Kheloid removal help

I just started my kheloid removal process. I tied floss around my kheloid very tightly at the base, it is about the size of a lima bean, if not a little smaller, it hasn't been an hour and its already black! I am scared bc it looks so scary... any advice to help me be less nervous? Was anyone else scared? thanks!
