Good for you!!!!! I'm definitely not up for a marathon yet! But I don't think that has anything to do with the surgery :)

Yea!!! Just had six week post op appointment and PS says that I'm healing so well that eventually I won't even see a scar!! Woooooow! He also showed me my before pics again...OMG I had forgotten how horrible I looked. I'm so happy I could cry! He also gave me Crap for running....oops but said now at six weeks I'm good to go...just lucky I did fudge things up by running too soon. Happy healing to all I'm praying for everyone!

OK gang, I have a question. I am 4 weeks PO from extended tummy tuck and breast reduction. I had one drain opening that although drain was taken out 1 week PO it continued to drain until about 20 days PO. Wednesday after work I was looking at my incision and the bubble that had formed that healed over the formerly leaking drain stop started oozing dark orange oily fluid. I think this is liquefied fat from fat necrosis. I have a hard tummy area from belly below belly button down to incision. I would think that it is positive that the fluid is coming out rather than staying in but am not sure if this is something I should be majorly worried about or not. I feel like I ask my PS a lot of questions about things that are really not unusual. I don't have any skin necrosis issues just a slightly shadowed area right under incision that looks discolored. All skin blanches when I touch it so I can tell it all has blood supply. Is the drainage of liquefied fat something that others have seen or is my body just weird? Seems like most of the fat necrosis info I see show people with both fat and skin necrosis. Anyone know anything? Honestly don't think it is a crisis since the discharge is not smelly and does not show signs of being infection but really do not know if I should call my PS or not. Any info would be greatly appreciated!! Love my new body but the incision thing is wearing on me...... Hugs and many wishes/prayers for uneventful healthy healing to you all!

I'm not happy. I have a huge ridge right above my scar,(like a drop off is you can imagine, that prevents anynpants from staying up),dog ears on both hips(large ones) and a questionable umbilical hernia where my seroma was. I have to call and make my 1 yr followup appt with dr to discuss all my issues.

Wow! It's going to be a year since we "crossed over" to the flat side. I'm interested to know how this surgery has changed your lives. Mine definitely wasn't for the best. Kinda thinking that if I knew how much things would change I wouldn't have gotten it done :-/

What happened?

It's caused tons of jealousy from my husband that has led us to the point we are at now. Trying to figure out if separation is best.

mommy2the2best in the beginning I had my ups and downs I was an emotional wreck I did this for me and 1 year later I'm very pleased. My huby is very insecure were in our 40's yet he looks older and I look younger so he has called me vain which could've caused major problems I would do it again tomorrow knowing what I know now. I had to please me first if he doesn't like it he can leave! He was always against it he doesn't even like me to workout so he must fix him like I fixed me I can't worry about his insecurities!!!

Thanks for your words :) we are in our mid twenties with two little ones. 7 & 4, I can say that I've had such an abundance of confidence and I love it. I am getting attention that I can honestly say I'm not getting at home. So now it's like with his jealousy and my new confidence , why settle? But then he always throws it in my face :-/ "how much I've changed"

That's the problem when they don't give us attention at home they start to think we'll get it elsewhere especially with improved confidence it's again their issue not ours all u can do is try to reassure him tell him your wants/needs if no change time to reevaluate relationship.

I can't believe it's been a year, either. WOW. I still have a lot of numbness in my abdomen, but everything finally healed up.I actually had some lore lipo done yesterday because the scar from the TT seemed to leave a belt around my lower abdomen that would muffin top out... so I think I got that taken care of.

This is exactly what has happened to me! Was it like a buldge righ above the scar? Did the lipo work and did your dr do it for free?
  • Reply
It was bulging out on either side of my hips, right above the scar, so my stomach has stayed really flat, but the sides look like a mushroom top. I just had the lipo yesterday, but I can definitely see a difference, and even my husband said he could tell that he took a lot of fat out yesterday. My surgeon said that the area might still be sort of floppy on the sides after the lipo was done, but from what I am seeing right now, I don't think that will be the case. Even if it is, it will still look a lot better. Oh yeah, and I had to pay for it.

Is another big scar from lipo? Local anasthesia ? What's recovery like?

There are just four small holes from the lipo, and he went through my tummy tuck scar, so there will be no new scars when the incisions heal. I had general anesthesia. I have been in a pretty good amount of pain since the surgery, but it has been controllable. I have been able to get up and move around, and I think that has helped.

Hey my tummy sisters! This time last year I was a nervous wreck. I can't wait to read and catch up!

Wow! I can't believe it's been almost been a year! I had a full TT with muscle repair and I'm still swelling and a little numb. I've been able to "maintain" my weight but haven't lost weight like I wanted too. Dr told me no ab workouts for one year and I like hardcore workouts. This year I've started tryingt to walk/run two miles at least 4 times a week. Looking forward to dropping the pounds!!!!
