Hernia and Diastasis Recti

By Lisarea on 10 Nov 2010

I recently found out I have a ventral hernia and Diastasis Recti. My belly looks like I am nine months pregnant and my belly is hard. I am overweight. My question is this. If I get this repaired via tummy tuck what happens to my inside organs, are they squished?

Hi there,

A photo would really help. Generally it's not your organs making your belly look so large (unless you have other underlying medical conditions we don't know about), it's fat and loose skin and perhaps slack muscle.

Scheduling a consult with a board certified plastic surgeon would answer many of your questions. Often times you can get free consulations, too.
