I am so sorry your in pain still! Could it be from your bra maybe? I get a little sore around my ribcage just from the sports bra band, other than that nothing. Have you told your PS about it? I am not sure if I am just abnormal in my healing lol I saw my PS and I don't have to go back till the fall everything is going so good. I am now working on my scars. I have even started running again with no issues. I am super healthy with my eating, lots of fruit and veggies only lean meat, all I drink is water,no alcohol don't smoke I take vitamins and I workout almost every day. Maybe that has something to do with it? and my age probably helps I am only 29. I feel so bad that your still in pain though :( Have you tried the warm washcloths over them? I did that and it always felt good and helped with my bruising and swelling. Hang in there and I am wishing you feel better ASAP!

Hi Autumn!

I am 28 and have pretty much the same lifestyle profile you listed--I can't wait until I can run again! I've actually had several good days in a row now, besides continued skin hypersensitivity (which my PS said is completely normal). I hadn't heard about warm washcloths--I'll give that a try if I start having pain again. Thanks for the tip!

Hi Seanswife. I'm just checking in to see how you are doing? You are getting close to 3 months post-op and I was wondering how you are feeling about your results, your current size, and your recovery. I'm 11 days post-op and was just trying to get an idea of how the next couple of months will go for me. I read your posts regularly while I was waiting for my approval and then surgery date to come and just got so much information and comfort. Hope you are doing well!

Hi! I'm glad to hear I helped a little bit. I am feeling pretty comfortable now. I have had quite a bit of skin dryness/peeling (I think from wearing my bra so much longer than normal), but I alleviate that through good moisturization. I am exercising comfortably--running, jumping jacks, etc. I'm still a little bit tender on the sides, almost like a bruise under the skin. It doesn't hurt when I'm just moving around, but it doesn't feel great if I press on the area. I'm massaging a couple times a week to encourage "dropping and fluffing." I had a couple of spots on my incisions that stayed open longer than the others, so my incisions weren't fully closed until 8 weeks after the surgery. Everything looks fine now, though.

Regarding my current size, I will be honest in saying that I am bigger than I hoped to be. My plastic surgeon was more conservative than we talked about before the surgery, due to his concern about tissue loss if he took more. I have about 25-30 pounds to lose, and he is confident that if I lose that weight I will be closer to my goal size in my breasts.

They look great. The scars are not nearly as noticeable as I thought they would be--especially the vertical incisions. My husband is very happy with the results as well, and he was rather nervous before the surgery.

Hope this helps, and keep your chin up during the recovery! I had a couple of "freak-out" moments in the first month, but everyone reminded me that my emotions were riding high.

3 weeks post-op, and I'm still having good days and bad days. On days like today I can barely feel anything, but yesterday I was taking OTC painkillers all day long and was really uncomfortable overnight. Anybody have an idea of when I can expect a string of pain-free days?

I'm also still a little sore on the sides of my breasts and underneath and I'm 5 weeks. Getting better everyday though. I have been so busy I forget to take the OTC then I am just bitc!y at the end ot the day. Did get a massage today so a little bit better all over. Hang in ther it will get better. 3 weeks is not that long.

Feeling better over the weekend, and I'm getting a massage today. Being patient is not my strong suit, so thanks for the encouragement!

I'm so sorry to hear that, how awful for you. I won't be much help I didn't experience that, but I'm sending healing wishes your way. I've read about that and it sounds like it will heal up but it takes awhile... Hang in there and keep us updated.

I am now 20 days post-op and just stopped taking narcotic pain relievers yesterday--I guess I have a lower pain threshold than you stronger girls! Anyway, I am now taking OTC Ibuprofen and Tylenol and am fairly comfortable, excepting pretty intense skin irritation from wearing a bra 24/7. Anybody have a good idea for how to get around the irritation/sensitivity issue? I don't want to go braless yet, because it's not comfortable, but my skin is so tender!

On the brighter side, I think my PS did a fantastic job. They aren't oddly-shaped at all, and very well-proportioned. They are still pretty high and tight, and I'm sure there is a bunch of swelling to go down; however, I am very pleased with what I see so far.

are you wearing a sports bar or the surgical bra still? what helped me was I bought these super soft almost t-shirt material sports bra type things at Kohls. I wear one of those under my sports bra, and it really helped. That and gold bond extra strength anti itch lotion in the green bottle is amazing. It stopped all my itching and healed all my dry red skin in two days. After you put it on it gets this cool feeling to it, so refreshing! Glad you like the way they look :)

I'm wearing sports bras--the surgical ones were so comically large that I have not been wearing them since day 3! I'll try the Gold Bond--good idea. I went out yesterday and got one of those wire-free t-shirt bras that has super-soft material, and I'm feeling a lot more comfortable today. I guess spending $8 each at Wal-Mart wasn't in my best interest considering the 24 hour/day wear for my sports bras!

Hi,
has anyone slept without a bra after about 3 weeks PO? i want to do the right thing but I am still so sore with irritation of bra straps. I just can't seem to find bra that feels good. I have tried at least 10. The one they gave me at the doctors hurts the worst.

4 days post-op and I can report that my pain level has definitely decreased. The area under my arms that was lipo'd seems to hurt the most, although I am have random, shooting sensations in my breasts that are more strange than painful.

I am still very black 'n blue (and turning yellow in some places!). I finally got the nerve to take a look and, well, it ain't pretty! But I am psyched about the size change. I was a 34DDD hoping to be a B. My doc does not reduce to a specific size, but we agreed that I wanted to be as small as he'd let me be. Even though I am very swollen, I like what I see!

Ah, the itching is starting now and it's driving me crazy!

Glad to hear I am not alone on that! Is yours along the incisions or the skin? Mine is on the skin all around the breast. The skin is peeling though so I'm thinking it is just from it being stretched so much? Cool air helps, from a blow dryer or I sit in front of a fan! I just slathered on Eucerine calming cream, so far so good...

My PS gave me the okay to use Benadryl. It worked wonders--at the slightest sign of itching, I just took one tablet and was not uncomfortable at all.

I had my BR yesterday. Recovery was a little tough, I was really nauseous! Slept OK and the pain is not really too bad...I am supposed to shower today and I am really scared to take the bandage wrap off. I hope I can find a way to do this without having to take too long of a look :)

the hardest part for me was taking off all the gauze there was some blood and it was stuck in some areas... but once it was all off I was really happy with how they looked! it was not scary or bad at all, even my husband was happy and not at all freaked out. It will honestly just feel very strange when you un wrap them, I walked like I was on egg shells, I literally felt like they were going to fall right back down to where they use to be at any min LOL I am now 2 weeks post op today and I am totally use to them now, they feel great. Worst part is the itching for me now. Other than that just some mild discomfort when I lay on my side but it goes away. Hang in there it is all worth it!

Autum, 2 weeks and no discomfort? Mine still burn at 3 weeks and seem to swell still. I had my badge off at 3 days and in a post op bra. Im up at 2 because I can't sleep.I think I might have done too much too soon. Still tender and oddly shaped, kind of flat at the bottom but PS said it would round out soon.
Glad to hear you are doing good.

I'm sorry your having pain! I am still swollen a little, more so on one than the other, but no pain. Just some tingling/shooting pain every once in awhile. I am still wearing a sports bra too, I am getting tired of it! My PS said they will round out too, one of them looks perfect the other has some ripple type looking parts underneath. Hang in there and take it easy :)
