I have had few surgeries done by many doctors in charlotte. I wish i could recommend someone to you. I had a consult with Dr. hunstad today. You could check him out. Have you heard anything about him?
Do not go to voci he has screwed up a few people I know.
good guy 15 May 2011
Did you feel confident with your pre-op appointment with Dr. Freeman?

Were you shown pictures of his work?

I am just wondering why you needed to pay so much money (non refundable) up front?
Simpson 20 May 2011
I was concerned about paying for everything upfront but his surgery scheduler, Christi (I think) told me that I was blocking that day just for me. I knew I had only a certain amount of time away from my job and I day I picked worked perfect. Didn't want to loose it! Dr. Freeman showed me a ton of pics and some even remind me of my nose. I got computer imaging and since I had scheduled a surgery I wasn't charged for that. I went in their office 2 different times just to talk with Dr. Freeman about what he was going to do and then I had a another appointment with his nurse for prescriptions and what to expect the day of surgery. I couldn't of had a better experience.

drujan 13 May 2011
hello. we couldn't tell much difference in my friends. he did a small revision on me. i think he messed up being that one nostril is very hard and the large hard part moves with my fingers. i think he put somthing in me. he kept saying i looked fine when i pointed it out. it did not look fine. this was 6 years ago. i believe you will be fine if he has showned you many many pictures that you like. i dont like to talk bad about anyone just telling you my story. I am praying for you.
Simpson 13 May 2011
Dr. Freeman did my surgery about 15 months ago and I have been absolutely thrilled! He was so easy to talk with and his staff is outstanding. They made me feel very welcomed and answered all my questions thoroughly. I didn't like the nasal splint on my nose for a wk but I would definitely recommend him. My girlfriend is getting her nose done in June and this is a redo for her. Dr. Freeman was very honest and told her the results may not be perfect but would be an improvement. Good Luck but I think he is great.

Simpson, I'd love to see your pics since you had such a great experience with Dr. Freeman. I've heard so much negative, I'd like to see one of his real world successes. You can block out your eyes to conceal identity. It just sounds as if you are extremely pleased so I'm sure you'd probably like to help give Dr. Freeman some positive feedback among the negative for fair balance. pics would help.
Thanks,
AJ

Dr. Freeman just did an open rhinoplasty on me a two weeks ago and I am very pleased with the results at just 2 weeks post op.

