Just had my two year post-op appointment. I absolutely love Dr. Freeman and his staff. It is wonderful to walk in and see all the same people two years later. Dr. Freeman is a gifted surgeon and I highly recommend him. I am extremely satisfied with my rhinoplasty results.

I'm not a crazy person. That being said, I wouldn't recommend Dr Freeman b/c he does not listen well, to what YOU as a patient want, nor does he listen to complaints you might have. I've had to have a couple of revisions (with him) b/c not done right the first time, but now have to go elsewhere to fix the mistakes. He seems to do what HE thinks you want or what HE thinks will look "good", w/out really hearing the patient's goals and expectations. BE SURE TO FIND A SURGEON WHO LISTENS THOROUGHLY!
And don't let anyone talk you into something you hadn't really noticed on yourself previously. One procedure I had done was b/c HE brought it up, about how much better I'd look "if".... But I wish I had ignored his suggestion, b/c I looked better before!!!

I soooo agree with you! He refused to do digital imaging for me or even take notes about my nose, just said he would make it more feminine. His idea of a pretty nose is not exactly my idea of a pretty nose. Since surgery it has been impossible to get him to look at photos and see if he would be willing to do minor revision, he just said that my results were fine. Ive gotten a second, third, and forth opinion and each of them agreed there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Hi, I am around the Charlotte area too. I was wondering if you or anyone on here know about Dr. Graper of Charlotte, NC? If so, how much would they recommend him? I have a consultation coming up with him July the 9th for a rhinoplasty surgery.

I had surgery with Dr. Sean Freeman and he was fabulous! I got a face lift and had excellent results. Dr. Freeman and his staff answered all my questions and were so kind and helpful. I would highly recommend him for anyone having plastic surgery.

Dr. Sean Freeman is fabulous! As a medical provider myself, I can give him nothing but the highest recommendation. My fellow colleagues in the medical community have had procedures by him and I believe that is the highest complement one can give. There is nothing higher than a recommendation by fellow peers. I had a blepharoplasty preformed 5 weeks ago and could not be more pleased with the outcome. He is truly an amazing surgeon. I have worked in plastic surgery at the Mayo Clinic and well aware of what it takes to make a great plastic surgeon and I can assure you that Dr. Freeman has all of these qualities!

Id love to see pictures of some of the positive comments. Maybe if you have a bridge bump or something simple he is a good surgeon for that... but for the tip of my nose, he wouldnt explain what he was going to do, or do a computer simulation for me. I guess I just trusted all of the other before/after photos he had because they looked good. To refine my nose tip he just put some stiches in to make it look less wide, and now it just budgles out in other areas instead. Ive seen some other surgeons who all said that to achieve what I wanted you have to actually cut the cartiledge. We talked about the goals together so I dont know why he chose to do what he did. The surgery took about 30 minutes and it just seems to me like he didnt try that hard. Afterwards he said it was still swollen but its been like this for a year. During my appointments I heard him complaining in the hall that he didnt want to see his next patient. Im sure everyone thinks things like that but its not professional to say it out loud within earshot of other patients. I think he is capable but maybe so over confident that he just does what he wants despite the patient. I might go back and ask if we can further improve my nose and see if he is willing. I am willing to pay for a revision if its a resonable price. I think its maybe even my fault that I didnt demand more of an explination from him. I might change my opinion of him if he seems like he cares about what I think.

Dr. Freeman performed surgery on me 18 months ago. I had my eyes, mid-face and neck done and I could not be happier. I look fresh and rested with smooth skin that is not tight or stretched looking. I look appropriately youthful and the results are realistic. Dr. Freeman explained the procedures to my satisfaction and his office staff was informative and attentive. I felt safe in their care. I have recommended him to my friends and will continue to do so.

Im a nurse, and my friend had a rhinoplasty and cheek implants with Dr Freeman...She told me she thought Dr Freeman was efficient and informative, and 7 weeks after her surgery, she looked amazing. Im sure you cant please everyone, but he did very well by my friend. I would certainly go to Dr Freeman in the future.

I have been a patient of Dr. Freeman's for 5 plus years. My sister and mother have had surgical procedures by Dr. Freeman and when my father needed cancer reconstruction Dr. Freeman was our first choice. We all have been very pleased with the surgical outcome, the staff and post operative care. On a side note when you have a rambling, repeated and incredible long misspelled post on any site the author is the one whose stability you should be suspect of, hey just saying!

