I am 68 and uhhappy about my turkey neck apperance. Is there any one in the Houston area that has  had an experience having this problem solved, what doctor and what procedure.

I don't know if I shoud try the new Lifestyle Lift or go the conventional plastic surgery route.  Any help to make up my mind will be greatly appreciated.

My friend recently got a facelift from {Edited}

He works at the aesthetic center for plastic surgery -->had to look that up! My friend looks natural, not wind swept and can't say enough about dr. {Edited} nurses.

I'm 54 and very much in need of a lift in the chin and neck area. I want to hear from anyone who's had the LSL, and whether the results of the procedure have lasted for, say, a year. Also, I'd very much like to hear from anyone with any problems with the procedure.

had lifestyle lift 3 weeks ago - don't know if i would do it again - still having trouble with vision - blurry - still red eyes - results look ok so far - neck still swollen and very annoying - did not have that much work done but after this time i am glad i did not have a job to go back to - this is not a weekend procedure - also without being put out it was awful - you don't feel it but you know it is happening and you are panicing-

Who was the Dr that performed your LSL? Were the results as you expected now? Can you please email me before and after photos of yourself.

Thanks,

Avery,

Did you have the LSL done? If so, which Dr in Houston did you use and are you happy with the results?

I cancelled my appt with the Dr. in Houston, TX and they are REFUSING to refund my deposit of $380.00 and I never even talked to or met the Doctor. They said if you change your mind after 7 days...too bad. I have reported the Life Style Lift company to the BBB in Texas and Michigan(home office). I changed my mind due to mentally I did not think I was up for this being my only child/son just spend 12 months in Iraq and deploying again in Aug 07. So, if you are not sure you want this done, DON'T GIVE THEM ANY MONEY.. they will tell you...well it will guarantee the sale price...which btw has been the same for 1 1/2 years.

I had the LSL done in Houston by Dr Parker. He is very arrogant and egotistical. There is SOME improvedment in my neck area. It looked great after about six weeks, but some sagging has returned (after six months). HE did my under-eye area and left me with drooping lower lids. In the days after the procedure, I had sutures come open THREE times. I found the follow-up care to very unsatisfactory and I would certainly not recommend it to anyone. Spend the extra money and go to a traditional surgeon.

I had the LSL two weeks ago by Dr.Kevin Smith. It was a little scary being awake while they did the surgery. They run you through a little fast--felt like a cattle car. That being said, my results are amazing. I was able to go to work 6 days after I had the procedure. The swelling was mostly gone--only my close women friends noticed. If you do exactly as thry say, the results are there--I had very little brusing and little swelling.

The lifestylelift was $3,800 and I had lipo under the chin for an additional $300. I would do it again.

I was surfing for reviews about Dr.Kevin Smith which you mentioned.Would you feel comfortable in telling me what you had done and possibly the cost incurred? I'm researching everything I can before I make my choice of doctor for either the lift procedure or full face lift.Anything you could provide me will be greatly appreciated!

I am scheduled to have this procedure next week and am very nervous about. I am scheduled to have lipo under the chin as well. Please tell me about your scarring and the actual lipo procedure experience. Do you have that "stretched" look on your face? I guess I'm just looking for assurances. thanks for any advice you can give me.

to be fair, the refund policy is on the "surgery agreement" which is part of the paperwork i had to sign. also, the price HAS actually gone up to $ 4,000...

I am assuming that you had your eyelids done...did you have your lower eyes done as well? Are you happy with the results now that some time has gone by? Who did your surgery?

I'm 69 and wanted the LSL to smooth a few wrinkles out and get rid of the turkey neck. After speaking with more than one of Dr. Palmers patients I was truly excited and not the least apprehensive, he's well thought of and very talented. He is a very plain spoken man (some think rude)- however I prefer someone that knows his business and is sure enough of himself and doesn't pussyfoot around. My bad news is that I have heart stents and since they use epenehrine along with the local anesthetic I not a good candidate. I am very grateful (altho disappointed) that he wouldn't do the surgery but he did recommend someone to me that uses something different and in a controlled environment - this is for MY safety and and I appreciate his being so honest, brutal or not. ha The man knows his business and does beautiful work, go for it!