Please don't go to this Dr, worst mistake I ever made!!!!. I paid for his version of an eye lift for slight darkening in inner corner of eyes., he said he was just gonna tighten muscle. His nurse said he gave me a mid face lift ?? I was only 30 at the time most people guessed me at early twentys. I kno I did not need any type of face lift.He removed fat from one eye and sewed it up on the side so my eye is smaller now and booth eyes droop from the pulling down of my face. I get head ache from my eyes trying to close and now my brows are beginning to droop to compinsate for my lower lids not closing rite. He also talked me into cheek bone implants, please don't let him get you with the line that he's never had to remove any, they looked terible and people even asked me if I got them put in. He removed them after 2 months and I have stretched out skin and white lines going down right side of face that look like stretch marks. They were so painful I asked him to take them out at 2 weeks because I felt like they were stretching my skin out and that it felt like my face was going to break open. He said that it was impossible for my skin to get stretched outvfrom them and refused to take them out untill 6 weeks later. The implants were huge and looked verry strange on my oval shaped face and I would have never gotton them if he wouldnt have said that everyone likes them in his 20 years of practice. Also when he recommended surgery first thing I wanted to know about were risks, he said again he's never had any one unsatisfied in his 20 years and that he invinted the procedure and that I would not have to worry about round eye, he said thier would be no removal of fat. My next question was if something went wrong would he make sure I at least looked as good as I did pre op. He said that would never happen but if it did he would make sure I was taking care of. The amount.t if money its gonna take to get me some what normal is going to be tripple what I paid him, he did refund the money for the procedure but its not enough to fix the mess he's made. The more time goes on the more stories I here about him, and as far as noses I only know of one person he did and he told me his nose colapsed after his procedure and had to get a redo. Be careful about his pics because his befores and afters of me didn't look like me before or after. He put them through his computer and printed them out even the color of my skin was different. He told me not to look at the mirror, just his pics when I wanted to see a realistic pic of what I looked like after the surgery???
KristenBeth 1 Oct 2011
I feel bad you had such a horrible experience. I have had such a great experience and would still recommend him to others. At my visits I did not ask about risks, he actually told me about them. He recommended a facial implant for me, but I turned it down. I am extremely satisfied with my results. I hope you are able to find a surgeon that meets your expectations. Best of luck to you!!!
2001anon 1 Oct 2011
I'm happy to hear your surgery came out well for you! He is a ent so I guess he's had better training in that area. I'm glad he was honest with you about your results, I say he told me of no risks because the only things he brought up were was possibility of a crooked implant that could be easily fixed and Temporary numbness on the face. When I asked about eye shape changing he told me that his procedure will not cause that. When I asked if thier was any possibility of me looking worse, again he told me No. When his nurse had me sighn a paper for nerve damage I almost opted out untill she told me that I only had to sighn because leagaly he wasn't allowed to do the procedure with out that paper sighned and that North Carolina law says its a risk with the nature of procedure because it has happened before in the hands of an unexperianced surgent and that Dr Freeman waa trained were all nerves are and has never and will never happen. Looking back I should have ran then but I had a lot of trust in drs from past experiance. I feel like in other situations I've been in they always have told me about the worse possible out come and everythings allways been great. I had to have a verry risky reconstruction done in past from an accident and to this day u can't tell. I hear good things about this Dr before my proceedure, unfortunitly the 2 people who did tell me about him spoke highly of him because of his web site and not from previous work and I didn't find out untill after my my surgery. One lady had botox from him and was happy with her forehead. I did see an upper bleph he did on a lady in her 60 s and it looked good to me because I didn't see any scar. the guy who's nose collapsed was fixed at a later date by him and the man says he's ok with it but verry disapointed with his crooked chin implant that he didn't fix and would not recomend him. I'm only posting these things because I wish someone would have warned me, 3 people I have told about what happen to me, two of them being drs came right out and asked me if it was him without me mentioning his name. Also I have heard storries much worse then mine and even met someone that told me she testified against him for a law suit I was told he lost for giving a lady a forehead lift instead ofvan upper bleph. I didn't post anything sooner because I was advised not to by my lawyer. After he refunded my money I decided not to persue. Now that I'm finding out to fix this mess I'm looking at around 30 for everthing but was told I will never look exactly the same as pre op I am reconsidering exspecially because of how I was treated when I called and asked if they would help me with Dr fees to fix the mess he made. Also anyone considering this Dr should Google his decried every couple weeks. The reason I saw that is because after he did this to me I kept googling his reviews to see if others are going through this and what I notice is I will see a very damaging review that lasts a few weeks maybee a couple months and then disapears? Every time its a different review. I've seen them on yahoo and a couple other review sites and what seems to be a consistant complaint is his short temper, inability to explain the procedure in enough depth without getting frustraited, not happy with procedure and felt that they were not warned of potential problems....I am left with a crooked hollowed out face, drooping lip on right side big long folds that start at nose crease and extend past lip corners, round pulled down eyes, head ach, brows starting to droop, numbness on most of left side of face, its been over a year and still have inflamation, dents and waves in face, crooked smile, much more volume on right side of face. I look at pics taken weeks before procedure, even drivers licence which I thaught was a terrible pic before, now wish so bad I could look like that again. I don't like talking bad about someone because I understand mistakes happen and no ones perfect but when your lied to I no longer consider it a mistake. I hope this post helps someone not make the same bad desitions I did because you won't be able to count on this Dr for more.then a refund if something goes terribly wrong and unexpected. Also wanted to add that most of his staff are verry kind and compassionate with the exception of his nurse who now reminds me of a used car salesmen.

