Houston lifestyle lift feedback

By msliv on 24 Dec 2006

I am 68 and uhhappy about my turkey neck apperance. Is there any one in the Houston area that has  had an experience having this problem solved, what doctor and what procedure. I don't know if I shoud try the new Lifestyle Lift or go the conventional plastic surgery route.  Any help to make up my mind will be greatly appreciated.

I'm 54 and very much in need of a lift in the chin and neck area. I want to hear from anyone who's had the LSL, and whether the results of the procedure have lasted for, say, a year. Also, I'd very much like to hear from anyone with any problems with the procedure.

Avery, Did you have the LSL done? If so, which Dr in Houston did you use and are you happy with the results?

I had the LSL done in Houston by Dr Parker. He is very arrogant and egotistical. There is SOME improvedment in my neck area. It looked great after about six weeks, but some sagging has returned (after six months). HE did my under-eye area and left me with drooping lower lids. In the days after the procedure, I had sutures come open THREE times. I found the follow-up care to very unsatisfactory and I would certainly not recommend it to anyone. Spend the extra money and go to a traditional surgeon.

I had the lifestylelift done here in Ca in May of this year. Don't waste your time or money. A real face lift is just that. These people do nothing they promise but take your money. I went in for the same reasons you did and I still have the very same turkey neck and saging jawlines. I have since seen a REAL BOARD CERT. PLASTIC SURGEN and got the bad news that this procedure we need cannot be proformed with local anestic and one hour of our time.

had lifestyle lift 3 weeks ago - don't know if i would do it again - still having trouble with vision - blurry - still red eyes - results look ok so far - neck still swollen and very annoying - did not have that much work done but after this time i am glad i did not have a job to go back to - this is not a weekend procedure - also without being put out it was awful - you don't feel it but you know it is happening and you are panicing-

Who was the Dr that performed your LSL? Were the results as you expected now? Can you please email me before and after photos of yourself. Thanks, RLeBlanc Editor note: You can post before/afters here on RealSelf. Send us a note using the contact form below. Thanks!

I am assuming that you had your eyelids done...did you have your lower eyes done as well? Are you happy with the results now that some time has gone by? Who did your surgery?
ann (unregistered guest) 22 Apr 2007
Why were your eyes affected? Did you have eye work done in addition to the proceduure or did the lifestyle lift affect your eyes? What doctor did the surgery? Can u give his full name? Im in Houston and considering the procedure. Thank you, Ann

I cancelled my appt with the Dr. in Houston, TX and they are REFUSING to refund my deposit of $380.00 and I never even talked to or met the Doctor. They said if you change your mind after 7 days...too bad. I have reported the Life Style Lift company to the BBB in Texas and Michigan(home office). I changed my mind due to mentally I did not think I was up for this being my only child/son just spend 12 months in Iraq and deploying again in Aug 07. So, if you are not sure you want this done, DON'T GIVE THEM ANY MONEY.. they will tell you...well it will guarantee the sale price...which btw has been the same for 1 1/2 years.

to be fair, the refund policy is on the "surgery agreement" which is part of the paperwork i had to sign. also, the price HAS actually gone up to $ 4,000...
guest (unregistered guest) 22 Apr 2007
What doctor in Houston refused to refund your money? You do not mention his name. Thank you, A

When I went for the consultation in Dallas, I was told that the price was usually $5000 but there was a "one time offer" of $4000 if I signed up right then. Then, the added lipo was to be $300, so my deposit was $430. After reading the posts, I cancelled just under the 7-day limit and was told I would get a full refund. Hopefully, that is true. My experience was high pressure and it was not until I was told about the mechanics of the procedure that I was able to form any educated evaluation about whether to do it or not. These posts have helped enormously and I am so grateful for the internet and for the opinions and experiences shared!

I had the LSL two weeks ago by Dr.Kevin Smith. It was a little scary being awake while they did the surgery. They run you through a little fast--felt like a cattle car. That being said, my results are amazing. I was able to go to work 6 days after I had the procedure. The swelling was mostly gone--only my close women friends noticed. If you do exactly as thry say, the results are there--I had very little brusing and little swelling.

The lifestylelift was $3,800 and I had lipo under the chin for an additional $300. I would do it again.

I was surfing for reviews about Dr.Kevin Smith which you mentioned.Would you feel comfortable in telling me what you had done and possibly the cost incurred? I'm researching everything I can before I make my choice of doctor for either the lift procedure or full face lift.Anything you could provide me will be greatly appreciated!

I am scheduled to have this procedure next week and am very nervous about. I am scheduled to have lipo under the chin as well. Please tell me about your scarring and the actual lipo procedure experience. Do you have that "stretched" look on your face? I guess I'm just looking for assurances. thanks for any advice you can give me.

I adore Dr Smith. I was Smitorized last week. I did the surgery over the 3 day Easter holiday. Went back to work on Monday..The sides of my face are swollen so I wore my hair down at work all week..No one at work guessed..I just told them I had lipo under my chin. It's been 8 days today..There was pain the first night, I finally took the meds and the they worked pretty well. No bruising but lots of swelling close to the ears. There was also a really tight feeling for about 3 days. it's all good. Go for it!

I made a deposite of $500 last year in Houston with Dr. Kevin Smith for the LSL. I got real sick and had to postpone the surgery. The girl who sold me the LSL made it sound like a cake walk. I recently called to make another appointment and I started asking questions about the surgery. The lady to whom I spoke with told me she did not want me to come in thinking this was fun. She warned me, the shots hurt and although I will be numb, I will be able to hear cutting of my skin and smell ordors from the surgery, and I would indeed have pain afterwards. She also told me some people just can not deal with it. I did not make an appointment because she scared me to dead. Can you give me any words of encouragement? At this point I would back out totally but, I don't want to lose $500. Thanks for any comments you may have to offer.

Hello Mary, I had my lift done on April 12, 2007 with Dr. Smith in Houston. The shots did hurt me some but evryone is so different. You can tell someone is doing something to your face but it was not unpleasant or scary to me. I do agree that this may not be for everyone but I was very glad to not have to deal with the after effects of general anesthetic. I was also happy I was able to recover in the comfort of my home. My face looks great!!! I did have to take pain meds for about 4 days but I also had my eyes done. I was swollen also but icing helped with that. I took off a total of 13 days, could have gone back to work (with eye bruising)but was able to stay home so I did. I am very glad that I had this done but many of my friends have said they could not handle not being under. You are the only one who can make the decision as to whether to do it or not. If you have it done let me know how you do. Thanks and good luck.

Hi Susan, Thanks for your input, I will be sure to let you know the results. I'm sure I will have it done, if I just stop thinking about it and go.
