How do I go about finding the perfect nose surgeon?

By Emadjallaq on 03 Jan 2013

I have been insecure about my nose for years now.  It is quite large and has a hump.  I have been thinking about getting surgery to get the hump removed and reduce the size of my nose. I have two problems. One being I can't afford to spend thousands of dollars on surgery.  So are there places that offer a payment plan for these types of surgeries? And secondly, if there are payment plans out there and I can go ahead with the surgery after consultations, how long after surgery will I be able to go back to daily life without bandages or scarring?

Hi there,

I would start with scheduling some consultations with board certified facial plastic surgeons.

Here's a list of questions to ask your prospective doctors.

Some doctors accept a financing program called Care Credit. Sometimes you can secure a small personal loan from a financial institution as well.

If your septum is deviated, medical insurance might pay for part of the procedure (this is where going on consultations helps...so you can learn what's going on with your nose).

Several surgeons will waive their consultation fees if you mention RealSelf, so ask about this when you call to make appointments. Good luck!
