Hi, I'm Kim aka strickkr and I was originally schedule for my tummy tuck on Nov 8th but had to rescheduled because I developed a sinus infection right before my surgery.  I am now scheduled for January 5th because I needed to coordinate 3 schedules (mines, husband and coworkers).  I was so bummed out when I had to move my date and more bummed because I had to schedule so far out. But the upside is that  I am happy I will be able to start the new year with a new look.  I will also be able to take off more time because my vacation will start over again.  So now, I'm going to take the time to focus on the holidays and by the time I finish my Christmas shopping, I will be preparing for my recovery.

Hi lovely ladies! Got to stay an extra couple days in FL with my girlfriends!!! Really laid back and having such a good time! I miss ya'll!!

I still have dog ears. I'm going in for them again in April. Other than that, I'm thrilled. I could work out more and eat better, but overall, I love how I look.

How extensive is the procedure to take care of the dog ears? Do you have to pay anything or is your PS just fixing it?

No, all included in the whole price, no time limit on when done. It is a 45 minute or so office visit with local. I've done it once. No big deal. Just don't want "pointy" hips anymore. Thought I could get used to it or work it off. Nope.

Hi ladies! So happy to hear everyone is doing well! I have been great and I'm so happy I had this surgery! I was the oddball of the group as I didn't take any Meds and had no pain. I still don't understand it but I'm thankful! I had a light touchup of lipo in oct no big deal really. My scar looks amazing. It flat and very light. I thought since I had it so easy that at some point I'd have a complication but never did. I started working out about 11-12 weeks post op and have done well keeping a routine. Initially I lost 10lbs but I'm sure that eating light was the reason and after I resumed my normal eating habits I put almost all of it back on but I don't feel fat nor am I upset about it. I wore a bikini all summer last year and I just bought 3 new ones! I would absolutely do the surgery again! If anyone reading this is debating to do this...DO IT!! You won't be disappointed, I promise!!

Hi ladies! I am happy to say I am so thrilled I had my procedures done Last January 17, 2012. (TT, MR, breast reduction, lipo of flanks). It was a long hard road to recovery with several complications, but I still don't regret it. I have 5 children, but I don't look it! I do still have some of the lower swelling or hardness in one specific area that has always concerned me, but my PS thinks it will continue to resolve but I am finally able to really work out. I actually had to wear my spanx every day up until this past January because of the bad swelling, and the feeling of my guts falling out by midday, if I didn't, so that was unexpected. But now, I am working out with a trainer, and am stronger than ever. I still have areas of my scars that we're raised and really red, but my PS just did a round of injected steroids...they have finally gone down, but are still angry and red looking. Anyone else experience anything like this? I just think my body took a very long time to heal itself, and is still...but again, I would still do it all over! So thankful I had such a supportive husband and kids! Would love to hear how everyone else is doing!

My recovery was easy, but I only had the tummy tuck, so maybe that's why? I stopped wearing spanx about 3 months out, and I've been running and working out regularly since 8 weeks post op. I still have a small area at the top of my left thigh that feels numb, that's probably the weirdest thing, but my scar is flat and mostly faded. I would absolutely do it again!

January 2012 ladies how are you doing 1 year from now. I had my tt done February 2013 and I'd like to get a feel of how I'll be doing. Any pains still, swelling still present, back to full workouts, belly what you expected etc. Please advise thanks in advance.

Hi everyone... I also have felt great. I have been rocking my new body all summer and just returned from vacation with hubby where I was in a bikini all day and felt great.. What a dream. I have no regrets except maybe wish I had done some lipo on my flanks and hips. I'm thinking about going in for that sometime if it doesn't change from my workouts. I have a red scar that has healed a bit raised and have done lazor and steroid injections to help with that. Even with the raised scare I am happy with the results. I think we should all post 1 yr post surgery pictures to see how far we have all come..! I have been happy to say since my posts on this site, I have helped many women make the decision to do this surgery with my doctor and that makes me feel good that I shared my story..! :)

How have I been missing all this conversation!?! Thx maumeemg for getting me back into it ;) glad everyone is doing well! I'm great other than a small bit if scar tissue buildup around bb doc is unhappy w it so small bandaid procedure in feb will take care if it. Out of the gym for a week but no biggie.

