Hardness after smartlipo?

It has been 3 weeks since I had smartlipo on my upper & lower ab's. I love the results, only I have this hardness that I'm told will go away with time & massage & that it's just my body doing it's thing after smartlipo. Anybody else have this hardness & if yes, did it go away? Worried to have anymore smartlipo done if this is the result!

Hi there, I had SL done almost 5 months ago and my progress is going very well. Based upon what you said, I will STRONGLY suggest that you continue to use your CG and also use a binder on top of it for now since you just had your surgery on 5/5/14. As for corseting, I will suggest that you don't start using it until you're 2 months post op. You can wear your corset over your CG at that time if you prefer. However, wearing a corset right now so soon into your recovery could result in unforeseen internal injuries since your body is in its healing state now. I hope this helps.

I hope if you did your tummy, that they did the area just above your pubic area. There is fat deposit there too. I had my lower and upper stomach but that didn't include that area and now it just stands out more so. If I gain any weight that is where it goes. Ick!!! I wish I could go get a tummy tuck cuz my square stomach isn't going anywhere.

Its been a year now and I don't have any hardness at all. BUT my stomach is now square AND I have too much fat deposit above my pubic area. So much so that when I walk up the stairs and lean a little forward, I can feel that fat on my leg. Yuck!

I have the same issues. You have to diet and excercise....salads. For the squareness use a great waist wrap or clincher I like the rubber or neoprene ones make you sweat. Look on Amazon, you might have to purchase a few like I did until you find one you can wear for at least 4 hrs a day, consider it training. Use a heating pad and knead and massage your stomach back into a round shape while it's still warm. I actually found a waist cincher from china that gives me a coca cola shape. Drink matcha green tea to help you burn fat . I am answering you from China, good luck!

It is very normal to have the hardness after smartlipo. It is typically scar tissue build up. Massage will help and our office recommends VelaShape about 6 weeks after surgery- we include 3 complimentary treatments for our patients.

I had those hard spots and lumpiness for about 6 months. But they are gone. I massaged them every chance I got. It hurt a little but I dealt with it. The only issue I have now, BIG issue, is now I have a SQUARE shaped stomach. If you look at me from the front, you don't really see it. But if I were in a bathing suit standing side ways you would see the squareness. Really Yucky... I will be trying something to see if it helps minimize it. Crossing my fingers cuz I can not afford a tummy tuck.

But what if it persists years later? I had smart lipo on my abdomen and now have a large pouch below my belly button. When I press on that area it feels hard then when I let go it sort of pops back out. It's fairly disappointing because I'm in excellent shape otherwise and diet and exercise hasn't helped this issue. I really do believe it could be from smart lipo I had done 5 years ago.

Endermologie & Cavitation helps! I know from Experience! I am now certified to do both treatments after seeing how much it helped me with my hardness

Has anyone had safelipo with a tummy tuck?

sorelydisappointed, it's so ironic that you mention now having a square stomach. I've noticed that my stomach is no longer round and my waist line is no longer curvy. Many years ago, I went to a board certified plastic surgeon for breast reduction surgery and she performed a magnificent job! If only I had used her again instead of the butcher who jacked my stomach up to the tune of $5,500!

My lipo was actually free. Had won 3 areas for free. I chose to upper and lower stomach and love handles. The hardness is gone completely but the squareness is still there. I got to exercising and lost some more weight thinking this would get rid of the extra fat deposits left anywhere in my stomach area but it didn't help. Its still square!!! And I lost an additional 10 lbs. UGH!

Nothing is free . . . wait til you see what it's going to cost to fix it (assuming you ever do).

Yeah I have the same problem my stomach has a completely different shape very unattractive.

That's because the doctor reshape your Stalmach doing the procedure while the fat was still soft. I have the same problem my stomach is also Square and it looks like his handprints are still on my stomach

I know.. its already cost me :( so sad, was hoping it would be better than it is now.

Yeah, he was pinching that area to make sure he was getting the fat and not too much. Maybe thats why its shaped that way now. Now I will have to get a tummy tuck. Dang, now where do I find the money for that procedure to fix this issue?

I Have hard middle part of my stomach after smartlipo and the doctor will fix it if necessary. Have you tried to speak to your doctor about a touch up, which usually won't cost much or even be free?