I adore Dr Smith. I was Smitorized last week. I did the surgery over the 3 day Easter holiday. Went back to work on Monday..The sides of my face are swollen so I wore my hair down at work all week..No one at work guessed..I just told them I had lipo under my chin. It's been 8 days today..There was pain the first night, I finally took the meds and the they worked pretty well. No bruising but lots of swelling close to the ears. There was also a really tight feeling for about 3 days. it's all good. Go for it!

I am just wondering what kind of scaring you have with the LSL. I wear my hair short and my ears show. Do the scars go away and how long did it take. I live about 4 hours from houston and thats where I plan to go to have my LSL. I really would like to know how soon I can travel back home. I also want to know how long LSL will last. And talk to someone who had it done say more than a year or so ago.

I made a deposite of $500 last year in Houston with Dr. Kevin Smith for the LSL. I got real sick and had to postpone the surgery. The girl who sold me the LSL made it sound like a cake walk. I recently called to make another appointment and I started asking questions about the surgery. The lady to whom I spoke with told me she did not want me to come in thinking this was fun. She warned me, the shots hurt and although I will be numb, I will be able to hear cutting of my skin and smell ordors from the surgery, and I would indeed have pain afterwards. She also told me some people just can not deal with it. I did not make an appointment because she scared me to dead. Can you give me any words of encouragement? At this point I would back out totally but, I don't want to lose $500. Thanks for any comments you may have to offer.

Hello Mary, I had my lift done on April 12, 2007 with Dr. Smith in Houston. The shots did hurt me some but evryone is so different. You can tell someone is doing something to your face but it was not unpleasant or scary to me. I do agree that this may not be for everyone but I was very glad to not have to deal with the after effects of general anesthetic. I was also happy I was able to recover in the comfort of my home.

My face looks great!!! I did have to take pain meds for about 4 days but I also had my eyes done. I was swollen also but icing helped with that. I took off a total of 13 days, could have gone back to work (with eye bruising)but was able to stay home so I did.

I am very glad that I had this done but many of my friends have said they could not handle not being under. You are the only one who can make the decision as to whether to do it or not.

If you have it done let me know how you do.

Thanks and good luck.

HAD MY LSL IN HOUSTON 2 YEARS AGO. HATED DR PARKER. VERY UNFRIENDLY,COLD. RECOVERY TIME A WOULD ESTIMATE 1WEEK BEFORE SOMEONE COULD TELL. YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR ERS ARE SEWN ON CROOKED POST-OP AND THE POSTOP FOLLOW UP IS NON-EXISTENT. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AFTER MY STITCHES CAME OUT. RESULTS WERE GOOD,BUT I WAS NOT VERY WRINKLED,JUST BEGINNING JOWLES. WISH THE DR WAS MORE INVOLVED AND THE DR GAVE ME AN ANTIBIOTIC I TRIED TO GET HIN TO CHANGE IT TO ONE I WAS FAMILIAR WITH. HE WOULN'T BUDGE. I ENDED UP WITH ANTIBIOTIC-INDUCED ULERATIVE COLITIS. IN THE HOSPITAL FOR A WEEK. BAD DEAL.

MSLIV, did you make any decisions about a Houston Doc? I'm impressed with Michael Siegel, M.D. I need a neck lift and he does an "executive facelift" for $5K in the office. His before after pics look good. Any one out there had this proceedure done with Dr. Siegel?

I had the lifestylelift done here in Ca in May of this year. Don't waste your time or money. A real face lift is just that. These people do nothing they promise but take your money. I went in for the same reasons you did and I still have the very same turkey neck and saging jawlines. I have since seen a REAL BOARD CERT. PLASTIC SURGEN and got the bad news that this procedure we need cannot be proformed with local anestic and one hour of our time.

