Forehead Scar - Best way to fix?

My forehead was deeply lacerated by a dog claw scratch (freak accident in a pool) in August 2012.  I did not go to the hospital at that time, I probably could have used a stitch or two.  Fast forward to today and it looks a lot better, but the way the scar catches light, even with makeup, makes it incredibly noticeable and visible.  I would like to have this fixed but I really don't know the best option for my case.   The top picture is the day it happened.  The bottom picture is today, with makeup.  It looks a lot worse in person.