oh goodness. he did a nose job for me 4 months ago. my new nose looks better than the old one (but it was huge) i was very confident i had finally chosen the right MD when I scheduled my rhinoplasty with him. now that i think about it my procedure was never explained to me before i went through with it! thats scary. i asked right before i went back i think if it was gonna be an open rhinoplasty or a closed one (two different ways of doing it) i should have known that long before! after the surgery i had some questions
1. "i have such intense swelling all around my face and entire head...is this normal?"
his response: "normal for you!"
2. "so what exactly did you do and how did you do it?" (i asked this 1 wk post op)
his response: "thats what I went to school for"

i dont know there were some other aspects too where i felt i was sorta "left in the dark" so to speak but some info was made very clear like post-op directions and things like that. he comes off as super confident. at my consultation he took one look at me and told me it would be a piece of cake for him. it was hard to be so trusting with my face to a complete stranger. it was the most difficult decision ive ever made.

im really sorry to hear about your story. to be honest...after i had made my surgery date I saw some negative stuff on here and it really freaked me out. i called his office and they hooked me up with a girl my age who had a nosejob from him back in 08. she was thrilled with her result and said recovery was a breeze. she gave me the confidence to go through with my decision and I dont regret it looking back.

im not gonna lie though...sometimes i wonder IF i had chosen a different surgeon would my nose look better? or worse!? guess Ill never know. im 27 and he already told me he wanted to do a facelift on me whenever im ready. i said "dont you think im a little on the young side for that" and he said "well maybe in a few years...it makes a big difference."
drujan 1 Oct 2011
what a jerk. i'd bet you don't need a facelift any time soon. i hope you don't have a complex.
tiffypoo62 1 Oct 2011
no facelift for me! ---by the time im a candidate for that he will probably be retired! lolol
2001anon 2 Oct 2011
I think u have a pic of ur nose on this sight, if that was u then I think he did good. As far as your swelling I think that's not normal to be to wear its swealling to your head. The reason I say that is because I had a severe nose break, orbital blow out and cheek fracture. It was so bad that drs didn't want to touch me. I was sent to johns Hopkins center of facial reconstruction and plastic surgery. I had to have 3 surgerys to be pit back together. The 3 rd was when they repaired my nose and I was told it would be done like a verry agresive nose job, they had to open my nose sand down all the lumps, reatach cartlidge to lift my tip back in place and rebreak it to get the bent part straight. He had me take 2 weeks off work, warned me of severe swelling in face and black eyes. I had no black eyes little swelling, went back to work in a week insteed of two. At my 3 week apt I told him I thaught all swelling was gone, he said thier was still some and at 6 months thier would be none left. My face had light swelling for about a week none in my head, and really my nose looked normal to me at 3 to 4 weeks, but was still a little sensitive. And at 27 you def don't need a face lift. I swear that Dr should be selling cars not operating. It's funny when I went in his office he wanted to do chin implant, cheek implat, nose, and soof lift (his version of a eye lift) He acused me of having a nose job and told me if I let him do it it would look more natural? I told him about my accident and it wasn't a nose job just a repair. He felt my nose needed to be lowered down at tip but that's what it looked like when broken and I felt I looked hardend like that so I declined that fast. Then he wanted to do my chin, but I don't like that prominate chin look so I didn't let him do that. When he brought up cheek bone implants I told him I didn't I like that defined cheek bone look and looking at my face I couldn't see how putting anything in my face would look right and I was worried it would stretch my face out if I wanted it removed wich I was almost sure I would. He told me it would be so small of an implant I wouldn't notice it and in his 20 years of practice he's never had any one not satisfied. So then I started thinking that maybee he can see things I can't, so my next guestion was what if I don't like it, he said then we will just take it out. I asked it putting something in thier like that could damage my tissue, change how my face works or loosen my muscles, he told me it wasn't that invasive people do it all the time, it doesn't damage anything and won't streetch me out. He told me by to weeks swelling would be gone and surgery undetectible. Let me just tell u, everyone I worked with was asking me if I had cheek bone implants and pple kept asking me what I did and telling me how they can't believe I let someone touch my face that it was perfect before. I went to his office crying and begging him to take them out, ( they hurt bad to) his responce was that everyone was just jellous, told me to stop looking in mirrors and to only look at the pics he printed off because his lighting is more acurate. In his pics it didn't even look like me! Also I was told by everyother Dr that yes, it does stretch your skin out and the longer thier in the more your stretched out. Also when he recomended the soof lift I said " what is that, some kind of face lift or something? He said no u don't need a face lift. Then I asked again what is it, he said were I just go in and tighten some muscle around the eye and it gives u a lifted look. I figured any thing involving the tightening of muscles was good. When I smile laphed I would get a little poof under eye that's been thier since I was a kid but I was starting to get some darkening in corners of eyes, and if I smilled a lot while wearing make up I would get a little line that would come in go around nose mouth area. He said the implants would get rid of that, didn't under stand how but I figured he new what he was doing. Now I have a big fold! I just thaught if u did something as soon as u noticed a sighn of aging it would stop it from showing, what a mistake! When he finally removed the implants he did it while I was awake and used a chisel like instrament and scraped against my bone for what felt like for ever. He spent a lot more time on the left side, and it just so happens that the left side of my face is much smaller now then right side, don't know yet if its bone loss or fat loss. Also wanted to add when I showed up that morning for surgery that I decided against the bone implants and wanted to speak to freeman before the surgery to let him know I didn't want implants and to be verry conservitive because the correction I needed was very small. Dr freeman was not thier, instead I was introduced to a Dr that was sopose to be watching the procedure being done for learning purposes. I told his nurse how I felt and she said I needed to be asleep before he got thier, then she started an iv for nerves, gave me a paper to sighn and I told her I didn't want the implants, she said u already paid for them, your gonna love em, worse case scenerio will just take em out if u decide thier not what u want, I said that's it, its that easy just take em out, and thats the last I remember, guess the anistesia had been started...