Hey everyone. Can't believe it's been a year!!!! I'm so glad that I'm not the only one without sensation and an angry red scar. I'm sure both will get better but I had kinda come to the conclusion I would just have to live with it until I read the posts. Might still have to but a small price to pay for my four pack;-). It's great to see everyone active and still glad they did it. Sure beats last year this time with all the worry and unknowns!!! Wish you all a very happy and healthy 2013.

Hi Pinklipgloss and all the other January ladies - I can't believe it's been almost a year. I feel so much healthier post-surgery. I completed my first triathlon this past fall. I've been having trouble staying motivated post-triathlon, but still do bootcamp, running, yoga. I am so happy I did the surgery. Full sensation has not returned to my stomach, especially below bb, but I love the way I look and feel. So glad I did lipo on thighs and flanks too. I have gained a few pounds, but I am pretty sure it's muscle.....I gained the weight in the height of my training. My scar has not healed well. It's raised and kind of gnarly, dark purple. My dr is doing scar revision at end of January. Even with that, am SO happy I did the surgery. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday! Great to hear how everyone is doing!

Did you do the scar revision? How did it go? I have a raised red scarf that we lazored and used steroids and I'm not thrilled with the results. The says he can revise the scar not enough skin...:(

I did do the scar revision. Twas very simple. Awake during whole procedure. He basically cut out the entire incision line. It's still red (just did it 6 weeks ago I guess) but it already looks so much better than it did. I had an infection at incision before and healing was very lumpy, even dark purple in places. So, all that is gone and it looks like it will be a very thin line now for the scar. I did have enough skin though..... he must have pulled you very tight that first time!

Glad to hear the revision went so well for you. I have an issue with keloids and knew this was a possibility when considering the surgery . I am still glad I did it and wouldn't change it.. I hope in years it will fade and thin out. Glad yours turned out for you.!

Hi Pink! I can't believe almost a year has gone by! I'm still very happy with my results - my scar is mostly faded, just a few spots where it still has a little color. I still notice twinges in my abs from time to time, especially above my belly button, usually while I'm working out or after. Ad I'm still numb in parts along my incision. All in all, though, I love my results. I still weight exactly the same as when I went into surgery - maybe I need to put down the holiday cookies lol. How's everyone else doing?? Happy Holidays!!

Its good to hear from you! I'm doing well. I still have some numbness around my scar, mostly on my left side. My scar is fading nicely -- still purple in some areas, but I'm surprised at how much duller it is now, plus its flat. I've been running a lot, though really not doing ab work other than planks, etc. I ran a half-marathon on Saturday, and now I'm training for a marathon in October. Its crazy how much better I'm running since the TT, so I'm very glad I had it done!

Hi everyone! So glad to hear from a few of you....I'm doing well too. Love my tummy in my clothes....However, I'm considering going back to do lipo on the back flanks. I know that some of you had that done....what did you think of healing and results with that? I am back to pilates, tennis, etc. but I feel my motivation isn't what it should be. I need to have my plastic surgeon remove some atypical mole tissue and thought he could do the flanks at the same time. Also, I still have numbness too around belly button and front of belly. Feels weird as sensations are coming back. p.s. - does the hair line in the pubic region bug you?
Reply

It does, Trabay - I was surprised at how far the pubic region "migrated" up in meeting the incision line. I feel like I need to have some electrolysis done or something!

I did have an extensive wax done so the incision line is clean.. I couldn't take it. Lol. I just did more lipo a couple weeks ago. Flanks and back. Well worth it so far but dealing with swelling and binder again. Hope all is well.

Hi! Long time no talk! I need to update my profile - haven't in 3 months. My friend asked me about this site and I thought I'd check back in.

I'm feeling pretty good - still some twinges in my muscle repair (while doing ab work), still numb below the belly button. My scar is still pretty red and welty looking. I'm a bit puffy on my hips and back...from exercise? (I'm doing Insanity) from overeating? ('m trying not to!!) Ugh. Maybe it's just because I'm focusing so much on other areas now that my belly looks as good as it ever has. :) I'm working out like crazy and I'm staying positive!

How is everyone doing??

Glad to hear you're doing well. I too are numb between the incision and belly button. I swell a little still after working out but not as much. Scar is still red but a faded purple red my breast incisions are very fine and white hoping the belly gets that way too... I'll update with photos in aug after my follow up.
