Looking for Good Rhinoplasty Doctor in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Columbia

By jayo1983 on 21 May 2011

Hi, Over the next few months im hoping to have a Rhinoplasty procedure done. I have giving it alot of consideration and think now is the time for me to do this. Im a 27 year old male from Canada. However the procedure prices up here in Canada are way out of my budget. Therefore im hoping to go to South or Central America and have it done. The only problem is that im unsure of which surfeon to go to. I have been looking at Dr Alejandro Afanador from the Lanariz clinic in Columbia and also Dr. Bukret in Argentina. However im hoping to get feedback from people on the site here. Perhaps some recommendations or your own story of getting rhinoplasty in one of these countries.

Dr. Bukret does also surgery at Centenario private Hospital and another one as well!

"There is NO WAY I could have had the same wonderful experience here in the states,"
What a absolute nonsense.

Oh my goodness. I don't know why these bloggers are so driven to defame Dr Bukret, but I'm here to tell an entirely different story about him. I traveled from the U.S. to Buenos Aires four times to meet with him before finally scheduling the surgery, and I am so completely thrilled with the surgical results, the prices, and most of all the care and decency shown to me by both Dr Bukret and Priscila. There is NO WAY I could have had the same wonderful experience here in the states, and if I have surgery ever again, I will beat a path right back to his door and head again for Buenos Aires. As a plastic surgeon, he is an artist and obtains results way beyond his patients' expectations. More importantly, he CARES about his patients. He came to my apartment quite a few times, just to check and make sure everything was alright with my recovery and just because he cared. He called to check in, and he asked me for daily emails, just to give a status update. I saw him in his office every other day as well, so needless to say, he was very much on top of everything that was going on with my health. This was very important to me, because I was so far from home, and there was great risk that I would feel very vulnerable and frightened. It was because Dr Bukret was my doctor that I felt safe and that I wasn't frightened. I knew my health and well-being were in the right hands, and he did not let me down at all. In fact, he surpassed every one of my expectations and rendered care that I would not have been able to find in the U.S. I cannot endorse him highly enough, and this comes from someone who has gone the entire route with Dr Bukret. If anyone would like to speak with me further about him or about having surgery in Argentina, please email me at speakdenk@aol.com, because I am one heck of an advocate! (One more thing, the reason I initially chose Dr Bukret over the other four plastic surgeons I consulted was because he INSISTED that my surgery be done in Sanatorio de los Arcos, which is the finest private hospital in Buenos Aires. It is the most expensive, but he wasn't about to perform surgery on his patient without every medical advantage on our side.)

Dear Susan Speak,
I suggest you study law. As long as there is a basis in fact there is no such thing. My comments i made were based on actual experience so i suggest you do some research before making comments such as your earlier ones.
Dr Bukret does surgery at 2 locations not just sanitorio de los arcos, so again do your research! Sanitorio de los arcos is nice hospital but clinica matienzo is not!

I am starting a website to showcase the horrors of Dr Bukret. If anyone has a story or would like to share, please contact me at {Edited by RealSelf: email address removed to protect you from spambots. Also, please do not post links to third party sites created primarily to criticize doctors.}

As someone who has experienced surgery in Argentina, based on internet reviews and cost, I would warn you strongly against it. It is a very sensitive and stressful process and it would be much better to seek personal testimonials, meet your surgeon well in advance of any procedure and ensure he is an expert in that precise procedure. I experienced some post surgery complications and it was very difficult being in a different country from the surgeon and getting follow-up advice from other surgeons. Furthermore, it is better not to travel after any surgery, you need to rest and be in familiar territory where you feel completely at ease. Really think hard about whether picking another country is worthwhile just to save a bit of money.

Do not use Dr Eric Williams Bukret of Buenos Aires, Argentina. {Edited by RealSelf. Please refrain from calling doctors names on RealSelf. You are allowed and encouraged to discuss your experience, but please do not use blanket insults to do so} He did not turn over medical records to me when asked because he didnt do the surgery he said he did. Stay away. Not worth the money and risk. Stay in the US

Keep in mind that rhinoplasty is a super intricate procedure (one of the most difficult) and should be embarked upon with care and a lot of research. I've read reviews where users who traveled out of the country for their nose jobs were happy with their results, and others where the users were devastated. Here's what a few doctors on RealSelf have to say about traveling out of country for rhinoplasty.

If you do this, do your homework like crazy and research, research, research! Hope this helps.