I am seriously thinking of having this proceedure done in the Denver office. Who has had experience with that particular office and their doctors. Please be honest in your recommendations. The above inputs are very confusing and I am concerned about the doctors in Denver LSL unit. Thanks, BJ

One of the top surgeons in Houston for incredible, lasting results is Dr.Cecil Yeung of the Yeung Institute. He does an endoscopic facelift without any incisions and with incredible, lasting results! Relatively no bruising and little swelling. This guy is Board Certified in facial plastics and facial reconstructive surgery. He can do many procedures in the office which is adjacent to his own Ambulatory Surgery Center with state-of-the-art surgical care. I know many of his socialite patients and he very rarely has any complaints from patients.

I have an appt tomorrow with the LSL group in Houston but think I am going with dr. Collins for the traditional facelift. It is more than double the price however I want the procedure to last. Has anyone used Dr. collins?

I am thiking of getting the execative lift done with Dr. Siegel...if you had this done by him could you reply to me via my e-mail...{edited} I just need a little work done under my neck and sides of the face. I really am not too wrinkled but the neck area bothers me. DOes the shots hurt? I wear my hair off my face is there scars that show in front of the ear? or in are there scars in back of the ear? What about pain after the surgery? I realy hate shots and pain. Can you feel ANYTHING during the surgery.. DO you go back to see him after? Anthing else would help me make my decision

I have an appointment with Dr. Palmer in Houston for LSL. I have not been impressed with the office. I have had one traditional facelift in Louisiana and it lasted 8 years, now my neck is sagging and I would love to do the LSL. I am a little apprehensive but Palmer did seem to know his business, the office was just unprofessional. There must have been 50 or60 patients come and go the two days I went for consultations. If anyone has used Palmer please let me know of your experience.

When I went for the consultation in Dallas, I was told that the price was usually $5000 but there was a "one time offer" of $4000 if I signed up right then. Then, the added lipo was to be $300, so my deposit was $430.
After reading the posts, I cancelled just under the 7-day limit and was told I would get a full refund. Hopefully, that is true.
My experience was high pressure and it was not until I was told about the mechanics of the procedure that I was able to form any educated evaluation about whether to do it or not.
These posts have helped enormously and I am so grateful for the internet and for the opinions and experiences shared!

Can anyone reccommend a cosmetic surgeon in Houston? I would like to find one who offers a free consultation because I want to have the opportunity to see different doctors. I have an appointment with Dr. Mentz tomorrow. I know he is like a premier doctor so I'm pretty sure his work is good. I was just wondering if perhaps I could find a qualified doctor at a good price.
Thanks :)

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME!!! I had my LSL done in Oct of 07. Just your basic, no lipo or eyes needed. Now I have horrific scars at the back of my ears and can no longer wear my hair back or up!! Doc said that we would have to "REVISE" the surgery meaning re-open the scars. I called customer care and asked if I could a second opinion from another one of their own Docs. Well the second Doc said no way to re-opening those scars, that in fact I would need lazer surgery to hopefully get my skin somewhat back to normal. Guess what? They don't do that surgery. Also due to the tightness under my chin (feels like I'm being choked constantly) it has formed a bulge which the second doc said could be lipoed..gee thx. So I guess my question is...has anyone ever successfully sued LSL and had their bad situation rectified? Please let me know...thx.

I had the "executive lift" by Dr. Siegel here in Houston. After two weeks, am still tight and a little swollen around the ears. I am pleased with the results. He also did my upper eyelids, with some fillers on my checks (radiesse). He does pull up the muscle in the lower face. I had local and the shots did hurt, but he now offers general anesthesia. Total costs for eyes and executive lift, approximately $11,000.

I really liked Dr. Yeung's before and after pictures and was going to go with him, but he is a bit pricey. I think for what I paid Dr. Siegel, I got good results. I think the executive lift is better than "lifestyle lift" because he does lift the muscle also.

I'm thinking about contacting Dr. Siegel's office for a consultation for the executive lift. My main concern is my neck and the area from the nose to the mouth - drooping. I've already had a consult with Dr. Mentz, and still considering him, but he is very expensive. How are you doing now? Are you glad you did it? Did you get to speak to any of his patients for referrals?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Dr Siegel is a former doctor of lifestyle lift he learned the procedure and trained from Dr. Kent and the Houston doctors. So there for his knowledge is from the lsl.
