Are you nervous? What are you doing to prepare?

Yes and no. I take worrying to the extreme, but seem to be freakishly calm right now. I'm excited and anxious, just want it done so I can get on with it. I just hope it is all worth it in the end. I've had surgery before, so I'm not concerned about the procedure itself, more the recovery. I haven't done anything to prepare yet. I'm going to stock up on lots of food for the family, get my prescriptions and start the Rutin that was recommended. Other than that, I'm not doing anything special. What about you?

I feel the same way. I had a mini freak out and now I just want to get on with it. I have had surgeries in the past too. The only part of the process that I am concerned with is that I vomit post surgery no matter what they put in the IV, etc. I agree with you, I hope it is worth it in the end. I am excited to say goodbye to my belly, but I wish I was 100% sure that the long recovery is worth it. What is Rutin? That is new to me. Have you had your pre op appointment? Mine isn't until the 14th. I did pick up a couple pairs of yoga pants and some granny panties yesterday. Other than that I have not started preparing. Do you have a lot of support? The only person that knows is my husband. I will tell my kids when the surgery gets closer. My husband will be with me for the surgery and 4 days post op. He is very supportive and will take good care of me. I am hoping I will be fine by day 5 and he can return to work. It's nice to "know" someone else going to surgery the same day that I am. I look forward to reading about your experience.

Rutin is a supplement that is supposed to thin the blood and has anti inflammatory properties. My surgeon has you take it 2 weeks before surgery. Have you had Zofran IV before? It has always worked for nausea for me. I've already had my pre-op. Yoga pants is a good idea. I may look for some at target. I'm not sharing my surgery with anyone outside my family except one friend. Basically, I will be hiding out in my house for as long as it takes for me to pull it off. I'm sure my husband will take care of me, but he isn't 100% thrilled about me doing this, so I know he will get irritable relatively quickly. Luckily, I am staying in the surgery center the first two nights. My youngest is 5, so it won't be so hard taking care of them. They are pretty self sufficient and in school all day. My husband works from home, so he will be able to run taxi service and help before and after school. How old are your kids?
