift before having implants and they can't be done at the same time so I would have to wait 3 months after lift to do implants. Anyone else have this same issue?

HI Suzi, I went for two consultations for a breast augmentation - only, during my first consultation the doctor breezed over having a lift and said I can always do that later (?!?!) At my second consultation the doctor strongly advised that I do a lift in addition to the augmentation. It can be done together ... I understand anchor lift is the most involved and perhaps that's why he is suggesting to do them separately? Maybe ask him and then get another opinion.

Hi Suzi, I had a lift and augmentation at the same time, so it is possible. I had the lolipop incision done and I love my results. I am at 7 weeks postop now. Everything healed up exterally around 3 weeks and I noticed signficant dropping last week. Keep doing your research and make sure you are comfortable with your choice of surgeon when you decide. Good luck.

Hi dream girl, I just had a BL (lollipop) & aug last week. I'm 9 days post op. I've been to 3 post op check ups so far. Steri strips came off & I'm ok with the very thin vertical line. Hoping it will stay thin & fade. Do you apply anything in your scars? My implants are pretty high & swollen but have settled a small amount in past day after doing the massages past 5 days. I'm happy with my results now & doc says they will drop, round out more and scars will heal beautifully. So I'm excited that it will get better.

Hi Tdham, my doc advised that I don't put anything on the incisicions until it was completely healed. After that he said is was healing nicely and I could use what ever I wanted. He didn't push me to buy anything from him as (cause he said I really didn't need to). I started using vitamin E oil and I invested the silicone pads a couple weeks ago. I have only been using it for 2 weeks so I am not sure how well its working yet. I am going to update my profile with new pics tomorrow, so check in and you be the judge. I think I am going onto 11 weeks now and they almost feel just like my own. They still have more dropping to do but they are much softer and I am really happy with my results. My doc said at the 3 month mark they should have dropped well into position. Congrats on your new girls. Each day gets better and better.

Some doctors will do them at the same time and some won't. Of course, it also depends on your body, structure, tissues, etc. You might want to consult with more than one doctor to get ideas of different approaches.

Here's what some doctors say about doing a lift and implants at the same time.