After implants were finally removed I gave it a few months for swelling to go down. Friends and family that hadn't seen me in a while told me I needed to gain wait that my face was looking sunk in, or I look verry tired and should get some rest. I am missing so much volume from my face that my nose looked biger and when I wear my hair up my ears look big, crazy cause my ears wear always so small and didn't stand out at all. So I went back to find out why do I not look like me yet and his nurse asked me if I was enjoying the results of my mid face lift???;; I said I didn't get a mid face lift I had a soof lift, then she said that's what a soof lift is...if u go to his u tube video, he calls it an eye lift not mid face lift!!!! ......then when I spoke to him trying to figure out what was done I said did u give me a mid face lift he said no, then I asked y one of my eyes looked smaller and y it seemed I was missing fat around my eye area. He said that's my smaller eye and no one is symetrical. After getting operitive notes it said he removed fat from one eye? Why would he do that. Booth my eyes were the same before and I told him I wanted no fat removed from begining and I thaught we were on the same page because he said he didn't want to remove any. I then asked him again how the procedure was done and y my eyes look so round he said exact words. I think, never mind what I think let's look at some pics before and after. While he was taking pics of me I asked him if my skin was redraped or if he had lifted my cheek off the bone and try to lift( I had just googled how mid face lifts were done) he said no then I asked what did u do to do the procedure, he said let's just take a look at the pics. I asked y it now looks like I'm snarling all the time and y I have these folds on my face, one higher then the other above my nose lifting my left nostril higher thee the right. He made an agrevaited siggh, and told me to take a look at his pics that again, didn't look like me. I told him I thaught his pictures were bull**** then left his office and got me a lawyer. It's funny because 2 months later he contacted me while I was on the other line with lawyer when they offered a full refund. I dropped the case and took the refund so excited not have to go through court because my lawyer said it would be a long trial, I did not realize how expensive it would be just to fix the part of my face that gives me head acks so I'm probly gonna take it to court. Thier were alot of other shady things done as well but I think I've all ready wrote a book, when I get back to n.c I'm going to post my before and after pics that he wouldn't even look at when I brought them to his office. He is verry cocky, and way to confident.
AJJ01 1 Dec 2011
2001anon: I think you should definitely call your lawyer back and sue the pants off of him if you can or at least the sue the scalpel out of his hand! I had a brief encounter with him and after speaking with him I knew there was no way in heck I'd let him touch me. He also tried to sell me everything from chin implants to cheek implants to an eye lift to doing my nose. I went in for injections.... that was it.... Injections in my cheeks because I wanted just a slight filling, not new cheeks all together. Man was he selling me on how "uneven" my face is and how much larger the right side is vs the left. He never even asked me what I really wanted or what my true expectations were. Honestly I had to pick my self esteem off the floor after that. I thought about what he'd said about my face for probably a week. It made me self conscious but I got over it especially after reading bad reviews. Oh and by the way... I agree, I've also kept up with reading his reviews every now and then for the past 7 or 8 months and I noticed that some of the bad reviews just disappear. Very interesting. I've also noticed he goes by 'Michael Freeman' and then sometimes his middle name, 'Sean Freeman'. I think that is very strange. In my opinion, he should be investigated thoroughly.
Nick_Male_40 20 Feb 2012
Hi:

