What do you use as a facial cleanser and eye makeup remover after you have healed

By Triscuit on 11 Dec 2012

I was given a blinc mascara sample to use but if I use my current mascara I usually need more than soap & water to remove it and soap is not recommended. What have you all used that does not affect the ink retention? I know to avoid anything with bleaching agents.

Yes, I have heard of Blinc! It stays put and then when one wishes to remove it, the product literally rolls off the lashes! Must have silicone in it. Just to reiterate, NO mascara should be worn for 3-5 days after a procedure. 3 days if it's brand new, and 5 days if the mascara has been used. Bacteria must be avoided anywhere near the lash line.

Good info - thanks for filling us in!!

After an eyeliner procedure once healed (after 28 days) you may use most any product you like, however I would advise against oily eye makeup remover, and use something mild such as Maybelline or Almay. Maybelline has a really economical and very effective makeup remover that's been around for over 25 years. It's a bit sudsy, and is very good at removing all eye makeup.

What did you end up using to wash with?

Mary Kay oil free remover. Also Blinc comes off best with pressure and warm water. Not the greatest but it lasts and lasts, no flaking just not as good as some others I prefer!

If I'm understanding right, it sounds like Blinc was a good Mascara for right after your treatment. Is that what you felt was the case?

Blinc is a tubing mascara and comes off with warm water (like shower and finger pressure to loosen it and it slides off in little tubes. It adds length It did not pull out my eyelashes but it stays put. I was not supposed to use any eye make up remover for at least 3 weeks now apparently anything is fine.

Oh wow, that is interesting. Good to know such a product exists!
