Hypertension and my mommy makeover

By So Cal Mama on 26 Mar 2011

I am 36 y/o mother and planning to have my makeover sometime over the summer since I am a teacher and will have the whole break to recover. I have had high blood pressure since I was 30. It runs in my family, both my mom, sisters and several aunts have it. Fortunately, my condition is totally controlled with good eating habits, regular exercise and medication, which is a very low dose. I have consultation appointments with five different PS in the southern california area the week of spring break. However, I am worried that I may be disappointed and turned away because of my hypertension. I've looked on the internet and have found both good and bad advice so wanted to come here and receive opinions from all of you! I was wondering if anyone has been in the same predicament as me and if so were you able to have your MM still?

Hi there,

From what I read here, if your hypertension is controlled, it should be fine. It'd be great to get some input from others who've been through this, though.

Hi. I too have high blood pressure and am 32 years. My doctor had me do a ekg and blood work before surgery. Not sure if that is standard procedure or if the ekg was due to having it. Hope this helps. Good luck!
