I finally found a solution to a problem I've had with dry skin on my face and scalp for years with no success on any other shampoo or treatment, this works for both. I'm 25 years old, white (German). I've been using "Raw Honey" and "Dr. Woods Black Soap" on both my face including my beard and eyebrows, and my scalp. The raw honey is very relaxing if mixed with a bit of warm water and then using Dr. Woods Black soap afterwards. Dr. Wood's Black Soap really lathers up too so you don't need more than a dime size of it making it last nearly forever with the large bottle it comes in. This immensely helps keeping my skin smooth, afterwards I apply some Intensive Repairing Vaseline (any form of this intensive repairing Vaseline would work, it's just to re-hydrate the skin after using Dr. Woods to make it so smooth, you will be thankful for putting these three on everyday in the morning and night, just make sure to use the Raw Honey mixed with warm water first, wash it off then apply Dr. Woods Black Soap to your whole face as well, wash that off too and then lastly use the intensive repairing Vaseline and you're done!) These two items can be bought off of amazon and I highly recommend them, no more flakes at all!! Hope this helps anyone who was as depressed as I was about my condition. I no longer have flakes on my face or redness AT ALL. Completely gone! My scalp is starting to slowly heal as well, I've noticed a major improvement.

Some ingredients in moisturizers can actually make our skin drier, interfering with the barrier on our skin that prevents moisture from dissipating according to study. You can use edible oils as discussed in this forum. You can choose olive oil, virgin coconut oil, sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, but I suggest you use olive oil. This is a great oil if you have really dry skin—there's a reason Mediterranean women have used it as a moisturizer for centuries. It provides intense moisture, Niemann says, and the rich antioxidants that make it so good for your insides benefit your outsides, too, fighting free radicals created by exposure to sunlight.

Argan oil deeply moisturizes and hydrates your skin. It is known as one of the greatest moisturizers on the market. I buy my argan oil from argandorusa.com and have been using it daily for the last four weeks. I already see great results! Argand'Or offers great quality for a fair price. You can get it much cheaper, but that is of inferior quality...

The main cause of dry skin is dehydration. I would suggest you to drink plenty of water in a day. It helps to flushes out toxins from our body. Also eat more fruits and green vegetables in your diet. Healthy diet is very important for our body.

I suffer with extremely dry skin during winter also. I would suggest having healthy veggie/fruit snacks on the go. And getting samples from business that are recommended to you to pop into your car or bag. Hydrate Hydrate and products with aloe vera juice instead of water helps a lot as well...hope this helps -Ginger-vee

Athos Miracle Cream made a dramatic difference in the texture and hydration of my skin almost immediately. I've been suffering from extremely dry, cracked skin on hands and feet this fall and winter and nothing was making a difference. I tried raw shea butter, all kinds of moisturizers, and aloe with no luck. My daughter ordered this cream online for me and it really works. It is a bit sticky but it rubs in well.

For the longest time I had the same problem too. I tried all kinds of stuff and all of them dried my skin really horribly. I know there are so many things to choose from but cream or lotion with urea will do you a lot of good. Urea is very safe and non-toxic. The urea cream should have a good balance of fatty acids that will work well with urea to give you the quick relief you need. Urea penetrated really fast and brings the water to your skin so in a matter of seconds, you will feel as good as new. visit www.mysuperdryskin.com they have really awesome products. Good luck!

Hi Doodee7, Olive oil + castor oil are great for cleansing your skin. You can check out the Oil Cleansing Method here: http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com/ That will retain the moisture in your skin and keep it clean.

I would recommend you few natural remedies that are a part of your daily routine only and you do not need to come out with extra time, which includes: 1. Take shower daily 2. Avoid hot showers as much as you can 3. Keep your bathing time to five to 10 minutes 4. Avoid scrubbing dry skin patches 5. Pat your dry skin with a soft towel. 6. Use a moisturizing soap 7. Drink plenty of water 8. Use a humidifier at home 9. Use a good moisturizer on skin

I also have dry skin and I want to recommend to you Triple Action Vitamin C Serum by VoilaVe. I have used it for several days now, and my face feels great! This product gets immediately absorbed in to your skin and makes your face feel soft and refreshed. I felt minor tightening, but nothing uncomfortable and the fresh dewy appearance of my skin is such a huge bonus! It was smooth and absorbed immediately. This product had no noticeable scents, which I find particularly nice as I don't have to worry about mixing scents. During winter, you can also use it under makeup as well and also foundation is very easy to apply over it. I will most definitely keep using this product!! You can look it up on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Triple-Action-Vitamin-Serum-Hyaluronic/dp/B00FFANXMM
