Fillers as good as fat transfer for dark circles and hollows?

I have extreme, and permanent, dark circles and hollowness under my eyes. I was considering having fillers put in until I heard about fat transfer. However, fat transfer to under the eyes seems to be an uncommon procedure with really mixed results. If I opt for fillers instead, will the results, while not lasting as long, be otherwise comparable?

Hi AnnaBell, Restylane is very good for filling the lower eye lid hollow, but dark circles are a different story. In many cases it is more predictable than fat transfer. If your circles are made worse by the shadowing of the hollows, then filling will help. In most cases there is some improvement, but we do not have a good treatment for the elimination of dark eye circles. Good luck and be well. Dr. P
