Can Fraxel Repair cause hyperpigmentation?

Hi I am 46 and lived most of my life outdoors with no sun block. I had thermage and radiesse last year and was fairly pleased. But now I have a little more laxity posterior to my naso-labial lines, crows's feet, and some sun spotting on my jawline I'd love to lose.

My Dr suggest Fraxel Repair, either as a one time harded strength or 2 lighter ones. I have heard of the Hypopigmentation problems with the old CO2 and am worried after reading the fraxel reports here. Anyone had the Fraxel Repair strength? Thanks

I had the fraxel repair on may 9th and started developing hypopigmentation In early august, getting worse every day.

i have had fraxel last summer,just two treatments only. This summer my face is cover with huge dark spots all over my face. It ruined my skin,i have tried many ipls and tca peels,but nothing seems to work. I am still hoping that somebody will tell me what to do.Shoud i continue with fraxel,woud this help or make my condition worse?

I am suffering Hypo-pigment from laser surgery (over 13 spots on my scalp)- I wish I could give you a cure but so far I have found none. Laser surgery may not be answer - be careful

I am wondering if you have found anything that is making your skin better at this point? When this happened to me my derm. said to not procede further because with each test spot, I got darker so now I'm stuck! thanks

I too have lower face discoloration...however mine is hyperpigmented...forget going in the sun....it looks horribly dark..and i live in florida.... I also have developed wrinkles ..and my skin looks old....what a waste of $1500 ....this was done to me by The Vein Center in tampa bay....when i told them of the problem they sold me an $80 bottle of bleaching creme..and sent me on my way...imagine that even got another $80 bucks out of me...very unhappy and upset...any one one a more permenant solution to the hyperpigmentation??
