Has Anyone Had Experience with Oxford Health Plans Covering Breast Reductions?
By TinkyTootie on 29 Oct 2010
I am wondering if anyone has had BR covered by Oxford? Secondly, I am confused on what is the first step to take when trying to get a BR covered. I already have an appointment with a chiropractor on Monday because I know that my insurance requires it, but when do I need to call my insurance company and when do I need to see a plastic surgeon? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to RealSelf. (Great username, btw)
A lot of insurance providers have criteria you can download online or request by phone. This explains when reductions are covered. I tried to check the Oxford site but it requires me to have their insurance to access the documents, so no luck there.

It also helps if you have documented evidence of back pain, etc.
Do you mind me asking what size you are? Perhaps some other RealSelfers can weigh in with their specific experiences there.
