Hey everyone - I just wanted to say a happy Christmas to all of us, our first one wearing the lovely clothes we never could before! I'm 5 months PO today - absolutely the most liberating thing I've ever done. Still mending - and a little swollen on and off, but sooooo happy about the whole experience.
Here's to a very happy and very flat 2013 for all of us!

It is now been about 4 months so i guess im a veteran. My surgery went well and im pretty sure that my body shape wont change too much more. I have a hour glass shape but i have a little dogg ear that i will be getting fixed the 1st quarter of next year if it doesnt correct itself. It takes some getting used to not having to wear spanx to flatten and shape my middle. Every day i keep thinking that the tummy is coming back or the love handles are sticking out...and they are not. Its like seeing a chubby girl in the mirror for so long that yoou cant believe that what you see now is the new you. For any of you women who are scared to have the surgery..I can tell you it is so worth it. I just wish I was younger anddidnt wait so long.

It's been a while since I've posted--here or on my profile. I'm 11 wks PO (July 26) and am doing OK, but continue to deal with much tightness, swelling, and now various darts of pain in my middle area. My dr. told me that the middle part of the belly will be the last to regain sensation. I expect part of that process includes various pain sensations as nerves and tissues continue to reconnect. So maybe this is to be expected. I am also feeling darts of pain and various throbs in the vicinity of the vertical area of the muscle repair, starting from just below the sternum down to the BB area. Perhaps related to the tight swelling, I also seem to have a new level of tenderness in my mid-section. Normal at 2 1/2 months?

Yes normal I an almost 4 months and still have some sort of tenderness. I do crunches at sit ups no problem and seems more tender after I do them. I still have swelling , more in the mid section at the end of the day but not to bad. Still 100 percent better than want was. I have to go back to the dr next month for a dogs ear . Should be interesting lol
One day at a time lol

I am at 3 months and still have numbness around my BB and swelling. The swelling is worse at night. Doc says it is normal. Just wondering when it goes away. Otherwise no issues at all and have been released by PS

I had the same surgery date as you...and I am tender at site at BB and TT area, but amazingly, not at brest lift...hmmmm. I do have swelling still from time to time, and it seems I have GAINED weight???? SO, anyways, I do like not having the pooch and droopy boobs. I also noticed when I rub oil on my TT scar that it tingles.

I'm finally starting to gain more sensation in my stomach also. Starting to feel like normal again too. I still get sore if I do too much, but each day it seems as if more sensation comes back. I can't wait till the 6 mos mark.

My tightness was worse at night. I would get so tight that it made sleeping uncomfortable. It finally subsided about a 2 weeks ago. I guess te nerves are finally connecting and that sensation has lessened with the connection.

Hmm. Just realised from a comment on someone else's profile update that all photos on our profile pages can be found on google images. Obviously most of them are faceless, and most of us have nicknames which aren't necessarily guessable, but you might want to do a quick search and delete anything you're not happy with being out there... E.g. if I search on my nickname and 'tummy tuck' the whole set comes up - it's one thing to share with you guys, but another to share with the world at large. I know it's unlikely anyone would randomly come across it, but still! Hx

Probably sensible - I've adapted mine, too, and taken face pics off. To be fair, I've just looked at the privacy info and it does say:
RealSelf is a public website. If you choose to post something, that information is out there publicly and no longer considered "personally identifiable information." A good example of this is your email address: We won't share it, but if you share it, it's no longer a secret (obviously).
Please note that any content posted by you onto the RealSelf Sites becomes published content and is not considered personally identifiable information subject to this Privacy Notice.
I guess I just hadn't figured out that my face pics would come up on a Google search next to the entire set of tummy tuck pics, making it very easy to see me in my underwear in various states of pre- and post-op undress. They don't immediately disappear when you delete them off your profile - mine took a couple of hours to go, but they don't come up on a search any more.

I changed my user name to avoid anyone guessing who I am. Guess I am a little paranoid. :)

I feel good and then i see my bottom tummy swollen and get to thinking that it will always be this way. I am wearing the CG garment pretty much all day n allnight. I forget that the healing takes awhile. You ladies here on the site help me remember i still have a ways to go. Im " months post. Patience is what i need.

Girl, we all need patience! I wish someone could just sprinkle some on us and it would be instant. I keep thinking about the one year mark, but first I need to make it the 3 mos mark...lol. People are always saying the best results are seen at between 6 months-year. Is this really true?

I really hope it's true because I'm so happy already that would just be icing on the cake!! Yes, I get tightness at night as well - nothing like as much as in the first few weeks, but some. And sometimes the ab stitching seems to pull in another notch. It just tweaks a bit, or sometimes it's a slightly burning feeling. Other than that, it's all good.
I've been told by my PS to stop wearing my CG... I might secretly wear it if I've got a long day at work as I do feel v secure in it.
I just love my flat tummy though! This is 2 months in for me so if it gets better and better till 6 then I am a very happy lady!

Did your PS say why you should no longer wear your CG Helen?

I think he just thought (rightly!) that I was a little bit addicted to it, like a comfort blanket, and needed to start returning to the real world...

Hey ladies! I've noticed that at night my skin gets really, really tight. Could this just be from the swelling during the day settling? Or am I just crazy...lol. Would love to hear your perspectives on this.

I have the same issues. I am flat in the morning and swell during the day and at night I am tight, I hear this is normal and could occur for 6 months.

Catlady, I hate it! That's the only annoying issue that I'm having. Everything else was smooth sailing. Come on 6 months...October 12th will be my 3 month mark.

Hi ladies! I've been MIA! I'm two months PO and pretty happy wittbth results so far I wanted to ask about the silicone strips the PS recommended for the scar. He sells thems in his office for $100 is there anywhere else I can purchase them? Is that the going rate? Any info would be greatly appreciated I bought the Scar Away sheets but they're very flimsy and small, thanks in advance!
