Juvederm: Q&A

Large Lump After Juvederm to the Lips

I had juvederm lip injections about 2 months ago. I have been back to my doctor once bc the juvederm has pooled up in one area and caused not only my smile to appear odd but a large bump formed. They squeezed some out but I am still unhappy with the results. How long before the juvederm dissolves and what are my options in the mean time?

Juvederm lumps

Lumps of juvederm can normally be treated initially with massage. If it has persisted, then hyaluronidase can be injected to dissolve it. This should do the trick in most cases.

Juvederm

Ask your doctorto disolve the juvederm with hyalurinidase. STOP SQUEEZING - the juvederm is not going to move evenly, and will cause more swelling. Dissolve it and reconsider.

Large lump after Juvederm to the lips.

On average Juvederm resolves over 4 to 6 months. Use pressure compression on the area. Or an injection of hyraluronidase directly into this lump can dissolve it. From MIAMI Dr. B

Juvederm can be dissolved quickly with hyaluronidase

Fortunately you were injected with a hyaluronic acid, because Restylane and Juvederm, like other hyaluronic acids can be dissolved quickly with hyaluronidase.  Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that when injected into these products will dissolve them within 24 hours.  No cutting, draining or squeezing out is necessary.  Lumps should usually not be present if the injector has smoothed out the product after injection.  Make sure you go to someone with experience and a good... more

Juvederm may last more than a year

Without expressing the product or injecting it, the lump of the Juvederm may take more than a year to go away if it is the volume of the filler and not a reaction to the filler that is causing the lump. Hyaluronidase injected into the Juvederm can quickly make the lump go down, although you may need a few treatments. If you have allergies to bee stings then you're not a candidate for the hyaluronidase.

Juvederm Will Take Some Time Before It Dissolves

You should go back to your doctor. Another attempt at expressing out, via puncture, the excess Juvederm is worth a try.  Otherwise ask your doctor if you can have hyaluronidase injected into the lump of Juvederm to dissolve it.  Juvederm, Restylane, and Perlane can all create lumps after treatment. Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that can be injected to dissolve visible lumps.