Where did you end up going for your injections?

Thanks!
tiffypoo62 2 Oct 2011
i wonder what actually happened to me when i was under the knife. i might not want to find out! my swelling and bruising was horrendous. it looked like someone had litterally picked up a frying pan and beat me in the face with it over and over. that was my pics you saw. i cant remember if i posted any bruised up pics or not. what a mysterious business
2001anon 4 Dec 2011
Ajj01 I am going to contact some lawyers after x- mas and see. The one I was working with has picked up to many cases and can't fit mine in before the time limits up.
I'm soo happy u didn't let him talk u into it, that's what he does, he feeds off of peoples insecuritys and in reality your probably beautiful and don't have any of that uneveness he's talking about. I can't imagine what I would have looked like if I would have done everything he wanted to do to me. I'm a verry insecure person to the point that just a pimple on my face makes me not want to leave the house. It makes me so mad to think about it, he's living his life with no regrets mean while everyday I and God only knows how many others cry at the sight of our own reflection. So please don't let anything he said efffect your self esteem. He tryed to sell me everything too, but before he ruined my face it was nothing to be aproched by people claiming to be model scouts, photographers, ect....Now I'm the ugly girl aproched by no one and trying to get help in a store is a lot harder, people are a lot meaner, life is definitly harder when your unatractive.:(
AJJ01 12 Mar 2012
2001anon: I was just curious if things have gotten better for you. I actually tried to private message you but got an error message. I hope you found a good lawyer. Has anything improved? Just thinking of you.

has anyone heard of dr. thomas liszka in charlotte n.c. for rhinoplasty?
anon1138 25 Jan 2012
REALLY sorry to hear your story!! I had a tipplasty and chin implant in july done by Dr. Freeman. The chin implant ended up being a DISASTER which I had to have removed by another plastic surgeon in another state who agreed that it was not aesthetically pleasing and it was blocking my muscles that allow me to smile wide... though Dr. Freeman treated me like I was crazy when I voiced the same concerns. My nose looks better than it was originally but it still looks like a "before" picture. Basically he left intact the part that I said bothered me the most (ball on end that droops when I smile). After I booked the surgery he was rude to me with all of my appointments. After having paid for the original surgery, the cost of having my implant removed by another surgeon, Im not financially or emotionally prepared to have a revision but I still look in the mirror after 7 months wishing he had done a better job. And on top of that I basically have a permanent pimple where a stitch is under my skin and pokes out. I thought it was an ingrown hair and one day got sick and tired and got the tweezers to pull it out, only to discover that it is absolutely the end of a stitch and there is nothing I can do about it but to try not to let it get aggitated. 7 months later. I would never recommend him to anyone!!!
