I am getting ready to do rhinoplasty this early summer. I went to see few Dr.s here in NW WA and I was told my nose is little complicated, because I had previouse injury. I would love to do surgery here in the state with William Portuese but his surgery cost $8.300. I just can't afford it. It took me one year just to safe $5.000 for the surgery but now his prices went up. I am afraid by the time I will spend another year saving his prices will go even higher and I will never be able to make my dream come true. Specialy with this economy I am worry that I can loose my job and who knows when I can do this surgery again. So, to make it easy for myself I been doing research about Mexico. I already spoke with few clinic and their top prices is $3.500. If anyone went Mexico for this procedure before and knows good surgeon, please let me know. Thank you for your time guys.
Hmmmm.... Usually, doc, does 100 rhinoplasty over the one year.
Few weeks ago I went to see one of William Portuese and he does 4 rhinoplasty a week. Which is 192/year. He has 22 years of experience. If you multiply it's 3840 rhinoplasty for all his career time. How come this Professor from Mexico only done 100s in 20 years. That's my consern.
Did you do personaly rhinoplasty with him ? How do you know is so good ?
Trust me if I could afford I would probably do in the US just because I don't want to travel. I just think everyone has to do home work, try to research and listen other people experiences.
It, also makes me mad that doc. charge way to high price and there no garantee it's going to be exactly what I want.
I spoke with the celebreties plastic surgeon in India and he said exactly the same stuff what I was told by american surgeon what has to be donefor my rhinoplasty. The only difference Indian wants to charge me $2.700 and american $8.300.
My bank is not going to borrow me $ for the rhinoplasty in the US because I already have school loan.
It's really doesn't make a sence to me. Business are closing down, people loosing jobs, hours and even getting pay less then what they used to make but plastic surgeon getting more and more greedy. That's why we want to go outside the country.
I better go otherwise I won't stop complaining :)
Here's what some doctors on RealSelf have to say about traveling to Mexico for rhinoplasty. That said, if you're determined, please do a lot of research to make sure you find a very qualified surgeon. Rhinoplasty is one of the most intricate and difficult procedures and you want to have it done right the first time.