ChaCha15:

It sounds as if you are a very happy patient of Dr. Freeman's. You should post pics and block out your eyes so others can see his work (especially since you feel it's such great work.) What kind of surgery did you have over the past five years by Dr. Freeman? I've been told the most qualified surgeons are members of the ASPS. They hold their surgeon members to high quality and ethical standards to protect prospective patients. Their website is pasticsurgery.org and list all members on a state by state basis. I notice Dr. Freeman is not a member of this highly regulating organization.

Plastic surgeons not only do surgical procedures but have long standing clients for botox, fillers or laser work. My mother and sister's photos are on Dr. Freeman's web site. I did my research when choosing a physician and Dr. Freeman is a member of ASFPS (American Association of Facial Plastic Surgeons) before you throw out in insinaution do your homework.

Count me as very happy. Honestly, after reading some of these posts I wonder about the mental health of a couple of these posters. He just does facial aesthetics and has specialized for over 20 years. He should me a bunch of photos, much more so than anyone else I saw. He spent a ton of time explaining what to expect and his staff was great. I guess after working for 20 years your going to have a couple of unhappy patients. Show me a plastic surgeon who doesn't! Go see him yourself if you're getting something done on your face and make your own determination. Wouldn't let the couple of unhappy patients deter you from a great surgeon and from what I could tell a nice caring individual.

Dr. Freeman also talked me into getting cheek and chin implants last year. He placed one lower than the other and too high. He will be taking them out.
chacha15 8 Jun 2012
I look at these post for amusement and a laugh at what people will write. You state your case as if you had no choice. No body forces you to pick a plastic surgeon, nobody forces anyone to return after an initial consultation. You were not forced into handing over your money, to return for a pre-op or to even show up the day of surgery. All these choices are yours as mine are mine, people need to take personal responsibility for their own decisions.

I am 6 months post op from my nose surgery. I have been thrilled with the results of Dr. Freeman. I felt that he was conservative and gave me the natural look I wanted. When I tell people I had surgery, they are shocked. He did suggest a chin implant, but I was never comfortable with that suggestion. My chin was never something I thought needed work. My nose on the other hand was a disaster. I had a bump; it was over projected and under rotated. Dr. Freeman gave me the nose I should have been born with. I consulted with 3 others before choosing Dr. Freeman. I am happy with my decision.

REALLY sorry to hear your story!! I had a tipplasty and chin implant in july done by Dr. Freeman. The chin implant ended up being a DISASTER which I had to have removed by another plastic surgeon in another state who agreed that it was not aesthetically pleasing and it was blocking my muscles that allow me to smile wide... though Dr. Freeman treated me like I was crazy when I voiced the same concerns. My nose looks better than it was originally but it still looks like a "before" picture. Basically he left intact the part that I said bothered me the most (ball on end that droops when I smile). After I booked the surgery he was rude to me with all of my appointments. After having paid for the original surgery, the cost of having my implant removed by another surgeon, Im not financially or emotionally prepared to have a revision but I still look in the mirror after 7 months wishing he had done a better job. And on top of that I basically have a permanent pimple where a stitch is under my skin and pokes out. I thought it was an ingrown hair and one day got sick and tired and got the tweezers to pull it out, only to discover that it is absolutely the end of a stitch and there is nothing I can do about it but to try not to let it get aggitated. 7 months later. I would never recommend him to anyone!!!

anon1138: So sorry to hear you had that experience with him! funny- he told me "he never once had to remove a chin implant." Those were his words verbatim. AND he actually left a stitch that is protruding through your skin?? This guy seriously needs to be investigated. I mean Quality and Standards are buzz words now in the medical world that demand attention. He should be held to standards. He may need a psych evaluation too. Who knows. Something's just not right about the man as a person and much less so as a surgeon. Scary with a scalpel. Not a good combo.

