Fascinating Study on Fat Cells

Contrary to popular believe that all fat cells shrink and expand, researchers in 2010 found that upon weight gain, lower body fat cells multiply while abdominal fat cells grow in size.   Check it out: http://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2010/10/04/fat-grows-differently-in-different-body-areas/   Could this mean that upon being injected in the face, fat can behave differently depending on where we get the donor fat? An interesting thing to ponder....

Thanks for sharing this. My fat came from my muffin top and placed in my cheeks. My doctor used only a small amount. So far after 4 months things look good. I watch my weight very closely after having gastric sleeve weight loss surgery.

It is very interesting. I read from a medical doctor "that some women who gain between 20-30 pounds after their fat transfer had their face completely deformed, with grotesque appearance with large bulging eyebrows and cheek and lip areas". It is sure that our cells behave the same way from the donor site. So now I wonder what is the best site for the face if we want our cells to behave the same way as our fat cells.

You're welcome! I actually talked to one lady who had a fat transfer and she said that all her friends who had facial fat transfers experienced different outcomes depending on where they got it from. Anecdotal stories don't scientifically prove that it is true but it's very interesting. Maybe it could be a question realself asks doctors on the Blog... Though I guess for now it would merely be hypothetical answers.
