I'm here! My date is scheduled for June 23 and I can't wait!!! I just told my kids about it and they are happy for me. I'm not nervous about the surgery yet, don't know why. Maybe because I've had a hysterectomy and an oopherectomy both in the past 4 years. I know it will be a painful recovery but I'm convinced that picturing myself in clothes that actually fit will help get me through it!!!

Hi teachfish70 made my appt w/ Dr F. this Wednesday. Iam also hoping to get an appt, w/ Dr, Garramone soon. Will let you know what happens. If everything works out, I might do it sooner than your date.
MelissaTx 26 Jun 2011
hope you are doing better on the pain

How do you find your photos?

teachfish70, how are you doing? I had mine back in June and i have flat belly but my upper abs seems to be big. Just went to Dr F and discussed this. Said I have to lose weight. I know I have lost about 10/11 lbs since surgery in June. I am very petite, less than 5 ft.

I have a tummy tuck scheduled for June 17. I can wait either.
CyootiePye 16 May 2011
Im scheduled for June 17th too!!!!
GAPeach7 22 May 2011
When is your pre-op appt scheduled? Mine is this Friday May 27, 2011.
fireflyone 3 Apr 2011
I have a few consults tomorrow and if I decide to go through with it, I will get mine in June as well.

Are either of you worried about "missing out" on summer a little? I have read that there is a lot of swelling for months afterwards, meaning "skinny" clothes probably won't fit for the whole summer. That bothers me a bit. What about you?
GAPeach7 3 Apr 2011
Hi
I have not really thought about not being able to wear certain clothes. I guess I will just have to deal with it, that was the only appointment that they had available. I am a little bit anxious about the whole process. I am ready to get it done. What about you all?
greengirl32 14 Apr 2011
Yes, I am totally sad about missing out on this summer! I'm a teacher so I really look forward to spending the summers with my kids. It will be hard to not be able to be outside enjoying the weather, doing all the fun things we normally do.
fireflyone 14 Apr 2011
I'm a teacher too! Guess that is why we can only schedule something like this in the summer....though it is nice to have so long to recover, don't you think?

When is your surgery?
friendly4 3 Jun 2011
I am considering June 17th and also worried about missing out on summer. I wish I planned earlier and did this in April.
Shellybee 7 Jun 2011
yeah I've been thinking that way too but I'm in pretty good shape, I have an attitude of it's gonna be just fine - do exactly as they say even if it hurts start moving right away I know with my hysterectomy walking made a huge difference I was back at the gym in less than 2 weeks
jeanah 23 Jun 2011
I didnt think about it (PO 20 days) and its true I am dealing with the whole swollen thing but, glad I did it finally. I am wearing alot of cute summer sun dresses so its all good. Anyway its something to think about
Mommaflores 25 Jun 2011
Hi, not to worry, my TT was June 1st, swelling is there but I did drop from a 12 to 8, in3 weeks! Try cute summer dresses fr now!
GAPeach7 25 Jun 2011
Sounds good
It actually takes about 3 weeks for the skin removed and far removed to show up on the scale? You are still swollen too? Are u still sleeping on your back and wearing your binder? How long do we wear those things?
teachfish70 3 Apr 2011
Oh My Gosh! I am not anxious at all, maybe because I have been thinking of doing this for sooooo long. I am not worried about my summer because I wouldn't want to be doing anything else with it! One summer in bed will be worth the rest of the summers I will have looking good on the beach at 40+ years old!!! Oh, and I just got divorced 1 1/2 years ago and am still unattached so it's the perfect time for me to reinvent myself.

And as much as I am looking forward to skinny clothes, I know it will be months before I can get into them. I guess it doesn't disappoint me because I have been wearing baggy clothes for all of my adult life anyway, what's a few more months? Plus, it gives me some more time to save up $ for that AWESOME FREAKING SHOPPING SPREE we are all going to go on when the swelling does go down!!!

By the way, you guys have kids? Or significant others to help take care of you? Any jobs to worry about with the recovery?

I'm so glad I already have the two of you to talk with and go through this with in June!!!
fireflyone 3 Apr 2011
I just love summer so much and want to be at the pool....but I think I read that we shouldn't swim or be in the sun much afterwards.

Yes, I have 4 kids...2 of which were over 9 pounds...and the other 2 would have been if they weren't a week early. :) I was all belly.

I'm also married and my husband is on board for the surgery and knows it will require lots of help those first few weeks. As for work, I teach and will be off on summer break which is why I am aiming for June.
GAPeach7 3 Apr 2011
Hello
I only have one child and he is 21 and in college. He won't be any help but I do have a girl friend that will help me for the first week. After the first week, it will be me and my husband. I am going to try to take care of myself then. I will not ask him to take off unless it is absolutely necessary.
I am looking forward to the surgery too. I have been wanting this for along time.
Glad that I have you all to talk with about it.
ashleyyy 29 Apr 2011
I feel the same way about having to miss out on one summer to have a TT. I look at it like this to I wouldnt enjoy the summer anyway because I wouldnt feel comfotable in my summer outfits (shorts tank tops, bathing suits etc...) lol. I agree with you about saving money to go on a shopping spree!!Thats exactly what I had in mind too!!! Good luck with your TT and Im happy we can all play the waiting game together! it feels likeits forever away Im counting down the weeks!!!!!!
fireflyone 29 Apr 2011
Me too! Counting down the days to TT. I cannot wait! This is *exactly* why I am doing this the day after I am finished with work for the summer! I knew if I had even one day to sit around after I got off work, I would obsess even more.

I'm totally daydreaming about all the clothes I will be able to wear soon! Woohoo!
sommiebreezie 31 May 2011

littleolwinedrinkerme 31 May 2011
hi girls was just reading your comments, i had my tt and lipo on 23rd april. yes you do get swelling but i have found its not stopped me from wearing the clothes i want to wear, they look nice..i am wearing my same size clothes i had before, some are a little big but on the whole they just fit nicer. good luck to all of you, and to the teachers, its the best time for all of you to do it in the summer break.
fireflyone 3 Apr 2011
