Eating the right foods before & after a Mommy Makeover

By Cupcakediva on 30 Mar 2011

I am having a tummy tuck and breast augmentation in 2 weeks. What foods should I begin eating now to prepare my body for surgery and what foods should I avoid after the surgery to avoid swelling and discomfort?

I cut out processed foods before and after to minimize swelling. I only eat whole natural foods. Here is a sample menu of one day of food so you get the gist:
Breakfast: Oatmeal with a scoop of protien powder and walnuts
Snack: apple and natural cheese cheese or natural yogurt
Lunch: salad with grilled chicken, apples and walnuts & balsamic vinegar
Snack: orange and a boiled egg
Dinner: small serving of whole wheat pasta with pesto and baked fish and green salad
For sweet cravings I eat a handful of dark choc chips if you need more food add in a protien shake during the day.
If you eat similar you will recover nicely and stay on track with your new tummy :) Good luck!!

I meant to mention that it processed foods that seem to cause swelling more than just salt. Salt is good to avoid but processed food is what you want to stay away from :)

I'm also wondering I'm trying to avoid salt this week because of all the swelling everyone keeps talking about