hello. i am also trying to find a lawyer. when you find one you are happy with if you dont mind please let me know. mine is also to busy. thanks.
2001anon 4 Dec 2011
Ajj01 I am going to contact some lawyers after x- mas and see. The one I was working with has picked up to many cases and can't fit mine in before the time limits up.
I'm soo happy u didn't let him talk u into it, that's what he does, he feeds off of peoples insecuritys and in reality your probably beautiful and don't have any of that uneveness he's talking about. I can't imagine what I would have looked like if I would have done everything he wanted to do to me. I'm a verry insecure person to the point that just a pimple on my face makes me not want to leave the house. It makes me so mad to think about it, he's living his life with no regrets mean while everyday I and God only knows how many others cry at the sight of our own reflection. So please don't let anything he said efffect your self esteem. He tryed to sell me everything too, but before he ruined my face it was nothing to be aproched by people claiming to be model scouts, photographers, ect....Now I'm the ugly girl aproched by no one and trying to get help in a store is a lot harder, people are a lot meaner, life is definitly harder when your unatractive.:(

2001anon: I was just curious if things have gotten better for you. I actually tried to private message you but got an error message. I hope you found a good lawyer. Has anything improved? Just thinking of you.

i wonder what actually happened to me when i was under the knife. i might not want to find out! my swelling and bruising was horrendous. it looked like someone had litterally picked up a frying pan and beat me in the face with it over and over. that was my pics you saw. i cant remember if i posted any bruised up pics or not. what a mysterious business
2001anon 2 Oct 2011
I think u have a pic of ur nose on this sight, if that was u then I think he did good. As far as your swelling I think that's not normal to be to wear its swealling to your head. The reason I say that is because I had a severe nose break, orbital blow out and cheek fracture. It was so bad that drs didn't want to touch me. I was sent to johns Hopkins center of facial reconstruction and plastic surgery. I had to have 3 surgerys to be pit back together. The 3 rd was when they repaired my nose and I was told it would be done like a verry agresive nose job, they had to open my nose sand down all the lumps, reatach cartlidge to lift my tip back in place and rebreak it to get the bent part straight. He had me take 2 weeks off work, warned me of severe swelling in face and black eyes. I had no black eyes little swelling, went back to work in a week insteed of two. At my 3 week apt I told him I thaught all swelling was gone, he said thier was still some and at 6 months thier would be none left. My face had light swelling for about a week none in my head, and really my nose looked normal to me at 3 to 4 weeks, but was still a little sensitive. And at 27 you def don't need a face lift. I swear that Dr should be selling cars not operating. It's funny when I went in his office he wanted to do chin implant, cheek implat, nose, and soof lift (his version of a eye lift) He acused me of having a nose job and told me if I let him do it it would look more natural? I told him about my accident and it wasn't a nose job just a repair. He felt my nose needed to be lowered down at tip but that's what it looked like when broken and I felt I looked hardend like that so I declined that fast. Then he wanted to do my chin, but I don't like that prominate chin look so I didn't let him do that. When he brought up cheek bone implants I told him I didn't I like that defined cheek bone look and looking at my face I couldn't see how putting anything in my face would look right and I was worried it would stretch my face out if I wanted it removed wich I was almost sure I would. He told me it would be so small of an implant I wouldn't notice it and in his 20 years of practice he's never had any one not satisfied. So then I started thinking that maybee he can see things I can't, so my next guestion was what if I don't like it, he said then we will just take it out. I asked it putting something in thier like that could damage my tissue, change how my face works or loosen my muscles, he told me it wasn't that invasive people do it all the time, it doesn't damage anything and won't streetch me out. He told me by to weeks swelling would be gone and surgery undetectible. Let me just tell u, everyone I worked with was asking me if I had cheek bone implants and pple kept asking me what I did and telling me how they can't believe I let someone touch my face that it was perfect before. I went to his office crying and begging him to take them out, ( they hurt bad to) his responce was that everyone was just jellous, told me to stop looking in mirrors and to only look at the pics he printed off because his lighting is more acurate. In his pics it didn't even look like me! Also I was told by everyother Dr that yes, it does stretch your skin out and the longer thier in the more your stretched out. Also when he recomended the soof lift I said " what is that, some kind of face lift or something? He said no u don't need a face lift. Then I asked again what is it, he said were I just go in and tighten some muscle around the eye and it gives u a lifted look. I figured any thing involving the tightening of muscles was good. When I smile laphed I would get a little poof under eye that's been thier since I was a kid but I was starting to get some darkening in corners of eyes, and if I smilled a lot while wearing make up I would get a little line that would come in go around nose mouth area. He said the implants would get rid of that, didn't under stand how but I figured he new what he was doing. Now I have a big fold! I just thaught if u did something as soon as u noticed a sighn of aging it would stop it from showing, what a mistake! When he finally removed the implants he did it while I was awake and used a chisel like instrament and scraped against my bone for what felt like for ever. He spent a lot more time on the left side, and it just so happens that the left side of my face is much smaller now then right side, don't know yet if its bone loss or fat loss. Also wanted to add when I showed up that morning for surgery that I decided against the bone implants and wanted to speak to freeman before the surgery to let him know I didn't want implants and to be verry conservitive because the correction I needed was very small. Dr freeman was not thier, instead I was introduced to a Dr that was sopose to be watching the procedure being done for learning purposes. I told his nurse how I felt and she said I needed to be asleep before he got thier, then she started an iv for nerves, gave me a paper to sighn and I told her I didn't want the implants, she said u already paid for them, your gonna love em, worse case scenerio will just take em out if u decide thier not what u want, I said that's it, its that easy just take em out, and thats the last I remember, guess the anistesia had been started...

