extended TT vs. TT with lipo

By 3boys 1princess on 10 Feb 2011

Had my 1st consult this morning. Doc said it was up to me whether or not I wanted extended or just TT with lipo. Said results would be better with extended, but was just a personal preference, I am 5'9 and weigh 185. Anyone have any info on the difference? THANKS!

Yes that is exatly what he said. Having the ETT would totally eliminate the risk of having dog ears, but from the research I have done doing lipo on back and sides can help with that. I am going to ask more about it on my next appt. THanks for the reply!

I had an extended TT because I was so full on my hips/sides. I'm glad I had the ETT since now my hips & love handles are totally gone! And no dog ears. I would say it depends on your build also....

An extended TT goes further around the hips. If you have loose skin there, it sounds like it would prevent "dog ears" from occurring. So is he talking about doing lipo on your hips as an alternative? Seems like there would still be extra skin, unless I'm understanding it wrong. *confused*

I guess I don't know the diff.

I had a full TT with hip lipo booked, along with the muscle tightening. My PS also did lipo on the back fat and a bit more on the hips than originally planned.

I'm so excited to see me new bod.

After my shower today, when I was unbound, I made hubby measure my incision. It is 20" from end stitch to end stitch!

Did your Dr. go over the differences between one vs. the other. Or the advantage of the extended TT, it was his repsonsibality to educate you so that you can make an inform decision. Also every surgoen is diffrent on their techniques. The extended TT the surgeon would work on a extended area of your body and our incision will be longer, however, you need proffesional advice.
