Freezing a Capillary

My son who is 7 years old has a broken capillary on the very tip of his nose. It is not spider like. It looks more like a red dot. His friends are always asking him what it is. It has started to hurt his self-esteem and we would like to help him. I asked our family doctor about it, and he suggested to try to freeze it or burn it. Has anyone heard of this? We can not afford laser treatment as insurance will not cover any of it. I need advise from a Specialist..... I am worried this will make it worse.