After implants were finally removed I gave it a few months for swelling to go down. Friends and family that hadn't seen me in a while told me I needed to gain wait that my face was looking sunk in, or I look verry tired and should get some rest. I am missing so much volume from my face that my nose looked biger and when I wear my hair up my ears look big, crazy cause my ears wear always so small and didn't stand out at all. So I went back to find out why do I not look like me yet and his nurse asked me if I was enjoying the results of my mid face lift???;; I said I didn't get a mid face lift I had a soof lift, then she said that's what a soof lift is...if u go to his u tube video, he calls it an eye lift not mid face lift!!!! ......then when I spoke to him trying to figure out what was done I said did u give me a mid face lift he said no, then I asked y one of my eyes looked smaller and y it seemed I was missing fat around my eye area. He said that's my smaller eye and no one is symetrical. After getting operitive notes it said he removed fat from one eye? Why would he do that. Booth my eyes were the same before and I told him I wanted no fat removed from begining and I thaught we were on the same page because he said he didn't want to remove any. I then asked him again how the procedure was done and y my eyes look so round he said exact words. I think, never mind what I think let's look at some pics before and after. While he was taking pics of me I asked him if my skin was redraped or if he had lifted my cheek off the bone and try to lift( I had just googled how mid face lifts were done) he said no then I asked what did u do to do the procedure, he said let's just take a look at the pics. I asked y it now looks like I'm snarling all the time and y I have these folds on my face, one higher then the other above my nose lifting my left nostril higher thee the right. He made an agrevaited siggh, and told me to take a look at his pics that again, didn't look like me. I told him I thaught his pictures were bull**** then left his office and got me a lawyer. It's funny because 2 months later he contacted me while I was on the other line with lawyer when they offered a full refund. I dropped the case and took the refund so excited not have to go through court because my lawyer said it would be a long trial, I did not realize how expensive it would be just to fix the part of my face that gives me head acks so I'm probly gonna take it to court. Thier were alot of other shady things done as well but I think I've all ready wrote a book, when I get back to n.c I'm going to post my before and after pics that he wouldn't even look at when I brought them to his office. He is verry cocky, and way to confident.
AJJ01 1 Dec 2011
2001anon: I think you should definitely call your lawyer back and sue the pants off of him if you can or at least the sue the scalpel out of his hand! I had a brief encounter with him and after speaking with him I knew there was no way in heck I'd let him touch me. He also tried to sell me everything from chin implants to cheek implants to an eye lift to doing my nose. I went in for injections.... that was it.... Injections in my cheeks because I wanted just a slight filling, not new cheeks all together. Man was he selling me on how "uneven" my face is and how much larger the right side is vs the left. He never even asked me what I really wanted or what my true expectations were. Honestly I had to pick my self esteem off the floor after that. I thought about what he'd said about my face for probably a week. It made me self conscious but I got over it especially after reading bad reviews. Oh and by the way... I agree, I've also kept up with reading his reviews every now and then for the past 7 or 8 months and I noticed that some of the bad reviews just disappear. Very interesting. I've also noticed he goes by 'Michael Freeman' and then sometimes his middle name, 'Sean Freeman'. I think that is very strange. In my opinion, he should be investigated thoroughly.
